The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she... is dubious, though thoster's conviction in wynn does buoy his words. abigail just can't help thinking, mostly because of their youth, that the newest recruits weren't chosen to last very long.

which bothers her because will would count as canon fodder as well and that's not allowed. ] Maybe.

I guess that would be weird. [ she certainly didn't expect will to be here. especially because... she was already there and will showed up after she did. though he'd probably been there longer than her, but recuperating... she would commiserate, but she still doesn't like telling people she's not native to this world.

[ he smirks a bit at her description, and glances around to see who she's pointing at. ] Solace by name, solace by nature, eh? [ his eyes flick back to hers, and his brow raises a little ] so where are they they?

Yes... yes I'm... must have tripped. [ Well that was a bit weird. He's clumsy at the best of times but that was something special. ]

[ he pulls a bit of a face; that sounds disappointing, less fun when there's no challenge ]

"I didn't," he tells her simply. It isn't entirely accurate, but then he's not really lying either. He lifts his hat from his head then and shoves it squarely atop of Myri's head, grinning to her in the process.

For all his whimsy, he's watching her, and watches how she looks about her, as though maybe she's worried or looking for someone. He doesn't know her well enough to comment on it just yet though.

Give it five minutes.

You'll figure it out. [He's just too lazy to explain that, and besides he doesn't fully understand the thing yet. So, he'll just leave Stiles to find out by himself.] Oh yeah. I haven't told you my name yet. It's Maxwell Briggard. Just call me Max. And you're Stilinski, right? Pleasure to meet you, pal.

Oh I bet you do. [ he smirks a little as he shifts his step. Probably shouldn't be flirting, but then it's almost difficult not to. ]

I'll take that as a compliment. [He laughs out loud.] So, where do you come from, pal?

Nice to meet you too, Harrison. [ the Doctor's grin is wide, and he reaches out a hand to shake. You just stroked his ego a little bit, Gus, it doesn't take much, but he likes you. ]

[She nods slowly. It can be a hard decision, to not rush in guns blazing, but sometimes it's the right thing to do. You want to be able to see all the angles, keep a cool head.]

[Apparently in all that internet surfing he was doing, he actually learned what lacrosse was (knowledge 18). His face picks up a bit at that, and while he knows that he'd probably mow Stiles down like a freight train, it might not be a bad way to kill some time.]

Could be fun. You might have to teach a lot of the people here, though.

Still, it's good to come to these things. If anything, you'll be able to catch people you might not see too often.

Well, whether we like it or not, growing up is a part of life. [ she sounds sympathetic, though, b/c she'd have preferred myri have an easier time, as well ] Some people have a harder time at it than others. I suppose that sort of comes with the territory here.
