[ Two groups stow away on a barge bringing imports onto Andres, aided with invisibility and silence spells.  The members of both groups sneak away from the docks, to congregate between warehouse buildings.  Dean checks his weapon in the dim light, glancing down towards the mouth of the narrow alley, and then glancing back at the other group. ]

Castle can't be more than a half mile.   Odds are that's where Elena's headed too - that or the prison in the woods.  Depends on what they're here for.

[Felicity doesn't really know much about the doppelganger shenanigans - it's not really her business and she's not looking to push it. But if a doppelganger is heading her way, or about to blow this for them, she'd like not to get dead. She hefts adjusts her gear, pulling her bag tight against her body before glancing back to him with an eyebrow raise.]

Anybody here know what that is? I'll even take for or against us at this point.

[Alainn is busy readying a few spells, muttering under her breath and moving her hands in different patterns for a few brief moments and doesn't seem to hear felicity (listen 12). When she is done she pulls a small wooden carving from her pocket, holding it up and whispering. Suddenly the carving is moving, expanding and flapping it's now five-foot wing span. With one quick stroke of her finger under the birds chin she lifts her arm, and it takes off with one soft whoosh of sound into the air in the direction of the castle.

She stands, adjusting her slim backpack, checking the Excalibur issue gun in her holster, and looking around at the rest of the group.]

Alright, all of ye, gather close so I can cast an invisibility sphere on us. Ye have to stay close for it to work.

[before alainn gathers them into a buddy huddle, will replies to felicity — ] I think Elena is hoping to give Kyp a chance to redeem himself, save him from execution. But there's no way to be sure if that's what Kyp wants for himself. He could just be stringing her along for the free ride.

[and now they're gathering. ew being close to other people. will's least favorite thing.]

[Felicity can accept that. She knew from Vi that Elena wasn't bad, but Kyp was the wild card. Will confirming that for her was good.]

So Elena, yay. Kyp, question mark. I can deal with that.

[But she'll move in close for the silence spell too, having less of a problem with close quarters than Will.]

That's how we're treating it until we have reason to believe otherwise.

I think Kyp's given us plenty of evidence about exactly what kind of monster he is. Not sure where the question lies in all that.

[Alainn looks at dean like where did you come from again?? but so long as they can all get along well enough to stay within ten feet of each other and get to the castle, she doesn't really care how cray cray he goes on kyp's doppelganger ass. elena is a different story.]

Right... well let's deal with the two of them when we find them. In the meantime, lets get a move on, shall we?

[ ... Felicity just kind of side eyes Dean too because seriously, have you met the Knights? They take all types. But whatever, she's all for getting a move on.]

[ alainn's group remains under the cover of invisibility, taking the road up towards the palace. the palace is surrounded by a tall golden gate, which surrounds the grounds entirely. the front gates are inscribed with a large "A" at the top, and beyond them, past the courtyard, looms the huge palace itself. ]

[Felicity slows to a stop as they reach the gates, doing an initial sweep to see if she can see anything of note (sweep 19). Security cameras, guards, whatever's out there, she wants to try and see if she can spot it.]

[alainn stops next to felicity and scans the gates as well (spot 26), running the list of her spells through her head for the next one which might be used to get them inside the gates themselves.]

[ while there are certainly cameras sweeping the grounds, located at the guardhouse, there is a strange lack of guards as they come closer. ] Does anyone else find this... a little odd?

[Yeah, no, this feels a little bit hinky. You'd think they'd want bodies on the ground, regardless of the technology (wisdom 15).]

Where are the actual people?

[Alainn definitely agrees with the hinky feeling, looking around sharply as the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. something was definitely wrong, off. and that served to ratchet her anxiety up a few hundred notches.]

This isn't right... [she sucks in a breath, looking at the rest of her group] but the spell is nearly at it's end. We need to make our move, and fast.

[ Jameson's been quiet, but he nods his agreement with the strangeness, mouth pulling a little crooked as he considers. ] Let's get as far as we can before it runs out, I say. Whatever sort of trap this might be it doesn't change we need to be getting inside.

[Felicity nods in agreement, before starting to step forward towards the gate. She pushes against it slowly, trying to see if it'll give or if it's locked without rattling it too much (sleight of hand 8 action point says 22).]

[ the infiltration group splits off and dean nods to rose and will to take cover in the treeline as they lose their invisibility sphere. they keep traveling in the direction of the palace, as dean keeps an eye out through the darkness. ] Suppose we're on our own to find a way into the palace, then. Gotta say, this'll be a new one.

[he follows suit with dean.] They probably have service entrances.

Walking right through the front door would have worked well but without a disguise... If we could take down a couple of guards... but I don't know how long we'd have until they'd be noticed missing. [Musing out aloud.

She can almost feel the side-eyeing she was probably going to get for making a statement like that with complete confidence and with a shrug she adds.]

I might have, done something like this before. [#lookatyourliferose.]

That would still give us the greatest access, also provide us with an a way of listening in on their conversations, assuming they'd have comm devices but... Service entry would probably be safer.

[he tries to be gentle with his criticism bc he doesn't want to get into another bickerfest ... but he's will graham. so. imagine how well that goes.] It's a small island. I wouldn't be surprised if Dimitris was at least familiar with most of the guards. I'm not saying that we couldn't impersonate guards, but we would probably need some sort of disguise magic in addition to uniforms.

You're right. [No really she, wholeheartedly agrees. Shocking we know.] Just... sneaking in. [A beat.] What about servants? Most Royals don't care about the hired help. [(Wis... Nat 20. Yet this is Rose wisdom so IDEK.)]
