Between the various members of the wedding party, everything comes together just in time for the big event. Within a few weeks' time, the day has finally arrived. Whether they've met or spoken to the bride and groom, the entire isle of Andres is invited to this event. Cool colors are prominent throughout the ceremony set up on the Andres coast. From the bridesmaids dresses to the flower arrangements to the beautiful blue sky and sea, it's a very calming atmosphere.

Once the ceremony is finished, everyone is invited to the reception, held at the Andres palace. There's food, drink, and music. Tables are available, but with such an open guest list, there's no assigned seating- other than the main table up front where the wedding party and their guests will sit last supper style.

[Wisdom 19-- yeah, she remembers him from the Round Table room before Andres, and she's heard a few things about he and Rose on the Doppelhunt, but no more than to know that he stuck with her when everyone else left.] Oh, right, I remember that.

[She also remembers him while on the mission on Andres, and how more than a few times she thought he was kind of... fanatical... for lack of a better word, but after getting to know Rose and just a bit more about their situation (though not all of it by half), she sees him in a different light. And at this moment, an appreciative one. She quirks her brow, a tiny smile lifting the corners of her lips as she looks at Rose with knowing eyes.] If I remember correctly [and a Wis check of 16 says she certainly does] he was a very fine example of manhood. That must've been hard, having to endure that for three months, all by yer lonesome.

[Her tone is teasing, light and in no way trying to be offensive. She's giving Rose the opportunity to talk a bit about it, if she wants to, while also affording her the chance to keep things from getting heavy.]

Oh yeah, very hard. [Grin growing wide and yet, if she’s being honest?] Actually… [She shakes her head, a look that says ‘believe it or not’.] We spent most of those three months butting heads. Couldn’t stand each other.

[Dean was about as easy to misjudge as Rose could be at times, neither making the best of first impressions and when you combine that with Dean’s tendency to speak without thinking or caring who he might offend and Rose’s tendency to shoot her mouth off… It was a wonder they didn’t kill each other in those three months.]

And then, well you know. Living out of a car and motel rooms? You get to know a person pretty well. [And about a thousand other reasons that Rose probably couldn’t put into words.]

The fact that he’s easy on the eyes might have helped just a bit. [Though that’s likely more Rose joking, than truth and she does seem to relax even more talking about him and there’s no doubting that she genuinely cares for him, more than just somebody she’s casually started dating.]

[She leans her head on her hand, resting her elbow on the table as Rose talks. Though they were fast friends and hadn't had a lot of time to get to know each other, Alainn notices that as she talks she opens up, still cautious but much more relaxed as she goes on. It's a step for them and Alainn wanted to nurture it as best she could.]

Aye, I'd guess that would draw two people close after a while, no matter how much ye disagreed at first, looks aside [chuckle]. It gave ye enough time to see each other for who ye really are, not just what ye chose to show to the world, yeah?

[Something close to surprise touches Rose's features, mostly because she's never had anyone be able to find the right words for how and why things changed for her and Dean. It was more than just, they grew on each other. When Alainn said they got to see who they really were and not just what they chose to show the world?]

Yeah... [A chuckle passing her lips.] That was it, exactly. [And while she doesn't need to explain it, Alainn's also right in seeing that the more comfortable Rose is, the more she opens up.] The whole... tracking Kyp thing. It was personal for me and he didn't have to come, could have bailed at any time but instead he had my back, from start to finish. I don't know a lot of people who would have done that.

[Something in the way she speaks showing the very real depth of feeling she has when it comes to Dean and yet in true Rose fashion, she just as quickly turns it into a joke;]

It's a big change from thinking the only thing we had in common was a set of matching head-wounds from the first time we met. [A beat.] Long story involving a Minotaur and the Mob.

Ye'll have to tell me that story sometime, it sounds like a blast. [She grins, knowing that levity is a necessary part of Rose and her emotions, mainly bcuz they are the same person like that. She's got you, gurl.]

With as personal as it was for ye to chase Kyp, I can only imagine how havin' him along with ye must've felt. No matter how against the grain ye rubbed each other at the start, neither of ye would've stuck with it if ye hadn't been as invested, or as loyal, or as stubborn. All traits ye came to see in each other, and grew to respect. [She has a faraway look in her eyes as she speaks, but her smile is genuine and sincere as she continues.] Yer lucky, both of ye.

Yeah… [A smile touches her lips and it’s not forced but genuine, a softness to it that’s rarely seen from Rose but it had been a long, hard few months leading up to Andres and she’s just now starting to feel everything fall into place, to actually feel like she belongs here, not just with the Knights but this side of the veil. She’s happy, and it’s been a long time since she’s been able to say that, long before everything that happened before she hit the road with Dean.] We are.

Anyway - [Straightening a little as a chuckle rises up.] Man he’s turning me into one of those people who gushes about their boyfriend. [Sweeping her hair back behind her ear and shaking her head.] I guess it’s just nice to be able to talk about ya know? I haven’t done a whole lot of that since we got together. [For reasons. Awkward, Rose was technically seeing somebody when she and Dean got together, reasons.]

Seriously though. That dress? You can’t tell me you’re wearing it just for yourself? [Well, she might be but Rose still found it hard to believe you could look like Alainn, be as nice as Alainn and not have a line of men going out the door all vying for her attention. Wisdom – idec Rose has eyes.]

[her smile in answer is just as genuine, happiness lacing her eyes as she watches Rose as she speaks about Dean. Yeah, girl had it bad.] I'm all ears, anytime ye need someone to talk to. [haha pointy-eared elfy-pun]

[A blush steals up her cheeks at the compliment, eyes darting around furtively before catching on someone in the crowd and she swallows, looking back at Rose as she turns in her seat more so that her back is to whoever she spotted (I wonder who it could be??).] Uh, not exactly, no. I kinda just wanted to... show off a bit... [a fact that has her embarrassed as all hell, by the sound of it.]

[She really does but apparently is pretty okay with that.] Yeah I give it a week before you get sick of hearing about him. [Chuckling as she takes a sip of her drink.

Oh Alainn, if you want to sneak something like that past a Dhampir you'll have to do better than that, her smile shifting to something more mischievous thanks to that Spot 31 & Sense Motive 27.]

Uh huh. [Eyebrows raising.] But not for anyone in particular... [Read: Oh yeah she's onto you lady.]

[Her blush deepens as she fidgets with her empty glass, eyes darting over her shoulder involuntarily before whipping back to Rose. The embarrassment is clear in her voice as she answers-] I wouldn't say that...

[She opens her mouth a few times, but nothing comes out so she just sits there awkwardly.]

Really?! Not even a hint? [Grin widening and while she doesn't take great pleasure in Alainn's embarrassment, well she's still Rose and Alainn doesn't get off that easy.]

And after I gave you the sappy review of my relationship with Dean... [Maybe she'll let it drop. Eventually. Until next time.]

[Even though she is embarrassed as hell, that still draws a tiny smirk out of her. Looking up she catches Rose's eye before looking back over her shoulder again. Standing in a group across the floor from them is a cluster of other Knights consisting of Fred, Kat, Gar, Jack and Mark. She nods in their direction, biting her bottom lip.] Over there, with them.

[But she sure doesn't...point out which one it is, though to her it should be obvious (cuz who wouldn't be in love with Mark, right??)]

[Rose and deductive reasoning... Welp, with that Wisdom check of 17 and Know... idek Knights Gossip 15;

She at least knows it's not Fred because Alainn hadn't been there when he'd been rezzed and after witnessing the tongue on tongue action with him and Kat after said rezzing, yeah... No.

Which left Jack and Mark, the former of whom she'd been pretty sure was with Gar, what between Castle gossip and her response to him when they ran into the throne room after defeating the Golem.]

Really?! [Grin widening with her approval.] And does he know you might be dressing to impress him in particular?

[At least Rose got it right. Rafael still thinks she's dating Spike.]

Really truly. [She nods as her face falls a bit, looking back to her champagne flute that is still frustratingly empty.]

I don't know if he's quite figured it out yet, honestly. But I've also been avoiding him for a few weeks now. [shrug] I was just taking the off-chance that he might notice and... Well, I hadn't really thought much further ahead than that yet.

[Her own smile falters as Alainn's falls head canting to one side as lines wrinkle her forehead.]

So... you like him but you're avoiding him hoping that will help him realize you like him? [Breaking it down, Rose style.] Wouldn't just, telling him be easier?

[She smiles at Rose's observation, nodding her head ruefully.] I know, it doesn't really sound like such a good plan when said aloud, aye.

Thing is, I've told him already how I feel. A few weeks ago now. [Her eyes stray over her shoulder once more, catching sight of him for a moment.] And he hasn't tried gettingin touch with me since. I figured he wanted space. So this is the first time I've seen him since then.

Ohh.... [Which, probably isn't the most comforting of responses, truth be told.]

You wanted him to miss you. [She weirdly understood that. The one thing that had cemented in her heart that her and Dimitri were over? It wasn't that she couldn't trust him, it was quite simply that she hadn't really missed him. She'd still cared, just not enough.]

So... what did he say when you told him how you felt?

Aye, it would've been nice to have been missed. [she nods with the words, teeth sinking into her bottom lip]

He was... surprised to say the least. But mostly he spoke about his betrothal. [Her voice is flat at the end, devoid of emotion.] Tradition is a helluva thing in a country such as this.

Betrothal?! [Blurting the word out like it was a curse.] How did that happen, he's been dead for the last ten years! [At least as far as the world was concerned. She was pretty sure that death broke any engagements.] What is it like, an arranged marriage or something?

[That draws out a small chuckle, but she nods as she grows serious once more.] Aye, his mother arranged it when they were both very young. And for Mark... [Even saying his name seems to draw a bit of pain from her, but she carries on anyway] It's one of the best ways he can keep the memory of his mother, and the traditions of this Island, alive.

So... he's going to marry some woman he hasn't seen in ten years, not because he loves her but because he thinks that's what his Mother would have wanted? [She shakes her head, lets out a low whistle.] I get doing things out of obligation but marriage shouldn't be one of them.

[She looks down, fiddling with her fingers as she nods in agreement.] Aye, I agree.I would think his family would want him to marry for something real. But, royalty has it's rules. And...

[She sighs, shrugging] ...and honestly, I can't expect him to become King and suddenly start doing whatever he wants, laws be damned. That wouldn't make him much better than a dictator.

Wait... there's laws telling him who he can and can't be with?! And... there's a massive difference between what Dimitris did and getting married for love. Dimitris tried getting a wife through brainwashing and kidnapping, so... Apples and Hand Grenades. [As opposed to oranges.]

I imagine with a royal betrothal it's much like a contract of sorts. Both parties had to agree to it, and I'm not sure what it would entail trying to break it. [She chuckles at the apples/hand grenades comparison, finding nothing weird with it in the least. Her shoulder lifts in a half shrug, reaching out to snag two more glasses of champagne from a passing waiter, handing one over to Rose before sipping from hers.]

But I'm getting way ahead of meself. Like I said, he hasn't tried getting in contact with me since I told him, and he certainly hasn't gone out of his way ter find me here. [nevermind the fact that there are a million people here, and she's been avoiding him like crazy... but totally his fault.]
