Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

[lydia was wondering how will would look cleaned up? now she knows. it's like the end of she's all that up in here. except lydia isn't freddie prinze jr and has 0 chance of getting lucky with will tonight. ANYWAY since she invited him he's going to be nice and show up and say hello. and then probably run away forever.]

[Wow I am totally paying attention and realizing that this party is before the squiring stuff shhhh. Basically ignore where this was going. I'm dumb. Or just been sick for a few days...]

I'm glad to see you've decided to join our numbers. I was starting to feel like the other sects had started a campaign that I was unaware of.

[Rose had seriously considered not coming to the after party at all, her own Knighting not something she particularly felt like celebrating, so much so that she hasn't bothered to formally invite anyone to come - Aside from a casual mention of it to Dean perhaps. This was one of those things that she'd pictured more than once in her head and now that it had come, the reality didn't even come close to the fantasy, mostly because it was a reminder of everyone who wasn't here, of those she couldn't invite and even those who probably wouldn't come if she did.

She at least, is here, which was about as much as anyone could probably expect from her under the circumstances and while she hasn't gone to a hell of a lot of effort to dress up, her jeans and shirt are clean and at least she's wearing the nicer of her leather jackets and not the one that had so many scuff marks and blood stains that it should probably be burnt already. (Will Save 14 - To not skip. Disguise 12.)

Rose is likely to have slipped in behind the other new Knights and if you hadn't seen her getting Knighted then you'd be forgiven for thinking she wasn't one of the honored guests, the brunette heading straight for the alcohol, getting herself something stronger than usual before slipping into a chair, letting the hum of celebrations and storytelling carry on around her while she kills an hour or two drinking and pretending that this isn't the last place she wants to be right now.]

[Sweets flashes her a bright smile when he sees her, shaking his head a bit as he does.]

[He places a hand at the small of her back, gently guiding her around to the refreshments area.]

Yeah? How was the Hide party? Any arm wrestling contests break out?

Yeah, of course. You forgot to toss in 'won the lottery and definitely gonna share it with my buddy Stiles.' [He bumps her lightly with his hip.]

Thanks for keeping an eye on my familiar, by the way. [His little baby owl awwwww. That I still... need to name...]

[The little half smile he manages shows just how amusing and a little surprising he finds that. Despite doing great in school, Stiles has just never seen himself as the scholarly type. Not like her, anyway.]

I guess we're both just looking to use our other skills. Besides, the library will always be there, right?

And the lab. I asked Helen: she said we were welcome to use it regardless of sect. But on a mission, I'd rather be talking someone down than stuck behind a computer.

No different than I've felt since I got here.

[ She shrugs her shoulders. ]

I was still in high school on the other side of the Veil. Next to sudden independence and skipping out on the remainder of my education, any other change feels … negligible, at best. Which reminds me: what do you know about university opportunities for knights?

[ Well, go Will. Lydia looks him over with an unabashed kind of interest, and then decides to smile after the fact. At least he knows it's genuine interest, seeing how discriminating she is about who gets her attention. ]
