The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

No, the arm thing was because of a leopard with snakes on its face. We had a gangbang of monsters.

I... I can't decide whether I'm glad I wasn't there or jealous! What a fascinating menagerie. I don't suppose anyone thought to take pictures?

It's unfortunate those poor creatures had to die. If the rumors are even half as bad as they sound... it wasn't their fault they became what they became.

They lost my compassion when they tried to rip me open. Maybe they should have laid down and looked sad while Sarah McLachlan played. As it stands, attempted eating makes me lose my "friend to all creatures" feelings.

Oh, of course, I just can't help but wonder what they'd be like without all the... meddling. Perhaps they wouldn't have tried to rip you open at all.

I dunno. I think snakes and panthers are predisposed to being the kill-kill-kill type when they're not merged into some hideous abomination. The monkeys could be cool though.

Perhaps, but... many would say the same of my species. I know snakes and panthers aren't sentient in the same way, but even so. Killing for food is very different from killing for pleasure... though I imagine their prey would find the difference an extremely subtle one.

Considering I am not on the food chain of either of those animals, I think you may have a point. At least they freed the prisoners before they could become sad, scary lab abominations.

Interestingly enough, you are on the food chain of my species. Or... were. For obvious reasons, that doesn't happen much these days. Not in... civilized areas at least.

I wouldn't, of course! [She touches her chest, eyes widening.] I'm a vegetarian. I don't even eat non-sentient animals.

It's... not such an issue here. I have no family this side of the veil.

Oh, but don't feel badly for me! The knights are like a big family. And now I have one of my friends from the Pathfinder society here to join me. It really isn't so bad!

Y'know, that's always struck me as super cool- not the getting stuck here part, but the fact that so many people can show up from beyond the Veil who actually know each other. Especially when you consider there's so many people coming from different Shadow Worlds.

I know, the odds of such a thing happening must be fairly astronomical, and yet it isn't as uncommon as you'd think. I wonder if there are any theories on that phenomenon.

Probably. I'd still like to do a census on the castle just to check the numbers every month. [she sighs a bit.] God, I love a good numbers crunch.

If you do, you must show me your findings! It sounds fascinating.

I'll post them for the entire Hoard. [and maybe lis'sa senpai will notice me.] I gotta do something between missions.

It's good to have a project. I've mostly just been researching whatever strikes my fancy. There are so many books!

I have to curb my enthusiasm for learning and stick to being knowledgeable about specific things or I'll just get competitive. I mean... Name one other person in this place who can do forgeries better than me.
