[ The two groups responsible for evacuation of Shadowkind travel to the island via stealth boat, which puts their arrival a little behind everyone else's.  They run aground not far from both the woods, and the harbor.   Edain grins out at the sleepy island, dressed in full armor, hand on the hilt of his sword.  Anastacia frowns as she watches the woods, however, clearly more on edge about what they have to do. ]

From here, everything looks so peaceful...

[Turning her attention on the final beast, Helen trains her weapon on it and fires.

[ in the most bizarre crit fail ever, helen somehow manages to SHOOT THE GUN OUT OF MAX'S HANDS. he withdraws his hand quickly, shaking it and wincing as the gun clatters to the dock, and edain moves to attack the remaining ape, sticking his sword into its back (atk 18, dmg 13). it lets out a howl, arching backwards, but is still wriggling on the blade, barely alive. ]

[It's almost weirder to feel completely fine while he's staring down at his arm on the ground. He knows he should be screaming in pain, but it doesn't hurt. Like his wrist no longer hurts him after so many years of his hand being gone. His wrist that's now lying on the ground with the rest of his arm.

He drops his sword and draws his gun, leveling it at the ape (atk..... crit..... fail.....)]

[ Adi manages to get over looking completely offended at how ridiculous everyone's being and stab at the ape, which hopefully isn't too difficult since it's currently skewered on a blade ?? (atk 17, dmg 3). ]

[Reasoning with King Kongs evil spawn. That's a new one even for her but Frankie - whose face might have mirrored Ric's for a second there - at least recovers fast enough to turn her gun on - Ape #2 Atk 24, 13 Penetration Dmg if it hits.]

[ and frankie takes the ape right between the eyes, and it slumps over, completely dead. anastacia scans the forest line to make sure nothing else is coming, before turning to tell hook: ] We should get you back on the boat.

[Bambi manages to suck in a shocked breath as the last ape goes down before she runs to Alice and THROWS HER ARMS AROUND HER... in an unfathomable and un-Bambi-like gesture of affection.

[ she pats bambi on the back gently, managing to quell the awkward for comfort. (she has sisters ok, she knows how to do hugs.) while she is doing that, she uses her other hand to squeeze max's arm in silent thanks for shielding her. ]

[Hook looks helplessly at his jammed gun before putting it back in his holster and stooping to pick up his sword again. He looks down at the arm hopelessly. Getting used to having just one hand had taken time, though by now it was nearly as easy as two had been.]

It can be reconnected, right? There are spells for that? I've heard they can regrow my hand, they can also regrow my bloody arm!

I know Solace is capable of regenerating limbs, and I'm certain he'll be happy to help you as soon as the island is secure.

[And to join the team of people who are having A Day is part of the prison group! They are covered in the viscera of a giant slug monster. Cora is especially disgusting because the thing puked on her first, and she has a bullet wound that she hasn't dealt with, but details. With them also comes a bear that's looking kind of green, and some of the prisoners that they rescued who are looking for a way out. And a horse, because they've got Daisy too.

What they find is apparently a guy with one arm, and some kind of creatures that Cora doesn't even want to know right now. She just glances over them for a moment before actually speaking.]

Looks like we missed the party.

[ Lydia, Stiles, and Koraith return right on time to join the party, apparently. The redhead comes up along Cora's side, eyes widening at the sight of Hook's, well, distinct lack of hook. And arm. She glances around at the other hastily. So even though Stiles made sure they got out of their trap unscathed, not everyone was so lucky. ]

[Brantley walks toward Hook while looking at the new arrivals.]

Uhh..... Crabs, monkeys, and panther. [And now with a horse and a bear.]

Kind of remind me of a school trip. [Except that school trip wasn't trying to kill him.

Brantley squats down and picks up something from the ground. And now he got a hook.]

I'll help you carry... this until we someone can find someone to reattach it. If you don't mind, of course. [He tries to smile as he makes the friendly gesture, but holding a detached limb is always awkward, right? Well, this gives a new meaning to the phrase "holding someone else's arm."]

[Helen sidesteps towards Hook... well, can't really call him that anymore, can we? She steps over towards the one armed man and lowers her voice, speaking to him as privately as she can while they're all standing in a large circle.]

I understand it's very traumatic, but we'll all be losing life and limb- quite literally if we don't do best to hurry. Between Sir O'Keefe and I, we should be able to do something for the pain. But you're good enough with that blade that I don't want your hands occupied holding onto a severed limb. The clerics will do what they can once we all return home. Please, Sir Jones... We still have work to do.
