[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. [Drax is very pleased with his adventures in Shadow Bermuda. Really, he doesn't see how things could have gone better. He has a cool new weapon now, and he got to fight a dragon, which really is a dream come true for him. He loves destroying things that are much bigger than him. He can be found drinking, while of course regaling everyone with tales about his amazing adventures, trying out his new mace in the training room, or punching holes in trees after he's destroyed one too many punching bags. He's in a pretty good mood, all around. Possibly because of all the drinking. It's a good time.]

[Groot walks up behind him while he's punching trees, because sometimes Groot likes to hang out with the trees. Probably because he's...a tree.

He taps his friend on the shoulder to get his attention. While he's happy to see his friend, he's also looking at him strangely.

Stop punching the trees, Drax.]

[spinerip]

[Wow Peter wouldn't get mad at Drax for punching people. Drax punches indiscriminately.

He will, however, not punch Groot, but also completely fail to read the strange look and give him a broad grin, reaching out a hand to him.]

Groot, my friend! You have grown much since the time I last saw you!

[treeshape]

[It's cool, Drax. He's pretty much over it. He can just grow more of them or w/e.

Groot extends his own hand.]

I am Groot!

[spinerip]

[He grasps Groot's hand and claps him on the shoulder, or at least as high on the arm as he can reach.] Yes, you are!

[He... still has no idea what Groot is saying, but he sure is Groot. And it's good to see him.]

[Drax is probably easily able to do that. Groot's only reached seven feet tall so far, and his friend is pretty damn tall himself.

Now would be a good time for Rocket to be here to translate, but alas. Instead, he points to his friend, and then to the Castle nearby.]

I am Groot.

[spinerip]

[Yeah, Rocket would definitely help things. As it is, Drax only has his rather poor judgment to help him guess what Groot is talking about. In a shocking twist, though, he got a nat 20 wis check. So this time, at least, he has a good idea of what's going on.]

I have indeed been residing in that castle. For nearly a year now.

I am Groot!

[His tone easily conveys his surprise at the length of time, at least.]

[spinerip]

[Drax's crit fail of a wisdom check means he..... definitely did not take that right.]

Surely you are not surprised I have the potential for heroics? We have guarded the galaxy shoulder to branch together!

[beatupgrass]

He's surprised you snuck up on him, you idiot. [Oh look it's Rocket, who really ought to stay close to Groot at all times for the sake of eliminating confusion. He looks up at Groot.] Which seems to be goin' around. I bet we'll come to find out that Gamora's been livin' in the basement for years 'cause she's too ashamed to come out and claim us.

I am Groot.

[Are there people living in the basement? And frankly, everyone else is here, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch...]

[Drax eyes Rocket consideringly, then nods.] I accept your wager, though it is a foolish one. Gamora is not one for hiding. What stakes shall we set?

[beatupgrass]

[Rocket looks at Groot and shrugs.] Weirder things, man.

[to Drax, he says:] Half the others' pay for a year.

[beatupgrass]

[rocket is halfway to drunk right now, and enjoying Drax regaling everyone with his dragon slaying tales. he slaps the counter, laughing into his booze.] No, seriously. You punched a hole in it?

[spinerip]

Indeed. [Drax curls his hand into a mighty fist.] And the tales claim these dragons to be fierce! [He scoffs.] Not so fierce as Drax the Destroyer!

[beatupgrass]

Man, I wish I was there. [if only to see Drax punch a dragon. he chuckles for a few seconds more and then goes all serious... well, sort of serious. he's still drunk.] So anyway, we gotta do somethin' about this Quill situation.

[spinerip]

[Drax nods seriously, though he's pretty drunk as well.]

Indeed. How can we force him to remember our friendship?

[beatupgrass]

Well, apparently kidnappin' him and stagin' an arrest and prison break is a bad idea. [thanks skye.]

[spinerip]

[Drax squints at him.]

Why? That is how our friendship began the first time. I see no reason it would fail if we repeated the experience.

[Drax your wis is -2 if you think something is a good idea it probably isn't.]

[beatupgrass]

That's what I'm sayin'! [it made PERFECT SENSE to him] But apparently, we oughta try the talkin' it out thing first.

[spinerip]

Preposterous. Quill isn't one for talking things out either. He may be slightly less predisposed to murder than the rest of us, but he is still a man of action.

[beatupgrass]

Also I threw a bowling ball at him, so he might be a little leery of me now.

[spinerip]

[Drax scoffs.] That is hardly damage worth noting. You could have shot him in the head. Then perhaps he would have cause to complain.

[beatupgrass]

See? I showed some serious restraint back there for how pissed off I am, and I get no appreciation for it. [he rolls his eyes.]

And I mean we got Groot here now, so it ain't like it'd be that hard to recreate the whole scene.

And Earth prisons can hardly pose a challenge to escape. Even without the help of Gamora.
