[ The teleportation spell brings them to a chilly, but recognizable destination. Though it isn't exactly the same as the city that Natasha may recall, the Kremlin is impossible to misidentify, and that's precisely where Loki is headed.

Natasha's free will is returned to her the minute they arrive, leaving her slightly disoriented, and potentially questioning why she had even listened to his demands (pending a reasonable wisdom check). They touch down 500 yards from the front of the Kremlin. ]

[Natasha uses the opportunity of the disruption provided by some badass she doesn't remember know crashing through the window to move away from Loki and closer to her teammates. This is also a really unfortunate time to find herself weapon-less.] Please tell me someone has an extra sword or something. [hi guys. Natasha missed your faces tbh.]

[ Guard #1 takes a 5-ft. step back to fire off a shot at Andie (atk 24, dmg 9).

Meanwhile, Guard #2 pulls his combat knife and lunges at David (atk 14), barely missing.

Guard #3 pulls his knife as well, with better luck (atk 22, 6 penetration dmg).

Guard #4 steps back and pulls his rifle up to shoot at David, but the bullet goes high in his surprise and fires off through the doorway (atk 11).

Lastly, Guard #5 goes for the Doctor with his combat knife (atk 12). ]

[ the knife slips right between the plates of his armor, and he hisses against the chill of the weapon's bite, grimacing at loki, even as he pulls away, one hand clutching at the wound. i actually rolled for him to come up with a witty retort and he crit failed so instead he just lets out a noise that is sort of like GRARGH!! and not even a word, as he brings the hammer down again. twice times. (atk 34, dmg 43+3 electricity) (atk 42, dmg 25+5 electricity)]

[ Thor's hammer crashes through another illusory duplicate as the real Loki teleports immediately behind him. Chuckling, dagger in hand, Loki drives it into Thor's back. Leaning forward, he lowers his voice and mutters tightly. ]

Is that any way to show how you've missed me? [ The attack from behind is as powerful as it is jarring. (atk nat 20, penetration damage 27 WITH A DAGGER JESUS, + 4 ice damage.) A chill spreads from the entry point of the blade, stiffening and blackening muscle with frostbite. ] What of the tears you shed to mourn me, brother?

[he replies to the doctor between clenched teeth:] Oh yeah, it's fucking heartwarming. [and gives him a nod. he's not dead. that's … a kind of okay. and then, feeling less like his insides are gonna spill out better from the potion, he decides to go for it and pull out the knife in his hand/abdomen. and tosses it from his left hand to his right. that's a quick draw, folks. he then takes a slash at guard 5. (atk 22; 7 dmg) ]

[Andie lets out a pained yelp when the bullet hits, then moves forward again, keeping her sights on guard 1. She's also using dodge on him, so that's +1 to her AC against his attacks. She does a complicated twisty roll thing at high speed (tumble 29) to rob guard 1 of his dexterity. Then she slices at him with her rapier (atk 15 action point says 21, dmg 6).]

[ The Doctor manages to lunge out of the guard's way in just enough time, and as he does his eyes darken, taking a step back. ]

I really wouldn't if I were you. Or your friends here. [ The Doctor isn't a fighter, not really, but be dangerous? He has his moments. (frightful presence against all opponents within 10ft, will save DC 17.) ]

[See, Guard #3? Now you made him mad. He looks down at the knife and then back up at him again, before slashing hard back at him (attack nat 20, 28 total, damage 18). There's also the Doctor doing his intimidate thing, so he's going to try not to get in the way of that. At least the other three are still focused on him.]

[Natasha approaches Guard #3, flanking him. She'll aim a kick at Guard #3's knees, hoping to bring him down to the ground to put him at that disadvantage. (attack 20; damage 3.)]

[ Guard 1, meanwhile, continues the rapport with Andie—or, more accurately, tries to and fails. The presentation of her rapier startles him, and he fumbles to get a shot off, so much so that it fires into the ceiling (atk 13).

Guard 2 steps in closer to David as he lunges forward with his knife (nat 20 atk, dmg 4).

The Doctor’s threat seems to hold water with at least Guard 3 and Guard 4, allowing Natasha to slip in and deliver a brutal kick to the back of Guard 3’s knees. He looks worse for wear already courtesy of David’s onslaught, and now he’s just not having a good time.

Still, Guard 3 turns with his knife and makes a jab for Natasha in reply to her kick (atk 16, dmg 4).

Though frazzled by the Doctor, Guard 4 fires another shot at David (atk 22, dmg 6).

Undeterred by the growling threats, Guard 5 continues to slash at the Doctor, barely grazing him this time (atk 13, dmg 8). ]

[ thor gasps as the dagger is embedded into his back, the sting of betrayal, of loki's bitter enmity, echoed in the pain coursing through him from his brother's chilling blade. ] All I wanted [ the words don't come nearly as easily as he wishes they would as he bites back the pain, clenching his teeth ] was for you to live as you would have died. Nobly, Loki. Instead, you fall back upon knives in the dark and treachery! [ the last word is punctuated by thor headbutting backwards (atk 23, dmg 12), sending a shockwave of electricity coursing through his body as he does so (11 electricity dmg). ]

Loki doubles back at that, taking the full brunt of the damage. Before he goes back after Thor, however, he steps five feet to the side, turning the icicle dagger over in his hand. ]

Ah, that. [ He seems unbothered. ] Your beloved Midgardians tell a parable of a frog and a scorpion. Have you heard it?

[alex glances over towards loki like IS THIS BITCH FUCKING REAL RIGHT NOW. ARE WE REALLY HAVING FUCKING STORY TIME???? and then goes back to trying to strike at guard 5 with the knife still covered in his sexy blood. no wonder guard 5 is still after the doctor. this guy is a psychopath. (atk 27 (thx action point); 20 dmg FUCK YES PENTRATION AND A CRIT.)]

[Andie does another twisty speed thing (tumble 20), then jabs him with her rapier again (atk 29, dmg 10 (or 4 if the tumble check failed)).]

[ The Doctor shifts to one side, trying to avoid the guards attack, his eyes flicking over his teammates to see if any of them are in need of help. Not that it would come for him in the form of an attack. ]

You know if this is a typical Russian greeting they don't put this in the guidebooks.

[Poor, poor Guard #3 is just taking the brunt of David's aggression here. His sword comes across as the guard takes the kick to the knees, looking to at least take him out of the running for now (attack 28, penetration damage 15).]

[That's one down. With that finished, Natasha is back on the move, this time in the direction of the other guard closest to her -- guard 4 (I think... /also consults map in private plurk) -- to start taking him on.

Her last kick to a guard had gone well, so she'll go with another one in guard #4's case. Hoping to use the kick to knock the wind out of him, she aims for the middle section of his body. (attack 18; dmg 7). ]

[ Guard 3 collapses to the ground, dead. Super dead. To his side, guard 5 also slumps to the ground, unconscious.

Guard 1 takes another shot at Andie, missing by a mile (atk 16).

Guard 2 continues to try and stab David, staggering straight past him because he’s worthless (atk 9).

Dodging Natasha’s kick, Guard 4 whips around and fires off a shot at her (atk 16, dmg 7). ]

This is no story, Loki. Why must everything be a game to you? [ still, loki's not making a move, so thor hefts the hammer in his hand, stepping five feet back as well as if to start circling him. he does have an action readied, however, to trigger if loki attacks. if he does, he gets to make an attack of 30, dmg 29+6 electricity if it hits. ] You let these people's lives be pawns for your entertainment.

[ ... "That I don't." Why do you love humans more than me? This is some Paradise Lost shit. As he begins to circle back, remaining opposite Thor as he shifts, Loki fans out into 5 Lokis again, making it impossible to see which is the original. ]

[alex doesn't really give enough of a shit to coup de grace guard 5, so he just moves right on to guard 4. while guard 4 is busy facing natasha, he places his left hand against the back of the guard's neck and does some of his psion-esque shit. (concentration 26) he's using stun, and rolled a 6 for dmg. so he ... bursts the guard's ear drums and makes him deafened. in addition to 6 dmg. yep. that happened. and prob hurt a lot.]

[Andie's gonna continue fighting guard 1 in her zippy, obnoxiously movementy way (tumble 29, atk 19, dmg 7 if it hits).]

[Cause she realizes she's not really good at measuring other people's speed but... it looks like Thor and the Lokis are having a pretty chill conversation. Also Thor and the Lokis would be a great band name.]

[ The Doctor continues to not be wanting to do the fighting thing, so he merely shifts out of the way, moving closer towards one of the Loki's in the process. Is this wise? Probably not. This has been a tag. ]

[If Natasha is going to go (to his) right, then David's gonna go left. He turns to face Worthless Guard #2, turning and slashing his sword up (attack 26, damage 5). Is it taking it easy on him because he feels bad for how much that shot sucked? Maybe. But he's still going to try and get so that he can help Andie out regardless.]

[She takes a step back after she's shot at -- maybe the Doctor has the right idea here JUST SAYING -- but then she tries another time to go after Guard #4, this time with a punch to the face, because he was just able to dodge her kick ... and she doesn't do a super awesome job of it (attack 5; damage 8 but I don't even think I needed to roll that because lol 5?).]
