The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Alisha saw him at the squiring and thought he was a bit weird then. That really hasn't changed. So when she approaches there's very little preamble. Sorry Drax. ]

So what, is that some sort of fancy dress or something?

[Drax looks back at her with a frown.]

No. It is not a dress at all.

[He's not sure what she's... even referring to, but he's not wearing a dress.]

[arrested]

Not a dress. Fancy dress.

[ she looks at him like gdi he's so stupid for not keeping up with her, really how could anybody not know what she's talking about? ]

So what have you come as then?

What have I come as...?

[He looks kind of mystified at the question. Break it down for him. Just keep it straight-forward.]

[ She just gives him a look. A really long one. He is hard work. :| ]

You know that... outfit... costume... whatever it is. That some sort of geek thing, yeah?

[spinerip]

I'm not wearing a costume.

You're kidding right. You just... look like that? What, did you like, lose a bet or something?

[ geek can wait because jesus christ seriously? ]

I do not lose. At wagers or anything else!

[arrested]

Yeah with muscles like that I bet you don't. What are you, like a wrestler or something, yeah?

[spinerip]

I'm good at wrestling. It is more efficient to use knives, though, or my fists.

[arrested]

Knives. Right.

[ there's a bit of a pause ]

Are you touched in the head or something?

[spinerip]

[A brief pause, because why is she asking about touching his head? But his wis 14 means he’s pretty sure it’s a metaphor. And an insult.] I am not!

[arrested]

[ she's not going to argue with the big guy who likes knives. Well, not much. ]

So it's some sort of skin condition then, yeah?

[spinerip]

[Drax frowns. Though he remembers some things very clearly about his life, there are enough gaps that he's not entirely sure what the markings on his skin are. They don't seem weird to him, but he can't say for sure whether they're tattoos or just what the skin of his species looks like.

He shrugs one massive shoulder.]

It is my skin.

[arrested]

[ For some reason, that just... floors her. She looks a bit open mouthed. Like is this guy for real? Who knows. Maybe he's actually kinda interesting. Seriously, who knows.
