[ Two groups stow away on a barge bringing imports onto Andres, aided with invisibility and silence spells.  The members of both groups sneak away from the docks, to congregate between warehouse buildings.  Dean checks his weapon in the dim light, glancing down towards the mouth of the narrow alley, and then glancing back at the other group. ]

Castle can't be more than a half mile.   Odds are that's where Elena's headed too - that or the prison in the woods.  Depends on what they're here for.

[ yeah will's wis check was like 19. he gets the picture. and he waits until they're gone to quietly proclaim: ] They aren't who we're looking for. But they're on edge. Probably the prevailing mood in the ranks right now.

[Rose frowns... which nobody sees because she's invisible. har har.]

A tense guard is a trigger happy guard... That's going to make things - interesting. [She's frowning in her voice. Or something. Whatever.

Still she watches the guards move away, trying to see where they're going. (Spot 27)] We should wait for them to come by again. See if we can figure out the timing of their passes.

[Somebody has had too much experience with breaking into places with Guards...]

Is there a time limit on the invisibility spell? [i.e. can they just ... hang out here all night watching soldiers ... ]

Or will it be a problem if they happen to pass between us while we're under the spell?

[Because they are, you know ... invisible. Sneaking around them might be a loteasier than sitting there all night.]

[felicity's criticism encourages him to ... think more, i guess.] There's no telling how long we'll have to wait. Could be ten minutes, could be an hour. Not to mention how they'll probably be spooked once communications are down. This could be the worst spot to be.

[Thankfully Rose makes a Will Save of 18 to keep her opinions to herself for the sake of saving time, otherwise this was probably going to be another bicker-fest.]

[Alainn answers their questions as she peers after the soldiers, her voice hushed, barely a whisper]

Once the spell has been cast, any who enter within the sphere not of the spell will not be affected, however should any of you leave the sphere you will become visible once more. If you attack something while within the sphere, you will become visible If I attack something while the spell is active, it will break. We will remain visible to each other for the duration, but remember that this spell does not muffle sound.

And aye, the spell only has a short duration [one minute per caster level, to be exact.], so if everyone is ready? Lets get a move on. [She waits a beat until she is sure everyone is on the same page, drawing her gun and checking the chamber. Once she gets the nod from everyone, she will head out of the alleyway in the direction of the castle, keeping a steady, brisk pace. (move silently: 21) Ya'll better keep up, she ain't slowing down.]

[move silently 19; will's got this. almost like he's ... used to sneaking around places???]

[You don't have to tell Felicity twice - she is right behind her and quiet as a mouse (move silently 28).]

[Rose just nods, draws her stake and drops back enough to take up the rear (#poorwording) yet still be with the group. (move silently: 26).]

[ syd got a 22, but dean is the loudest with his 14, and he gives no fucks x(

except, of course, for where their path leads them out past a small knot of soldiers who seem to be communicating about the results of a sweep of this section of the town. a listen check of 15+ can catch a few parts of the report:

"--no civilian unrest reported--" "--if it's being sheltered, we'll find it eventually" "--did you hear something?" the last comment prompts several of them to follow their commanding officer's glance across the street in their general direction, and dean, who got a nat 20 listen check, at least has the dumbass grace to stop moving. ]

[will's listen was 29 — he heard that shit. and so he is also not moving.]

[If Dean feels the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, that's cause his back is being stared at pointedly by Rose who probably heard David getting hit on by the Elf lady with her Listen Check of 32, the Dhampir coming to a halt as she locks in on the grouped officers (spot: 25).]

[oh right will should spot check the guards ... spot 30. /inundates the thread with will graham. also sense motive 33 on the commanding officer; there's a bigger group now so he decides to just focus on one.]

[Felicity just barely manages to catch the guards talking and draws herself to a stop (listen 16). As she stops, she tries to take stock of the area and see what she can see (Sweep - spot 23).]

[ awww yeah everyone stops so fuckin fast that despite the commanding officer's obvious suspicion, which will easily picks up on, he doesn't notice or hear anything that confirms his misgivings, and after a moment, he turns back to his troops. they all appear to be heavily armed, and will would also pick up from the commander a certain air of ruthlessness, and a disappointment in his men that's making him eager to take out his frustrations somewhere. none of them, however, look ready to move out from this area any time soon, as they continue their debriefing.

"--accelerating our search of the Shadow Village. The Prime Minister has approved aggressive interrogations of the citizens there, until this thing is recovered."

at that point, a porsche goes speeding up the road through rich-bitch city here, momentarily distracting the guards' attention. ]

[ o-oh. this situation doesn't sound or seem good. before will can contemplate further on this info, there's a porsche speeding through. he tries to get a look at who's driving, but his spot 22 prob isn't going to allow him to see through tinted glass, sadly. god damn it graham.]

[ Jameson doesn't give a shit who Elena or Kyp are or whether or not they die, so he is pleased when they finally move on to the actual sneaking into the palace part of the night. Not that he does a whole lot of sneaking himself (move silently 16) more or less just walking quietly along with the rest of the group under the cover of magic and distractingly pretty cars. ]

[Rose's eyebrows knit together at the snippets of conversation they manage to pick up on, her hand even brushing the phone at her hip as she nails a Dex check of 24 so she can in fact walk and text at the same time without walking into a pole.

Wynn is like, one of three people she has in her phone (she learned after Doppelgate okay) so under the nifty cover of invisibility, she shoots him a quick text;

Yep that's literally the whole text. She figures Wynn can handle that any way he likes.]

[with her listen check of 25 alainn hears the soldiers as they talk. if they want something to chase, she will give them something to chase.

her eyes flash gold, looking up and to their left. after a pause of a few breaths she smirks and from an alleyway further up the road and in the opposite direction that they need to go there is a loud clatter-crash, almost like a trash can being knocked over.

she will wait until they are all headed in that direction before moving on, not wanting to come too close to the deadly group.]

[ dean watches the car speed by with a frown, but will can only make out that there are two people inside before it's out of sight, heading off in the direction of the castle.

fede's distraction is successful, and as the bird makes a racket for alainn, the commander orders his troops to head that way, pulling out a walkie talkie of his own and relaying the order re: the shadow village. the group is successfully broken up, however, meaning they can all head up the road and make the hike towards the palace in the distance.

it doesn't take very long before they're surrounded by woods on either side, which at least gives them a little freedom to talk, as the castle looms up on the horizon. ]

[he waits until they're out in the woods to announce in his special, blunt will graham way:] There were two people in the Porsche. [just in case anyone was curious. since, you know. kyp and elena are also two people.]

[If not for a glance in Will's direction and a bob of her head, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Rose hadn't heard Will's remark, her thoughts turning inwards as they stride through the woods. There's certainly a marked change in her demeanor now that the Castle seems easily in reach, Rose's gaze drawn to the looming building as she keeps an ear out for any unexpected run ins, but by her standards at least, she isn't putting much of her effort into listening out for a threat (Lis. 21).]
