There are plenty of missions that return to the castle a success - most of them, even. The defeated air of the solemn group that returns from their diplomatic mission to Andres Isle to hear the demands of dictator Dimitris Sarandis makes it quite clear that this wasn't one of those.

Starting with Sarandis' actual demands - for all Knights to withdraw from Andres under penalty of death, or for Wynn to offer his own head in return for Thomas' safe return - and ending with the unexpected, disturbing confession from Kat that she intended to stay behind on the island because she had "fallen in love with" the dictator, the events of the island made it very clear that Sarandis was cannily playing his hand to get the Knights where he wanted them.

Fred Jr. shoves open the doors with his unnatural strength, stalking in ahead of the group into the lobby. Whoever's on desk duty isn't going to have to roll a high wisdom check to see that these people are pissed... and distraught... and a myriad of other emotions on the bad end of the scale.

*I am changing the date of the briefing log and Andres log/live session to have taken place in September, to avoid us being in backdated hell forever, and to allow for a September squiring ceremony before apps are closed. Carry on... in the future!

[ logan jerks his fist back, and after a beat, the claws snap back into his skin as he looks back over at her, grimacing. ] What gave it away.

Given that I can only imagine how often you're in here without an impending crisis, I'll ascribe it to a lucky guess.

[ She looks rather smug about the remark, too. With the claws away, she steps out of the doorway and approaches him. ]

You've been through your share of wars; you'll be going as well, I trust?

Wouldn't miss it. [ he doesn't actually sound all that enthused, however ] I could use a good fight about now.

Dimitris Sarandis was not responsible for what happened in Boston, Logan.

[ She says it carefully, avoiding the truth of who was responsible, because at the end of the day she's certain that they were. ]

I don't think I need remind you what could happen if he were to trap you within his facilities as he's trapped Thomas. Go into this searching for revenge or some kind of outlet, and your recklessness may well end you there.

When we're done, there won't be a facility left standing. I ain't worried about me in all this.

[ sometimes logan manages to forget, after all these years, that emma knows some other him, some stranger that's given her an eerie shadow of experience with him before he ever came to know her here. and then sometimes, comments like that serve as a stark reminder. ] Good thing I'm so damn one of a kind, then. [ the morbid humor is accompanied by a smirk that doesn't serve to dispel the look in his eyes ]

[ She pauses, darkly reflective. Then, apropos of nothing, she adds; ] I've heard Nathan made his way to London, as well.

None that I can sense. Granted, my psychic sense aren’t what they used to be.

[ And for some reason the Knights don’t have a Cerebro. Get on that shit. Her expression turns dour and she glances away. ]

[ Her voice takes on a sharp, protective quality. For all intents and purposes, Scott seems something of a lost cause. It usually isn't quite so difficult for clerics to rouse the victims of explosions. ]
