Between the various members of the wedding party, everything comes together just in time for the big event. Within a few weeks' time, the day has finally arrived. Whether they've met or spoken to the bride and groom, the entire isle of Andres is invited to this event. Cool colors are prominent throughout the ceremony set up on the Andres coast. From the bridesmaids dresses to the flower arrangements to the beautiful blue sky and sea, it's a very calming atmosphere.

Once the ceremony is finished, everyone is invited to the reception, held at the Andres palace. There's food, drink, and music. Tables are available, but with such an open guest list, there's no assigned seating- other than the main table up front where the wedding party and their guests will sit last supper style.

Only to me, but I'm a detective. [he smirks around his glass] The whole maid of honor thing is sort of a target on Myri's back for the nonbelievers. I figured you'd be pressed.

I made sure it's what she wanted, but she doesn't need to do things like this for my benefit.

[She glances around the room, taking another sip of her drink.]

Showing up to a squiring party is one thing, but this? No one needs to be judging her. Especially not today.

Everyone knows Myri's compassionate to a fault. If anything, her forgiving you and wanting you and loving you should be an indication for the rest of the damn place to get off your back.

[Myri has more reason to be mad at Elena than anyone, except Spike, after all.] And if they're judging her, I know a few places in this palace where no one will notice if I smack them with something heavy.

Or it's an indication that she'll forgive literally anyone.

[Which might also be true. Elena never really asked for forgiveness, didn't expect it. But if anyone was going to give it to her, she would have guessed Myri, whether she deserved it or not.]

Oh, no worries there. They have me to be afraid of, too. Everyone knows that I could ruin lives if I really wanted to.

She won't forgive Sarandis. Or Dumage, probably.

[Myri has gotten a lot darker since the days of old- she's not just sweet, sensible Myri.]

Then I guess there's nothing to worry about, huh? [He pokes her in the shoulder.] No judging Myri or risk doppelwrath.

I'm just telling you what they might think. But given the right circumstances? I think she'd forgive the latter.

[She hasn't seen this darkness like everyone else has. Not as much, anyway.]

Damn right. Would you mess with me?

[She raises an eyebrow at him.]

Maybe. Dumage would have to pull one hell of a selfless act out of her ass. [Des is indifferent to Dumage at this stage of the game. He can't judge her and he can't hate her for making a call Elena also made, but he's also massively unsure of her. She's a true blue con, that one.

He meets her arched eyebrow with a scrutinizing one.] Oh no, I wouldn't dare. [Sound a little more insincere, Des. Teasing~]

Well, if we take what Spike said at face value, she's already pulling one. Like it or not, it's not that far off from what I did. If she's not lying.

[But she shrugs her shoulders a bit. Doing what Dumage had done had gotten Jade killed, so she understood why everyone was pissed. But they should have been able to protect her from one guy, and they'd failed miserably.]

Careful, now. I could do some damage to your carefully crafted reputation.

[Don't make her steal your face and watch chick flicks in the common room and cry into her popcorn. She'd be very convincing.]

[yeah, des doesn't want to think of that. if he hadn't run the hell off to drink his sorrows when he led jade to the stage, he would have been there to help. he ducks his eyes and shrugs, only looking up again to shoot her an affronted look.]

My carefully crafted reputation took a hit when I started dating a man. [not... quite convincing though. elena, what would you DO?!]

A man gorgeous enough to make anyone's head turn in about a half second. You never stood a chance, and everyone is jealous, whether they can admit it to themselves or not.

[She's raising an eyebrow at you, Des. Don't even try and argue with her about this.]

[Des snorts, but he cannot argue.] Well, I don't love him for his looks. [a beat, and then he adds:] And he started it! They can blame his terrible taste.

Of course, not. But it's a damn good perk.

[She just laughs.]

You're not that bad a catch yourself, you know. Try not to sell yourself too short.

Oh, don't stoop to flattery now that you've subtly threatened me, Gilbert. That's just diabolical. [He throws an arm around her shoulders and gives her a one-armed hug.] It's good to be home, huh?

[doubletake]

Hey, that's your fault. I was originally threatening everyone else.

[Her arm slips easily around his waist, squeezing back.]

Yeah, I guess it is, isn't it.

[his eyes find myri in the crowd and his smile widens a bit, coming easily at the sight of her so excited.] Look at her. Belle of the ball. Hard to believe she was scared to death a month ago.

[Elena frowns slightly.]

Don't remind me. I never want to see her like that ever again.

[nothingsodivine]

And we won't. [let's be real, everyone worth their salt is gonna protect myri and myri can protect herself quite well these days too. she'll be fine.]

Love's weird like that, innit? One minute you've got the world bearing down on you, and the next you think nothing else exists but you and that one person who makes everything just... stop.

[doubletake]

[Elena raises her eyebrows at Des, though her chuckle is slightly less than happy.]

I wouldn't really know, Des.

[nothingsodivine]

[des looks down at her, expression softening, and he squeezes her shoulders.] C'mon. Let's take a walk.

[doubletake]

[Her expression alters slightly before she nods.]

Air sounds good to me.
