The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Seeing as I've spent the last three months tracking Elena and Kyp with Dean... [She lets out a sigh as she launches into an explanation.] We tracked them as far as Andres and got back here just in time to ship out. Kinda been out of the loop on all the Castle comings and goings.

[She considers him for a long moment before speaking again.]

What happened to you then?

[Rose acknowledges the 'thank you' with a brief meeting of eyes, face otherwise a mask before she's back to scanning the room. (WS 24).]

Have you spoken to her yet?

Probably won't help. My brother hardly remembers her. [ He waits a beat. 'They were together' stays on the tip of his tongue. But, it's not something Rose needs to know. Elena, on the other hand - probably at least deserves to know. ]

You have a brother?! [Wait for it. Wait. For. It. (Wis 21 - finally.]

Salvatore! You're Stefan Salvatore's brother? [Ding.] Elena, knows Stefan? [Ding. Ding.] I swear to god this is all some sort of cosmic fucking joke! [Ding. Ding. Ding. (Will Save: Crit Fail).]

[ His will save (16) stops him from saying something like "Tell me about it." ] Yes. Yes. And probably. [ But, seriously? It is. Also, raise your hand if you're happy for a change of topic. ] I am Stefan Salvatore's older brother. So, you've met the paragon of fun.

Yuh! He's my new Squire. [Which, appears to ruffle her more than just a little if the look on her face is anything to go by. (WS 12).] I hadn't made the connection.

Yeah... I was offered the promotion a while back but... [She didn't want a sympathy promotion just because her Knight was killed?!] Timing.

That - it - is... [You don't even know.] You're Squired to Dumage? [ (WS 16) Though Rose could make a Nat 20 Will Save and still say that like it's a bad thing and she doesn't even know the woman. Elena. She told her things.] No idea but, yeah. Probably a good plan. Have you spoken to Wynn yet?

[Because Rose is a Wynn-Stan.] Cause he could probably tell you where she is seeing as, she didn't come to Andres with the rest of us. [A beat.] And he should know you're back.

I'll put it on the list. [ Which... really just consists of check in with Stefan, stalk/do something about Elena and ... that's it. ]

Do it sooner rather than later. Last thing he needs to be worrying about is more rogue Knights. [Ayup. She Crit-Failed that Will Save.]

[Rose would argue she was saying that for Wynn's sake but... She does realize what he's getting at (Wis 19) and is aware that she hadn't exactly been Miss Congeniality during their first meeting.]

Last time you saw me I was on the back of a really bad, really long day. [There's a moment of hesitation, lips pressed into a grim line before she continues. (WS 10)] Luthir, the Knight who was killed in New York? I am... was, his Squire. [A beat.] I was also part of the group of Knights who were in New York during the Shadowkind massacre.

[If he does a little math, all that happened while Elena was fleeing the Castle with Kyp.]

So, a whole lotta bad - and then I blow into town all 'Elena, Elena.' [ He gets it. ]

Pretty much. [There's a tiny flicker of something just at hearing Elena's name, though it's not clear if it's a flare of anger or maybe even hurt but Rose schools her expression back to neutral with a sweep of her hand as she tucks a lock of dark hair behind her ear. (WS 15).]

Trust me. If I really hated you I would have punched you in the face. [Even managing a wry, half grin. No bluff check needed. That part is 100% true. Just ask... Everyone Rose has ever disliked.]

[Rose had yelled at Myri. Myri. Even she knew that on an irrational rage scale, she'd been hitting an 11 that day.]

Yeah - [She shakes her head, a huff of laughter escaping though it's not exactly amusement.] I seem to have a thing with brothers right now.

[Winchesters. Salvatores. Your life Rose.]

I only met him tonight but he seems alright. [Her gaze slides back to Damon.] Any insider tips for getting him to do what I want?

With Stefan? [ Normally, he'd have a sarcastic remark, maybe real insight but - as he tries to grasp for specific memories but nothing stands out. He shakes his head, pointing upwards at the vagueness of the veil. ] I should.
