The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

"Pretty sure this doesn't quite compare to full moon hijinks but it's still pretty weird." Stiles doesn't really see a difference in how Derek is interacting with him. Same broody, irritable Derek. He's not really getting the indication that he should find anything about this strange.

Until maybe the look that Derek gives him at that little comment, vulnerable with startlement. He'd told Wynn about his lycanthropy, and he hadn't thought Wynn would tell anyone else. But he had implied that there were others...

Derek's wide-eyed gaze narrows contemplatively. Maybe he's not a server after all. He leans into Stiles' space, and sniffs.

Which pretty much just nets him a nose load of teenage boy. Human teenage boy. Oops.

That startled look is enough to draw Stiles' attention. But the sniff? Stiles recoils back, brow furrowing into something nearly offended.

"Uh, dude? What are you doing?" Derek Hale: professional creeper isn't something new to Stiles but this was reaching new heights.

"You're human," he answers. (Because that is totally an answer, right? Right.)

"...Uh huh. And you... have no idea who I am, do you?" His wisdom of 14 will at least get him that much. "Well, this is pretty awkward, isn't it? Guess some introductions are in order." He sticks out a hand to shake. "I'm Stiles."

[instinct]

"Derek," Derek says, unnecessarily, as he shakes Stiles' hand. Squinting at him allll the while. "Am I supposed to know you?"

Because he knows he doesn't have his memories, oh boy does he ever, but this is the first time so far that it's really been... relevant. (Read: awkward.)
