[ Two groups stow away on a barge bringing imports onto Andres, aided with invisibility and silence spells.  The members of both groups sneak away from the docks, to congregate between warehouse buildings.  Dean checks his weapon in the dim light, glancing down towards the mouth of the narrow alley, and then glancing back at the other group. ]

Castle can't be more than a half mile.   Odds are that's where Elena's headed too - that or the prison in the woods.  Depends on what they're here for.

[ alainn's group remains under the cover of invisibility, taking the road up towards the palace. the palace is surrounded by a tall golden gate, which surrounds the grounds entirely. the front gates are inscribed with a large "A" at the top, and beyond them, past the courtyard, looms the huge palace itself. ]

[Felicity slows to a stop as they reach the gates, doing an initial sweep to see if she can see anything of note (sweep 19). Security cameras, guards, whatever's out there, she wants to try and see if she can spot it.]

[alainn stops next to felicity and scans the gates as well (spot 26), running the list of her spells through her head for the next one which might be used to get them inside the gates themselves.]

[ while there are certainly cameras sweeping the grounds, located at the guardhouse, there is a strange lack of guards as they come closer. ] Does anyone else find this... a little odd?

[Yeah, no, this feels a little bit hinky. You'd think they'd want bodies on the ground, regardless of the technology (wisdom 15).]

Where are the actual people?

[Alainn definitely agrees with the hinky feeling, looking around sharply as the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. something was definitely wrong, off. and that served to ratchet her anxiety up a few hundred notches.]

This isn't right... [she sucks in a breath, looking at the rest of her group] but the spell is nearly at it's end. We need to make our move, and fast.

[craic]

[ Jameson's been quiet, but he nods his agreement with the strangeness, mouth pulling a little crooked as he considers. ] Let's get as far as we can before it runs out, I say. Whatever sort of trap this might be it doesn't change we need to be getting inside.

[allmydreams]

[Felicity nods in agreement, before starting to step forward towards the gate. She pushes against it slowly, trying to see if it'll give or if it's locked without rattling it too much (sleight of hand 8 action point says 22).]

[ the gates are definitely locked, and locked hard, not even budging beneath her grasp. syd looks left and right and says: ] The gates are going to be too obvious. Even if we're invisible, a camera can catch a gate opening itself. We should try scaling the wall.

[allmydreams]

[Felicity nods in agreement, pulling away from the gates, moving further down the wall to see if there's a good place to start climbing without catching the attention of the cameras.]

[ Jameson moves with her, surveying the wall and the surrounding cameras and vantage points (spot 25?), ready to begin climbing once they triangulate the right path. ]

[Felicity is scanning as well (spot 21), before reaching for her bag as she does, glancing back to Alainn.]

Will the spell cover a grappling hook?

[Because she has one but she doesn't want to give them away.]

[Alainn eyes the wall, guessing the height of the gate to be around 20ft tall. She shakes her head, a scowl turning the edges of her mouth down.]

Ach, no, the gate is too tall. My spell only covers ten feet in circumference. We'll have to try and scale it by hand.

Right. [ with a determined air, syd moves to the wall, looks it over, and finds a few hand holds here and there to hoist herself up effortlessly (climb 24). she makes it look easy tbh. ]

[allmydreams]

[Yeah, it's not easy. Felicity is barely managing to get the handholds and probably isn't making the DC, but she's trying (climb 10 action point says 12). She drops down again after a moment, frowning up at the wall for a moment and trying to form another plan of attack.]

[Alainn finds it a tad easier than Felicity in climbing the slick fence, but not near as easy as Syd, with a climb check of 18 in total. If possible, she will pause in the middle of the fence so the others can catch up so the spell will still encompass all of them (str chk...also 18 to hold on???]

[ syd's got this shit. a rope hangs down as she lowers it to the others to help out, which will lower the dc to 10! wooo ]

[You're the best, Syd. Because with that rope, Felicity is up there ASAP (climb 23). Where that roll was two tags ago, the narration doesn't know.]

[ Politely bringing up the rear of the group (not just so he can stare at their asses, cross his heart), Jameson scampers up that rope with ease (climb 24). ]

[ either side of the main drive leading up to the castle front is flanked by elaborate topiaries, and sydney nods towards those on the left, which will provide plenty of cover to make their approach. ]

[Felicity follows her gaze and nods, before dropping quietly to the ground (tumble 25). She then makes her way towards the topiaries, moving as quietly as possible (move silently 19) and ducking behind them out of view (hide 18).]

[Utilizing the fact that they are still under the cover of the invisibility spell Alainn doesn't try to hide as the descends the gate on the other side, concentrating on being quiet instead as she just barely holds onto the rope(climb:10, move silently:nat 20). Once her feet touch ground she goes for the topiaries, (still utilizing her bamf move silently check) eyeing the side of the castle they face, looking for cameras or guards (spot:30).]

[ syd follows felicity's lead (tumble 19), and alainn notices in the far off distance, two guards flanking the front doors of the castle, as well as movement of what are probably cameras above them. they're a long way off though, and it's the movement of something shifting a bit ahead of them, in the midst of the topiaries, that catches her attention.

she could swear that beautiful green elephant just moved. ]

[She notices the guards and cameras, already preparing a spell in her mind do take them both out when her eyes catch the subtle movement in the topiaries just ahead. Surely the elephants weren't moving?.

She focuses on them for a few moments, holding up one hand as she scrambles to prepare another spell on top of the others. A muttered curse is all she manages to get out as a warning to the others that something is off.] Oh, bloody hell.

[ .... Why. Why did you say that. Saying that is never good, Alainn, and she doesn't want to look because looking means she gets to see how bad this actually is.]

I knew we were getting too lucky.

[But regardless she'll turn to follow the other woman's line of sight to see what she can see (spot 17).]
