The first twenty-four hours of searching yielded no results, in the hunt for Elena and the escaped doppelganger Kyp.  Most consider it not worth keeping up the search when both of them are capable of vanishing into literally any crowd, but Wynn isn't so quick to give up.  To that end, he's hired monster hunter Dean Winchester to work with a special team in trying to track them down.  A few other Knights familiar with Elena are invited along to the mini briefing, where Wynn and Dean already wait.

[will notices damon's reaction (spot 33), but doesn't do anything besides make a mental note of it.] I'm saying he's similar to a textbook narcissist. I saw mentions of changelings when I was looking into doppelgangers, but I wouldn't consider myself well-versed. [knowledge: arcane lore 11]

[ not that he's going to wait to get an answer ] Because, doppelgangers seek out connection. They want to belong. He's found whatever he thinks is one in Elena because he doesn't know she's a changeling. [ that's what it sounds like, anyway. ] Kyp's a bad guy, I'm not disputing that. But, I also read that doppelgangers fall more neutral. It's the "racial norm." [ youths. he pinches the bridge of his nose] How do you know she's a changeling? I wasn't debating whether Kyp's behavior was right or wrong or what direction his moral compass points. [and then he'll just ... answer damon's question. he probably knows from his hella high gather info roll when he was profiling kyp???? if i have to make another, it's 15.] He was infiltrating the Knights, with the added bonus of ample opportunities to be close to Elena. [which he certainly took but even will graham has more tact than that. IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.]

Changelings are still genetically similar to doppelgangers, since they're the children of one. Like he said, they're rare, and he might consider it the closest he's gonna find to a pureblood.

Lifting her gaze to Will.] Do you think he has it in him? To kill?

It does. [he nods at dean's explanation. and then, to rose:] I think anyone has it in them to kill if the circumstances present themselves.

Yeah but... for sport. For gain. For something other than life or death or is he too much of a coward to do the dirty work himself?

I think he would rather play mind games than resort to murder right off the bat. For better or for worse. But if you provoked him enough, in the right way — through Elena — I wouldn't be surprised if he lashed out with violence.

I've tangled with these things before. Some of these sons of bitches don't think twice about offing people, since all we are is disposable and inferior to 'em.

We're better off assuming that he would kill her, given the opportunity. Assuming anything less could risk her life even further.

Do we have a time limit on this or can we keep going until we find them?

I for one vote for, until we find them. [ If he's going out to fine them, there's a zero percent chance he'll return. Report back, sure. ]

[Archer throws Will a goodbye wave as he leaves. He kind of likes that guy, even though he's twitchy as all get out. He didn't even interrupt him.]

If the trail leads directly to Andres, and we have proof that they've traveled there, your mission will be put on hold until we receive back the intelligence from the mission group that will be going there to hear Sarandis' terms.

[For just a second something dark stirs in Rose's eyes but a moment later she gives a curt nod, as if to say that she accepts the order.]

One last question... Can a Doppelganger read anyone's mind or just the mind of the person they've shifted into?

Anybody's. That's what makes 'em so good at imitation. They read the minds of the people who actually are used to interacting with their vic, so they can play right into their expectations of how Joe Blow's gonna act.
