I can't -- [ She holds up her hands in a defensive gesture. The explanation only disgusts her more. ] I can't hear this. [ She promptly unbuckles her seatbelt and gets to her feet only to shove past him towards the back. God, was there anywhere on this plane that he couldn't corner her? ]

[And Spike honestly might have let her go then, if she weren't headed towards his little shadowy corner. He doesn't... actually have anywhere else to go. Which is a pretty convenient excuse, really. So he follows her.]

What can I do to make it right?

[slay]

[ She grinds her heels to a halt, wheeling around to face him. ] How about getting a clue? There's nothing to make right. Every word out of your mouth, everything that I thought I knew about you has been a lie, Spike. [ A beat. She shook her head, lip curling in a sneer. ] I don't know you. And, I don't want to.

[bigbad]

[He shakes his head, looking away to try and hide how much it hurts.] What did you expect? Me to go up to you and just slide it in with my name? I would have told you eventually.

[slay]

Don't give me that. You had plenty of chances. You could have told me anytime, but instead you hid it. You would rather lie to me. [ She drops her hands out to her side, shaking her head, attitude taking a turn for the mock-casual. ] No surprise. I'm sure that's just in your nature. A long with a whole lot else that I want no part of.

[bigbad]

Would it have made a difference? [Arguing is better. He can deal with arguing a lot better than he can deal with her refusing to talk to him.] Maybe I wanted you to judge me for me, not for my bloody nature. I don't know how many of my kind you've known, but I haven't hurt anyone. Not since I can remember, anyway. [Which didn't exactly strengthen his argument, but she knew it anyway.] I don't even drink human blood. Just the stuff you get from butcher shops.

[slay]

Oh, uck! [ She makes a disgusted face, looking away. She's sure she's gonna hurl if he keeps up the blood talk. At least 90% sure that she will. Her stomach is turning, she can't believe she's still having this conversation. ] Gross much? [ She huffs, glaring back at him, then holds her hands up in surrender. ]

Fine. You wanna be judged for you? This is me. Judging. Judging you on the fact that you're a lying scumbag. So, I hope it was fun for you, stringing me along. But, you got what you wanted. So, how about you return the favor and just leave. me. alone.

[ She shoves past him again, trying to get back to her seat. God, if he could just stop following her. And, okay, the lie admittedly did suck. And, she didn't really have anything to put it in perspective to that would dull the feeling of betrayal. Which wasn't helping. But, Buffy knew that wasn't all of it -- she also knew she didn't want to get into what else it was. The dreams -- nightmares, really. The fact that she'd apparently somehow been killed by vampires before and wasn't really eager to repeat the process by getting too close to this one. ]

[Oh hay, Mark is uncomfortably sitting a couple rows up from this, one earbud dangling out. Dis is his face forever because he can't help but overhear all of this dramatic dramafest.]

[bigbad]

[Isn't it cute how Spike attempted to keep this a secret! It sure worked for a good five minutes. He catches Mark's look as Buffy shoves by him, and he doesn't follow her this time. He stares after her longingly for a moment, then turns abruptly towards Mark.]

What?

[nosdacaraid]

[He puts on a totally innocent face, holding up both hands] Nothing.

[bigbad]

[He glares a little more and starts stalking back to his seat.] Better be nothing.

[nosdacaraid]

It's... Spike, right?

[bigbad]

That's me, yeah. What of it?

[nosdacaraid]

I figured we should probably introduce ourselves, if we're going to be working together.

[He deliberately holds up a hand, as a sort of peace offering] I'm Mark.

[bigbad]

[Spike stares suspiciously for a moment, then shakes Mark's hand.] All right, Mark. Hullo. What do you do?

[nosdacaraid]

Fighter branch. [He holds up his hands to demonstrate some... fisticuffs. It sort of peters out.] Usually... guns, but you know. Whatever's handy.

[bigbad]

That's what I do. [he thinks.] But not usually with guns. I like getting a bit more hands on.

[nosdacaraid]

Is that a ... [he indicates two fangs with his fingers and puts them in front of his mouth] ... thing?

[bigbad]

[Spike scowls at him.] No clue what you're talking about.

[nosdacaraid]

[Staaare] If you say so.

[bigbad]

[Dammit, this isn't working. Time to try lying. ...with a bluff check of 22, so it's surprisingly convincing.] You do get that I was being metaphorical with all that, right?

[nosdacaraid]

[Especially with like a 5 sense motive] Maybe you should try being a little... more literal. Today.

[bigbad]

[Yeah... wow, Mark, you are pretty stupid and naive if you believed that. And you'll feel that more when it inevitably comes out. But Spike just shrugs.]
