[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

[ a small beat and then: ] Who should I tell her is here?

[Myri has definitely had more experience with missions and surely knows better now than to give her very distinct name out, right??? RIGHT???

Not when she crit fails a wis check and just blurts out.]

Myri...

[affianced]

[ she's told to wait a few minutes, and it'd be a bit before she sees a figure making her way up the drive, picking her way carefully in heels as she makes it the gate, and presses a button to open it from within. she glances around outside as if afraid soldiers will come bearing down any moment, looking surprised and worried for myri immediately, but reaching to hug her. ] Myri, what are you -- what are you doing here?

[witchwoman]

[Myri hugs Lara back tightly.]

I needed to see you. Can we talk? Alone?

[She's not sure if Lara can leave the grounds right now without it coming off suspicious??? Should they go inside?? She'll leave that part up to Lara. She's mostly just hoping to get away from any potential prying ears or eyes.]

[affianced]

Of course. Are you alright? Is anyone--- [ after you?? coming to murder you????? we just don't know. ]

[witchwoman]

He doesn't know I'm here. [Hopefully it sounds like she means an old boyfriend and not, y'know... the evil dictator they're here to kill.]

[affianced]

Good. [ the word is said breathlessly, relief coloring her cheeks, but not entirely washing away the anxiety. she steers myri away from the gates, down the road. ] We... we should be safe to talk out here.

[witchwoman]

[Myri nods, but... No one really told her how much she was meant to be say??? The entire plan was just "contact lara." Fuck.]

We came back. All of us. All of us.

[ARE YOU PICKING UP WHAT SHE'S PUTTING DOWN???]

[affianced]

All of you? [ she raises an eyebrow ] You mean... the prisoner you rescued as well? They're... [ she cuts a glance over her shoulder, lowering her voice further ] They're still looking for him.

[witchwoman]

Yes, he's here. As well as ... [Oh. Mark. Does she tell Lara? Is that rude?? Should she let him tell her himself? INTERNAL CONFLICT.]

[affianced]

The rest of you. [ a slow, grateful smile curves across her face, and she shakes her head in disbelief. ] I shouldn't have doubted you'd be back. Are you really here to-- To stop him?

[witchwoman]

We are. [She nods, finding Lara's smile catching as one of her own slowly forms #lesbians.]

But we need your help. [Oh look. She remembered the plan.]

[affianced]

Of course. Whatever you need.

[witchwoman]

[Taking a deep breath, Myri tries to think of how to even ask this.]

We need you to go to the castle, to draw Kat out somehow. We need to get her away from him.

[affianced]

Now? You mean, to... invite her over here?

[witchwoman]

If you think it would be safe for her, then yes. We just need to get her out of there. We need to bring her home.

[affianced]

And what are you going to do?

[witchwoman]

Give you back the Andres that's been long forgotten, a place not to be feared, a home you can be proud to keep.

[Which is probably more inspirational than just 'we're gonna kill him dead.' but really it means the same thing.]

And... restore the rightful king.

[okay I guess we're talking about this. Myri quickly weighed the pros and cons of whether or not to tell Lara. But this isn't really the time or place for shocking reveals. And considering how complicated it could be with everyone and their mother being engaged to lara at some point, it might be better to prep her now when they're alone.]

[affianced]

The rightful-- [ she repeats the words with bewilderment, but it seems to sink in pretty quickly, shock replacing confusion, as she searches myri's face for confirmation, stopping dead in her tracks. ] You--

[witchwoman]

[She nods, ducking her head and lowering her voice.]

He's been with us the whole time. None of us knew until this plan was set in motion. Apparently one of my closest friends is meant to be king.

[affianced]

But Marcus... is alive? He's really alive? [ her lips finally quirk into an emotional smile as the shock gives way to understanding. ] You've known him all this time? Is he-- How--

I'm sorry, I-- I have so many questions...

[witchwoman]

He is. Alive and well and one of the bravest people I know. [Despite his own doubts.] He came to the Knights for protection, but took opportunity to train so that he might return and restore order. He's waiting with the others.

[Which is Myri's way of hinting that yes- he knows she went to find Lara.]

[affianced]

He's here. [ her eyelids flutter a bit with the abruptness of it all, and she peers off into the darkness like he's going to be hiding behind a fucking bush or something. ] Oh Myri, it's-- it's really happening, isn't it? [ she shakes her head against a bright smile, reaching out to squeeze her hand. ] Almost ten years, we've held onto hope. We're ready - more than ready - to help put Marcus on the throne again. Where he belongs.

[witchwoman]

[Myri squeezes Lara's hand back, nodding. For as happy as she is to help restore Andres, there's a bit of sadness lingering at the thought of Mark staying here. She knows it's what's right, but she'll miss him terribly.]

I can take you to him. And you'll help us? You'll get Kat out of there?

[affianced]

I'll do everything I can, without putting her in more danger.
