[She tentatively reaches out and takes the headphones and brings them closer to her ear. The sound is recognizable as music of some sort, though unlike anything she's heard before. After a moment, she looks at him, still holding the headphones close.]

Is this like the radio Sir Kat showed me?

Sort of exactly like that, yeah. [He looks down at the player in his hand again] Except... smaller. [A grin]

[witchwoman]

[She smiles, glad that she is able to connect different pieces of this strange world.]

So you were mimicking the music. [She nods her head in time to it.] I'm sorry that I disturbed you.

Hey, don't worry about it! Zero ... disturbance factor. It wasn't like I was doing anything important.

[Myri pulls the headphones away and hands them back to him.]

You're Mark, yes? I don't think we had much chance to talk before.

[He rolls them up around his hand and then slips them into the pocket of his shirt]

Yeah, that's me. I ... don't think I got your whole name. I mean I'm sure they... said it but we get a lot of...

[/backing it up, he holds out a hand] I'm Mark. And you are?

[She laughs and takes his hand to shake] Myrilandel. Or Myri for short. I know it can be a mouthful.

Myrilandel. Is that what you'd rather be called? Because I mean... mouthful or no, I don't want you to be like, wincing every time I call you something else.

[witchwoman]

Oh, I don't mind much either way. Honest.

[nosdacaraid]

It's a nice name, either way. Really unique. Is it uh...

[He squints at her] I mean you don't look... elven or anything.

[witchwoman]

You're the second person to mention this... elven to me upon introduction. I assume this has to do with the shadow world? I'm not from there, if that clarifies anything.

Sorry, I guess I uh, shouldn't have assumed. It's just the... [he gestures to his own hair] And I mean you don't strike me as... coming from around here.

[witchwoman]

I am not from here either. I am from the kingdom of Coronnan on the world Kardia Hodos.

[nosdacaraid]

[Mark stares for a long moment, before his eyes get HUUUUGE as he seems to realize something. He then says very slowly, in a hushed voice:] ... Is that in outer space?

[witchwoman]

[Myri's eyebrow furrow in confusion.]

I'm afraid I don't understand the term.

[nosdacaraid]

You know, from up... in the sky. [He points weakly] ... In the stars.

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head.]

No one can travel to the stars but the gods. And the Stargods have not returned to Coronnan for a very long time- hundreds of years before I was even born.

[nosdacaraid]

So where is this Cardio-Hobos world supposed to be, then?

[witchwoman]

Through the mist.

[Because that's all she knows of how she got here.]

[nosdacaraid]

This mist seems to be doing some... interesting things, lately.

[witchwoman]

What do you mean?

[nosdacaraid]

You're just not the only person saying they're not from the Shadow World. It's never done anything like that before.

[witchwoman]

Not once? Strange that so many of us would arrive at roughly the same time... [Since she recalls that most of those she's met were either squired with her or just a week or so prior.]

Do you think Wynn knows what could have caused it?

I don't think he wouldn't have told you, if he did know. Unless he wanted to test his theory first.
