WHO || Lanston Wellington, Drax the Destroyer, Wolverine, Nathan Young, Faith Lehane, Maxwell Briggard, Sam Winchester, Rocket, Eric Carpenter, Cora Hale, Dimitri Belikov, Alanna, Jaime Lannister, Klaus Mikaelson, Gus Harrison
WHAT || A team of Knights is tasked to assault the site of Shadowkind experimentation on Andres, free the Shadowkind within, and recover Sir Bancroft, if he's being held there.
WHERE || Andres Isle
WHEN || September 19th, 2014
HOW || Actionspam
[ Having spent months scrying on areas of the Island scouted out by Sir Bancroft and Sir Chessing, Hasmed is able to send a few groups to the Island via greater teleport spells, with a fairly small margin for error, as to where they're going to land. The Shadowkind prison teams land flawlessly, and the very big group appears in a clearing in the middle of the woods, abruptly finding themselves surrounded by trees and mostly darkness. The moon is in its last quarter, and with the trees so thick above them, there are only patches of light that filter down here and there. Those with darkvision or lowlight vision can see perfectly, but anyone with normal vision may find themselves squinting to see much of anything.
The teleport spell only works if the entire group is physically connected, so when they arrive, Wolverine yanks his hand off Nathan's shoulder, and gives Drax a Look like stop touching me if you value your hand. Eric runs his Drakenet app to determine their location, then announces: "Dead on." In other words, no spell mishap sending them miles off target. Beside them all, Lan's mount, Daisy, stamps her feet slightly, obviously unnerved by the magic. He whispers "Whoa, there" and reins her in, causing her to settle. ]

[Yeah, that's all the helpfulness Cora has to contribute to this conversation. She's all for running if that's what's heading their way, but she's not leaving without Gus and Mellie, so she's holding still for now, glancing to Gus for a cue as to what to do.]
Shutting the computers down wasn't an option?
no subject
[Nevermind the fact that...that was part of the problem.]
What we need to do now is get them to safety. Wynn's aware of the situation.
no subject
Take them through the woods, get them to the boats. In the meantime--
[ a crashing sound breaking through the woods cuts him off, and he pales a bit, glancing back. ] Helm's blood, one of them's on us.
[ 'one of them', indeed, as what breaks out through the trees, felling those in its path, is a massive reptilian monster, grayish in color, with a light yellow belly, and amber eyes glinting off from its six - count 'em, six - heads. it has to be about twenty feet long, and lets out a roar as it smashes towards them across the clearing. ]
There's not enough of us to hold it off! Carpenter, leave us some of yours, and go!
no subject
[Here comes Sam with his walking textbook brain. Aren't you glad he came along?]
Don't cut off any of its heads unless you're prepared to deal with two more. And watch out for its fire breath!
no subject
Cora, go with Mellie and the prisoners.
[ this is an order, pup. because the best way to deal with hydras is... also fire. he has read a book once or twice. mellie will now follow cora for the rest of the mission. dont touch her puppy. ]
no subject
So she just nods in agreement, one hand moving to Mellie's shoulder to indicate for her to follow and head off with the rest of the prisoners.]

I'll stick it out with Puff the magic ... hydra.

[ Aw-struck, Alanna takes a minute to decide on where to go. Turning to Eric, she nods to him. Though the responsible part of her knows she ought to go with them to carry the prisoners off, a more reckless side of her is rather excited for the opportunity to slay the beast (though she does heed Sam's warning).
More importantly, though, there is her healer's training to consider. ]
I'll stay behind to see to anyone who needs healing.
no subject
I got her.
no subject
Good luck.
[To those staying behind before he turns and starts helping the shadowkind away from the enormous creature.]
no subject
[Yeah, he's staying, did anyone ever doubt?]

[Wat.
He'll stick to his gun for this one, I think, which he pulls out now yep. o.o]

dragonhydra. but ice to the face might sting a little. (6 bludgeoning dmg, 9 cold dmg to anyone in the 20 foot radius.) while the storm is raging, he fires off his last bolt of lightning into the middle of the storm for extra damage. :) (last heroic surge atk 24, concentration 28, electricity dmg 20, ref save of 15 for half) ]no subject
But he totally disarmed that orange guard before sending him on his way so, despite not having brought his fancy Excalibur pistol like he probably should have ~just in case~, he will just use the confiscated weapon and follow Faith's lead for now.
Idk if this thing has any penalties but his attacks were only 19 and 18 so I doubt he's even hitting anything anyway (damage 2 and 1 if he did how do i shot bullets wtf).]
no subject
[Because sometimes, you just need a battle cry.
Jaime raises his sword and urges his horse forward into a charge with a full BAB's worth of power attack (atk 23, dmg 34).]

no sooner has that realization sunk in, than all six heads release gouts of flame in every direction. jaime and lan are the only ones unfortunate enough to be close enough to get scorched, and must make a reflex save dc 18 or take 18 fire damage. the reflex save will make it 9 instead. his save will also count for his horse.
♬ down with the sickness - disturbed
lan doesn't make the save at all, and his teeth clack together as the fire licks across his skin, staggering him back half a step as he tries to raise an armored forearm in front of his face. when he draws it away, he drops his sword to the ground with a heavy clang, shoulders heaving up and down with a strange exaggerated motion, a strange, uncontrolled anger burning in his eyes. it looks as if his skin is boiling, bubbling beneath the surface, and he casts a glance aside just enough to see where eric has drawn his team off to the forest line, where the soldier has paused, hesitating. ] GO, DAMN YOU! [ the word is growled ferociously, strangely deep and guttural, and he lashes his head back, and snarls at jaime: ] Stay of the way, boy. [ he barely sounds like himself anymore, and his head thrashes strangely to the side, another growl bursting out of his throat, as his entire body starts to spasm. there's a horrible popping noise from his neck, and his shoulders seem to stretch and hump upwards, his legs extending, and then bowing backwards with a sickening crack. his hair grows thicker, coarser, spilling across skin and bursting out of the seams of his clothes, while his fingers elongate to dangerous, wicked, knife-like points.
the roar he releases as the change completes rivals the deafening tones of the hydra, and he crouches down on all fours, powerful legs tensing - and then he springs forward, pouncing at the beast and raking with claws and teeth (atk 34; atk 30; atk 37; dmg 41), sinking fangs into its side and drawing more shrieks from the monster as he mercilessly tears at it. ]

A well-hidden, constant condition of his.
Blinking fast, she pushes through it, charging the hydra alongside Lan's animal form, bringing her sword down. Given how useless her spell had been, a full charge seems safer. She steadies both hands on her sword as she brings it forward to stab through the dragon's hide—or attempt, anyway (atk nat 20 for 29 total, dmg 14). ]
no subject
Damn.
[She's not really sure what to do, but with everyone moving in close to the hydra, she wants to take the same risk and charges forward. She moves toward the side opposite where Alanna has struck the thing with a sword and tries to just shove her fist through the hide and reach for something to pull out... She doesn't want to give it a chance to heal, so if she can pull it off, she'll just leave it half-way in and half-way out of the thing.
atk: 22 | dmg: 18 (ignore 2pts hardness - for reference) ]

He did not see that coming.
But for the moment, the monster seems to be on their side. He raises his sword again and stabs at the monster again. Twice. (atk 25 dmg 23 with double penetration, atk 13).]
The wounds heal up!
[But he's still... stabbing. What else can he do?]
