The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Felicity just tells it like it is. All the knights are ridiculously attractive, so really, he'll fit right in, but the melodrama is certainly amusing and not making her inclined to walk away anytime soon.

"I'm sure you will. All that attention - it would kill a weaker man."

She's teasing. Mostly.

She tips her head to the side, considering him for a moment as she does. "So why the knights?" It clearly isn't because he's a people person. Looking at him she could probably tell he was bound for the Hide, but it's still worth trying to figure out why he's joining, aside from wanting to be somewhere where he can hit things.

"I wanted to wear armor," he answers, with a hint of a smile. Because seriously, isn't that something of a personal question? Or maybe even a pointless question, since surely they're all here to fight the same battle.

For some people it is. For others it isn't. For Felicity, it was a little of both which allowed her some leeway of a boiler plate answer and keeping the personal version to herself.

"Alright, Lancelot." She smirks at the smile. "I hear steel plating is very in this season. You definitely made the right career move." She tips her head a bit towards the doors leading to the main grounds. "Should we be getting you a horse and lance to go with it?"

Derek's brow furrows for a moment like he's considering this seriously. After a pause, he decides: "I don't think I know how to ride." Or if he ever did, he's forgotten (it's enough to drive him crazy, knowing what skills and knowledge he has but not remembering what he doesn't.)

But after a moment his expression lightens. "Or use a lance." He's more a teeth and claws kinda guy. "But you have to admit, the whole concept is a little old-fashioned."

"Ah-ah." She holds up a finger to her lips before shaking her head. "I wouldn't get too judgy about that around here. There's a guy who's probably twice your size who likes to swing around a pretty nice broadsword. People work with what their best at."

Personally Felicity doesn't really care. Having options at your disposal makes you a better fighter, and while she's best with a gun, she's letting Aedan teach her other weapons for a reason. Sometimes you don't have your best weapon on you. Sometimes you need to improvise.
