pembrokeshire ♔ the day has come where i have died

WHO || Lydia Martin, Alaric Saltzman, Helen Magnus, Rose Hathaway, Sydney Bristow
WHAT || A couple of knights take a short trip west to investigate reports of Shadowkind deaths.
WHERE || Police Station, Pembrokeshire, Wales
WHEN || May 20th
HOW || Actionspam
The briefing was simple and direct: a string of disappearing Shadowkind centered around a small farming town in Wales. The Karthur Institute wasn't called in until the local authorities got reports of incessant, blood-curdling screams coming from a barn just past the edge of town. They found a girl curled in the corner there, screaming her lungs out, shaking, and looking like she'd been running around the forest alone for days.
They also found the five bodies of their missing townspeople in the barn.
They tell the knights (and thus, Wynn tells them) that the girl is in police custody, but they don't tell them that she's pinned in a cell. They've fed her and given her a coat by now, but the deputy is quick to alert Helen, Rose, Sydney, and Alaric as they arrive of the bad news.
"She hasn't shut up since we put her in there." He glances back over his shoulder, toward the lock-up. "Not screamin', just wanting to know who they were." He looks back at the knights, grim. "Don't think she's got any idea how she got out there. I don't have it in me to tell her I don't either; wherever she's rom, it inn't Pembrokeshire."

On the floor. Both of you. Now!
[She keeps her gun trained on Amy, but she's talking to both of them, clearly (intimidate 32)]

Officer Incompetent comes in behind Helen, panting and wheezing like he ran up the stairs behind her with much less skill from the car. ]
Jesus, lady, just— [ He looks around like da fuck ??? ] ... Amy? Eddie?

Who the hell are you and why shouldn't I shoot you?! [Rose Hathaway. Making friends wherever she goes.]
no subject
But the officer will take a free action to answer Rose. ]
Local police. Your friend here had the idea Officer Casey might be involved in this. I didn't want to believe it, but ...
[ Amy scowls. ]
We were doin' what we had to do.

[Helen spits the words out with a sneer.]

If you'd kept your nose outta what wasn't your business—
[ grandma wrestles away from lydia and slams the door open, stepping outside and shouting: ] You keep yer damn mouth shut before I put a needle through it.

Anyone in this room who happens to be Welsh?! Shut up!! [(Intimidate 36 D: )] Except you - [To the one who Granny just tried to silence.] You start explaining or I might just shoot you in the leg.

[ Lydia steps out of the room behind Grandma Duke, looking frazzled. Turning to the police officer, she catches his gaze with a searching, frightened one of her own. Swallowing, she points back into the room. ]
It was just them. Like some kind of game.
[ Her voice shakes, tightens, and Granny jumps in. ]
You think this is a game, child? We were doing the work of the Lord, putting this world back to rights, the way it was 'fore those monsters came through from their other world. [ To the officer, she adds: ] You oughtta be thankin' us.

[Looking at Lydia now.]
Game? [Cause she seems to have an idea of what's been going on.]

There are pictures.

Except that she nearly doesn't. Not when Lydia mentions pictures because Rose's finger tenses on the trigger of the gun she now aims at Granny Voorhees, somehow managing to stop herself before firing off a round (WS 15).]
Pictures? [Sneering.] You talk about God and you took pictures?! [Any guilt she might have felt for killing Grandpa flies right out the window.]

In the picture, Amy and the now-dead grandfather are holding up the severed head of a Drow. They're grinning, proudly presenting it as if they're hunters who are merely holding a deer's head aloft to show off the antlers.
Once the photos are out of his hands and into Helen's, the officer pulls handcuffs off his belt and pulls Amy's hands behind her back. If there's an equivalent to Miranda rights in Wales, he—well, fuck it, he wouldn't be smart enough to read them anyway. ]

You gunned down my man. [Teammate. She means her teammate. Not her man like... Oh, nevermind.] You had better pray to this god of yours that he survives, or you'll have me to deal with.

[ Not. Helping. Amy.
Officer Slight Less Incompetent shoves her out the front door and towards the squad car.
And pending any other commentary or investigative questions, they've solved the mystery. Office Slightly Less Incompetent brings them by the hospital where Ric is well on his way to recovery (though still in dire need of a cleric, thanks to the Caseys' eradication of any magical people near the town). Eddie is admitted and promptly handcuffed to a hospital bed, while Officer Slightly Less Incompetent allows the Knights to help interrogate and get statements from Granny and Amy while he calls to make arrangements for them to stand trial for what they've done.
And they all lived happily ever after. (Except the Shadowkind, who are, of course, no longer living.) ]
