The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Sean's already made a fool of himself with Felicity, but it was endearing as hell so bonus points to Sean for just being the most adorable ginger thing on the planet. He'll be forever alone, but everyone will love him.

ANYWAY, now he is just sipping his beer and hanging out because whatever. He's got his cute tie untied and his sleeves rolled up, but he's just leaning against the wall being Sean when Faye walk by and Sean notices her clothes. He snorts out a bit of amused laughter and raises his glass slightly as if toasting her. Get it girl.]

[Oh no you did not just laugh at Faye Chamberlain when she walked by, peasant. At the sound of it, she stops and rounds on him, eyes narrowed.]

Something funny?

Nope. [Why would you think his laughter meant that Faye.] Nice to see someone who doesn't listen to the man.

[Look, he is from the sixties, he can say stuff like that and get away with it because you know if he stayed around til '69 he'd have been at Woodstock. And stoned out of his mind.]

You can't be serious... [As a child of the 90s, Faye doesn't find that endearing at all]

I try not to be. [HOW IS HE NOT ENDEARING FAYE. HAVE YOU NO SOUL?!]

Uh huh. Sure. [Fresh outta soul. Try again later.

She continues to judge him harshly but backs off on her glare a little. He's at least marginally more interesting just by fortune of being younger than 75% of the others.]

What's your name?

Sean. Sean Cassidy. [Most winning smile. (Charisma 18) Just love him already jfc.] And who might you be?

[The smile catches her off guard which explains why her own is a little less dazzling (cha 12). She mostly just looks confused, like she wasn't expecting it.]

Faye.

[No one expects to be smacked in the face with sudden ginger appreciation, its his real super power.]

Nice to meet you, Faye. High point of the night. [Charisma 21, he ain't even playing bb.]

[God damn, son. Faye's prickly exterior starts to melt into something more relaxed.]

It would be, wouldn't it? [Yeah, she might be preening a little.]

[He is butter, baby. He raises his glass again, he appreciates your self-esteem, Faye.]

Considering the high degree of people here, I think that is saying something.

[Her expression shifts to sarcastic confusion.]

We must have met different people, because 'high degree' is not how I'd describe it.

[Shruuuuuuug.] I meant Wynn.

Oh. [She still doesn't seem that impressed tbh. She shrugs in return.] Well, if you'd rather ask him to dance... [Why yes, she might be teasing you- and not in the way that ends with you crying in the fetal position]

[He laughs, cheerful and amused. He likes your style Faye, he really does.]

So if I ask you to dance are you gonna suddenly change your mind?

Only one way to find out...

Faye. [He holds up a finger, finishes his drink and sets it down on a nearby table, lets his finger fall as he rolls his hand over to hold it out for her. Smoooooooth.] Feel like dancing with me? [Charisma 18. Come on, Faye, come on...]

[This guy... Yeah he's doing a pretty fantastic job of throwing Faye off her game with his smooth moves. She puts her hand into his and opens her mouth as if to speak, but just closes it and nods (cha 8 god damn son).]

[Aww yeah, Sean's got game. (It probably helps that Faye is at least close to his own age...) Closing his hand gently around hers, he leads her out on to the dance floor and puts his free hand at her waist. 1963 -- where slow dancing at a Catholic school = the length of a ruler between them. Give him a second to acclimate. Anyway, he still looks cute because he's a sweetie. (Perform: dance 15)]

[At least they are evenly matched on the dance floor (perform: dance 15). But Faye is from the 90s where the kids hated those space rules, so she boldly just steps right into him until her body brushes against his. Her hands rest on his chest, slowly slipping up towards his shoulders. She drapes her arms lazily over his shoulders and around his neck.

She rocks with the music and keeps her gaze on him for now.]

You're different. [She means nice, but different works too.]

[Sean actually swallows because she is all up in his business, but he recovers pretty quickly, if not looking slightly flustered for a bit. He manages a smile though at her words.]

Good or bad thing, or undecided?

I'll let you know once I make up my mind about it. [One hand moves to thread her fingers through his hair a little, because now she's in more of her element (all close and swaying) so she's got her groove back (cha 18).]

[Faye stop. His will save was only a ten. This isn't fair. He needs an adult. Please note that his mod is +8....]

[Faaaaaaaye you are killing him. At least he fares slightly better now that he's guessing what to expect from her. (Will save 16) But it still... does nothing really once his brain seems to connect her words together...]
