The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ lila finds it very easy to abandon sylar to his own devices now that he's properly in the castle and freshly squired. she doesn't feel the need to protect him from her insane coworkers anymore.

but she does feel the need to do... something. which is why she steps up in front of wynn. she doesn't look sheepish, expression carefully neutral. she was bubbly and excited the last time they really spoke, high off her promotion. she's high off of sylar being squired, right now, but still less animated. ]

Hi... Sir. [ you know it's really hard to say "i'm sorry i lied to you and eric for over a year". ]

Sir Zacharov.

I thought this conversation might be coming.

[bittersweeter]

Yeah. [ she ain't even frontin' anymore tbh. she glances back at sylar a moment before her shoulders square. ] I can't exactly say I'm sorry, 'cause it would be a lie.

[ and, you know, she just took that oath to NOT DO THAT. ] I was trying to protect him.

[wynn]

He attributes his desire to reform entirely to you, you know.

[ there are few things that can disarm lila completely and that right there is one of them. she knows it, of course, sylar's told her that himself and she fought him on it, demanding that he give himself more credit. but knowing he told wynn the same thing is something else entirely. her mouth falls open a little, mismatched eyes widening. ]

He does it for himself, he just needed... a push in the right direction.

[wynn]

We don't always save lives with swords and trumpets of war, Sir Zacharov. Sometimes it is the subtler pushes that are the greater victories.

[bittersweeter]

[ any protest that she didn't save anyone won't be rolling off her tongue. she knows what sylar's done, she knows she could have stopped him sooner and with more finality, but those people, those lives? they meant far less to her than sylar and she's not about to feign some kind of remorse when she doesn't feel it.

but she looks away, curls bouncing across her shoulders. she may not feel regret, but it doesn't mean wynn's words don't come mingled with her own chagrin. ]

He wants to do good. Thank you for giving him that chance.

[wynn]

It will not be easy for him. If you wish to thank me, you need only promise me something.

That you will look to remain honest with me about his progress. I've asked the same of him. No matter what.

[bittersweeter]

I will.

[ and she is the being entirely honest. she'll do anything to help sylar. even if it means talking to wynn behind his back. ]

He is fortunate, then, to have you.

[bittersweeter]

He's something. [ ugh she's so in love with him it's disgusting. ] Thanks again.

[ she smiles and turns to peace out before it gets hella awk. ]
