The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[She nods slowly. It can be a hard decision, to not rush in guns blazing, but sometimes it's the right thing to do. You want to be able to see all the angles, keep a cool head.]

Maybe he knows something we don't.

I hope that's true. I know it's not my place to know everything, but I don't like secrecy at times like this. He said that trust between each of us is important right now, but it's not easy to trust someone who keeps you in the dark. His action is justified though, who knows if Sarandis has an extra pair of eyes around here.

Sometimes a little secrecy is important. Plausible deniability isn't necessarily a bad thing.

[He tries to smile as he changes the subject.] Well, enough with the gloomy talk. Let's talk about you. Where have you been, sweetie?

Around. A good friend of mine is getting married in a few days, so I've mostly been getting ready for that.

Are you the bridesmaid? I can imagine how beautiful you would look in a dress. [He smiles flirtatiously.] Do I know your friend?

[She pauses before shaking her head.]

It's a small wedding, so I don't think they're doing the whole bridesmaid thing. Just the maid of honor and best man.

[He might have heard the name, but he have never met her before.] Too bad. I was wishing to see you in such dress. But a wedding, huh?
This will surely lighten up the mood a bit. Considering all the things that have happened.

[She nods in return with a small smile.]

Yeah, I'm hoping so. Seems like everyone around here is in need of a pick-me-up.

[Especially with everything at risk the way it is.]

Yeah, we do. We really do. [He smiles as he sighs.] Well, best wishes to your friend, and if you need someone as your plus one and don't have anyone else, just call me, okay?

Unfortunately the plus one is already spoken for, but if he ditches me for some Adonis, I will definitely give you a call.

I can't say it won't also happen with me though. [He chuckles a bit at that.]

Then I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed in my favor.

[He smiles seeing her laugh.] Well, I'm going to go back at my room, I don't feel at my best this night. Good luck with your preparation, sweetheart. I hope your friend will have a merry wedding party. [He says his goodbye and leaves.]
