The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Max it is, then. And you've got it right - Erky Timbers, of the Timbers clan. Which may or may not exist in this world.

Sorry, never heard of it. Not a clan member myself. I think I am in one by default, but my father never really talked about it.

I take it your father was the orc? [ yeah he picked up on that shit ]

Half-orc actually. My grandpa was the one with pure orc blood in his vein. [And his grandma was actually a half-orc, so his father was more of a three quarter orc. But he'll hold that information so the little man won't be confused about how orc he is.]

Actually knew a few half-orcs in the old world who were handy in a pinch.

Of course! Half-orcs are the pride of both species. Quick witted and adaptable like humans. Strong and tough like orcs. [Racial pride, it is. His face makes that smug, full of vanity.] No one can get in our path.

So do you pay homage to your orcish deities or the human ones? Always curious, about that.

Neither. I make my own way in this world. My father worshiped orcish gods, but that part of him never passed on to me.

Ah, I see. [ sounds a little disappointed tho ] Well, you seem a strong lad, so I'm sure you find it quite easy to make your way. ... Hopefully without kicking all of them as you go.

The Ironhand is a champion of vigilance, combat, and martial defense! We're a warrior caste, you could say.

Sounds like a cool god. [A warrior who follows divine order. According to his knowledge of character classes, that makes Erky a paladin or a battle cleric or a templar or... actually there are tons of classes that Erky can be categorized in. But he'll just pick the most popular divine warrior class that is used in most rpgs.] Hmm... Are you a paladin?

A cleric and a fighter. No middle line between them for us, no sir.

A healer and also a fighter. Now that's what I'd call handy. When we go on a mission together, I'll leave the frontline support to you, my friend. [A battle cleric, he is. Much more interesting than the boring full-time white mage. Max will definitely stick to this guy.]

Maybe we can talk that Wynn fella into making sure we do just that. I'd feel confident with a half-orc on my back.

Oh! That reminds me I need to talk to him. Well, it's nice meeting you, pal! I'll take our message to the boss and make sure he'll put us on the same team. [He gives the man a salutation, before standing back up.] Take care! [And he marches away.]
