[ Two groups stow away on a barge bringing imports onto Andres, aided with invisibility and silence spells.  The members of both groups sneak away from the docks, to congregate between warehouse buildings.  Dean checks his weapon in the dim light, glancing down towards the mouth of the narrow alley, and then glancing back at the other group. ]

Castle can't be more than a half mile.   Odds are that's where Elena's headed too - that or the prison in the woods.  Depends on what they're here for.

[ dean hesitates a moment, but then nods at the door the ghost came out of originally. ] Don't think we wanna head back into the main hall after-- [ he looks at will's gun, even though his shouting and the ghost's wailing were probably also... bad. in fact, rose definitely hears footsteps hurrying that way from the main hall. ]

[ the room appears to be some kind of miniature library/reading room, also featuring a door into the main hallway. rose sees it at the same time dean does with his nat 20, and he looks at her and nods: ] Bookcase. [ there's one right next to the door that they can probably move together, and dean reaches out to grab will by the collar and yank him inside and out of the way so that they can start pulling it. and dean is he-man apparently (str check 21). ]

[Aww, making up for stabbing her by doing the heavy lifting. Except not really because with her Str Check of 20 Total, this should be pretty easy I'm thinking. Hoping. Who knows.]

[ success! the door is blocked entirely, but as dean draws back, he glances at the others and mutters: ] We make a break for it, we'll probably run straight into more trouble. Otherwise, we hunker down here while they investigate and hope they leave.

Then we wait. [Not willing to stow her stake just yet, she moves away from the blocked door and gives the room another look over, (Spot 31) as if something might magically present itself as an alternative to their current plan while trying to hear what's going on in the other room. (Lis 21).]

[ what she - and dean, with his nat 20 listen check - hear actually comes all the way from the hallway, outside the door to the ghost room. guards sound hesitant as they speak to one another.

"-- came from in there, I swear."

"You don't think it was the -- you know -- do you?"

"You don't actually believe that place is haunted do you?"

"Why do you think the Prime Minister won't let anyone in there?" ]

[i'm glad will crit failed his (retroactive) listen check ... he might be having some kind of empathy meltdown from 2spoopy ghosts or something. we just don't know.]

She does however move closer to the door that leads to the hallway (Cause its just the one between the rooms that is blocked yes), just in case somebody thinks it's a good life plan to come in through there. [ the discussion continues, both men still hovering out in the hall.

"Not a thing."

"Just ... can't be too careful." he hesitates, before switching gears. "Did they say who did it?"

"No, just that the threat's 'contained'. Doesn't mean there weren't accomplices."

"What about the Prime Minister?"

"He's got a cleric on staff, he'll be fine. Still. Can't wait to deal with the backlash on our heads that someone got close enough to pull a gun on him."

dean's head whips up, and he looks silently at the others like wat the fuuuck ]

[Rose is too busy thinking hard and misses the eye fucking while she plays a game of are you smarter than a fifth grader D20. The answer is... well no probably not but the D20 says Wis Check 17 so who knows.]

Rose is however going to open the door to the hallway a crack to see if she can get a headcount on those guards. Just ya know. In case. (Spot 25.)]

[he starts by (probably) unconsciously mimicking her tone:] I really think that Kyp is generally ruthless and self-serving, and it wouldn't be what you or I would consider shocking for him to cut his losses and run. It's what he's spent his entire life doing. However, comma, he's attached to Elena because he sees some sliver of himself of her. He might try to help her, if he could do it in a way that would leave him unscathed. And, I might remind you that it being either Kyp or Elena being the prisoner the guards were gossiping about is pure speculation.

I'm just saying that we can't rule either of them out. Seems to me like a Doppelganger is exactly the sort of person who could get close enough to take a pot shot at Dimitris. Either way, I need to let Wynn know. [A beat] A little something like that might put a wrench in other groups objectives. [Wis 17 and she's going to whip out her phone and send him a maybe not so quick text.]
