The first twenty-four hours of searching yielded no results, in the hunt for Elena and the escaped doppelganger Kyp.  Most consider it not worth keeping up the search when both of them are capable of vanishing into literally any crowd, but Wynn isn't so quick to give up.  To that end, he's hired monster hunter Dean Winchester to work with a special team in trying to track them down.  A few other Knights familiar with Elena are invited along to the mini briefing, where Wynn and Dean already wait.

Coming back out to the parking lot, she holds out the list for Dean and Rose.]

The names and room numbers of guests who arrived roughly when Elena and Kyp would have checked in. These are the only ones still checked in. There was another couple who checked out already- room 113. They were registered under the same last name. Kyp seems obsessed with Elena. I thought it might be some sick game of house, playing the married couple.

Rose scans the list that Helen passes over, eyes darkening but nodding along in agreement.]

He's the one who checked them in so I wouldn't be surprised.

[ dean cuts rose a scathing look but they're interrupted, so he waits until that's all to reply. ] Did you get a list of who checked out recently? Odds are, they're already gone, but there might be a clue in their room worth seeing. And what I was tryin' to tell Rose here, is that if they are gone, they obviously left this ride, so somebody's gonna be freaking out about their car missing, which gets us a description of what we're looking for.

Not all the room numbers beyond room 113. The names are here though. [At least I imagine he just used the same list..?]

Names and numbers. [ To make clear. ] So, what, we wait here patiently until someone freaks out because their car's been stolen?

No, I was thinking we could speak to a few of the guests, see if they've heard anything. If we're very lucky, Elena may still be in one of the remaining rooms. But if not, someone might have heard or seen something that could lead us to their next location.

[Helen's a little tired of Damon's existence. But can she trust the boys to go it alone? Eh, they'll survive.]

We can split up and cover more ground. Less obvious that way too. Rose and I can speak to some of the guests if you three would like to look around the property and see what else you might find. [hurry and say yes to being on team awesome, Rose.]

Uh - [Wisdom of 18 tells Rose that leaving Dean with Damon will probably result in some attempted staking so...] Dean can get us into unoccupied room and if we do happen across Elena and Kyp when questioning the other guests I'd rather have the numbers on our side.

[Back to Damon (and Archer if he's come over from the car.)] If you strike out around the lot, try checking with the Motel clerk again, see if any guests have reported a car being stolen. [There. Everyone happy!]

[Archer's just standing with his back to the group, seemingly deep in thought, until he turns around holding his index finger in the air like "Just a second," as he's chugging away at what's left in his flask.]

Mmmm. Minty. [He then points at Damon.] Nice reference. Why don't we hang outside the room while you all scope the inside out? We can keep other people away, and we'll be close in case there's a surprise waiting.

[A beat, as I assume at least one person gives him a "What kind of surprise would be in a vacant hotel room?" look.]

You know. Because Elena's kind of the Pelé of explosives, and it's actually shockingly simple to rig one of these shitty motel rooms up to blow. [Speaking confidently from experience.]

Told you she's not the Elena you thought you knew. [Straight-faced because she knows Archer isn't actually joking. That said... Back to Archer] But Elena wouldn't do that.

[One day Rose will learn that people don't always do what she thinks they will. Elena breaking Kyp out of the dungeons case in point. ANYWAY!]

Just, pay close attention to anyone coming out of their rooms, especially if it's two people, regardless of whether they're male or female and if somebody starts yelling about a missing car, get as much info as you can.

[It's faster than arguing over who is doing what.]

[Archer rolls his eyes at Damon.] Thanks for the cliffnotes, buddy.

Then he smirks at Rose.] Well I hope you're right, for your sake. You're the ones going in there. Keep an eye out for trip wires, I don't want to have to bring you back to HQ in pieces. [He's disturbingly nonchalant about this whole thing.]

Yeah, sure. Just try not to draw attention and we should be fine. [ and he'll look at helen ] Who's got the empty rooms?

[Turning away so that Damon and Archer can search the lot on their own, she addresses Dean and Rose, looking more than a little exasperated.]

The only room number I got for sure was 113. If you want to know the others, we can go back and ask. Or I can try to get him away from the desk and let you two have a look at his book on your own.

No it's alright. [Shooting Dean a look that was meant to code for 'don't push'.] We'll search that room and talk to the people in neighboring rooms. One of them must have seen something.

Yeah, fine. It's a start. [ and he'll go START TO LOCKPICK??? ]

[Helen will attempt to keep an eye out but she's a tad distracted. (Spot 12)]

[Yes, get on that lock picking Dean and if it weren't for the fact that Rose was a Dhampir, yeah she'd be missing everything with that atrocious roll but hell yeah modifier. (Spot 16).]

[ luckily there is... literally no one out at the moment, so dean pops the lock and looks back over his shoulder at them, nodding his head at the door, before opening it slowly. ] We're in.

[ he disappears inside, flicking on the light. for anyone who follows him, the motel room is pretty stereotypical, the beds freshly made, and nothing in sight. dean walks through it slowly, taking a look here and there and frowning. ]

[Rose moves in after Dean, taking in the room for evidence of the previous guests. (Spot 26.)]

Looks like. Not gonna find much of anything in here if they have been, unless their maid service is as crappy as their paint job. [ he checks under the bed, but rose is the one to notice the two body shaped depressions are both in ... one of the beds, not both separate ones. whoever slept here didn't bother to use the spare bed, they just shared. ]

[Rose's eyes narrow, shoulders tensing and a hand jerks out, the universal sign for 'gimme'.]

This isn't their room. [But... she doesn't sound completely sure of that.] Give us a look at that list of names again.
