[The door slams open and Han storms out with a box full of various mechanical parts. The Doctor may or may not have noticed the busted up old motorcycle leaning against the tree, but Han sure has, and dammit, Han's gonna find a way to make that thing fly. Unfortunately, he can't really see over the top of the box, so if the Doctor doesn't get out of the way quickly, there's gonna be a collision....]

[ Luckily, the Doctor is turning on a heel when he sees the overloaded box of stuff coming towards him. He takes a sidestep, narrowly avoiding being hit by some sort of pipe. ]

Careful there! You got enough in that box?

[parsecs]

Probably not. [As he passes, he glances at the Doctor, now that he can see him.] Far as I can tell, there ain't enough on this planet. But that doesn't mean I can't try.

[He goes a little further and put down the box.]

[Planet? Oh he really wants to pretend he's not interested in that. Really, honestly, he does. But then, well... he doesn't.]

Planet? [The intrigue is clear] You've been to other planets then?

[parsecs]

Yeah. Lots of ‘em. [Even if some of the details are fuzzy, he remembers what it was like not to be Earth-bound. Sometimes he misses it.]

Where I’m from, it ain’t that unusual.

[The Doctor doesn't really know the mechanics of the veil yet, who it takes and where from, but he's learning now, and he's more than a little interested to learn he's not the only one from, well, further afield.]

And where is it you're from?

[parsecs]

Corellia. Long time ago. [He glances back at the guy.] Doubt you've heard of it. No one here has.

[ He hasn't, but he's not disappointed by that, only more intrigued. ]

I haven't, no. And trust me, for me that's actually quite impressive.

[parsecs]

Well, if you had, you'd be the first. [He raises a shoulder in a shrug.] It ain't in this galaxy. Maybe not even in this universe, far as I can tell.

[bowtimeandspace]

[ a different galaxy means very little to the doctor, but he's not about to say that, not with this whole pretending-he's-not-him that he's trying to do. still, he practically itches to say something. ]

Yes well I'm not actually sure what universe we're in.

[parsecs]

[Han shrugs.] Galaxy's called the Milky Way. Planet orbits a star they just call the Sun which is pretty damn unhelpful considering everyone calls their own star a sun, but I don't know what you can expect from a planet its inhabitants call Earth.

[bowtimeandspace]

Ah yes but there are millions of different Miky Ways. Millions of different Earths. Each one unique and complete in its own way, some so close you can hardly tell the difference to the last. But some? Well some everyone's called Dave and eats nothing but chicken kievs.

[ possibly not the best description, but then that's what you're faced with. ]

Uh... [What? I mean, what?] That's not... what the world I'm from's like. What's a chicken kiev?

What's a chicken Ki-- ugh. [ he pulls a face, really, some people just haven't lived]

Chicken with garlic butter and breadcrumbs. Really it's lovely, but I'm not sure what that's got to do with anything. [ Never mind the fact he brought it up, of course ]

And that's my point. Might be where you're from but then there are so very many places to be from.

[Han stares for another moment, then shakes his head.]

Think you lost me.

Yes that does tend to happen, it's quite normal, I wouldn't really worry about it. I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while, people do.

Great, can't wait. [No, really, he can.] Now, excuse me, I got a speeder to cobble together from archaic parts.

Yes, yes of course! [ he steps aside, because really a speeder sounds quite important ]

Uh, sure. I'll get right on that. [Honestly, he has his doubts as to if he'll ever finish it. But he's not ready to give up yet.]
