[ Two groups stow away on a barge bringing imports onto Andres, aided with invisibility and silence spells.  The members of both groups sneak away from the docks, to congregate between warehouse buildings.  Dean checks his weapon in the dim light, glancing down towards the mouth of the narrow alley, and then glancing back at the other group. ]

Castle can't be more than a half mile.   Odds are that's where Elena's headed too - that or the prison in the woods.  Depends on what they're here for.

[Yep and Rose has somewhere along the way, stopped listening to anything Dean is saying as she looks around the room (Spot 28), clearly distracted.

With her whole body tensed, she slowly steps away from the door and reaches for the stake at her hip and if anyone so much as tries to talk right now, she's probably gonna 'SHH' them quick smart as she tries to listen for somebody else in the room (Lis. Crit Fail AP says 26).]

[will was about to reply to dean, but now the world will never know what he was going to say because he listens to rose's shushing. and then listens for himself. (listen 27)]

[ dean's listen check sucks ok i'm not even gonna spell that one out. but rose and will both hear a strange wind blowing through the room, that lifts the curtains a bit, even though the window doesn't appear to be open. and both of them would swear they hear strange whispering with that breeze, a mournful sound almost like someone crying. ] What?

What is it? [ he pulls up his gun, glancing around ]

Sounds like ... someone crying. [he frowns like werwatey and is going to ... draw his gun too. just to be safe ok.]

[Rose shakes her head, nothing useful to add as her gaze falls on the door again, the one she'd spotted when they came into the room and while somebody should probably tackle her ass to keep her from doing this, Rose isn't that smart (Wis 9) and she continues her slow cross of the room, a hand closing around the door handle and testing it to see if it will open.]

[ as she goes to open the door--

something comes through it, passing right through her body as well, a wispy translucent figure in the shape of a woman that wails as it glides across the room. as it passes through her, she feels excruciating pain as her body fights against the cold, icy drain of its touch (dmg 28, fort save dc 18 to half it). what's more, rose's face seems to almost shift as it moves through her, as the ghost actually ages her with its touch. effectively seven years if she doesn't make the save - 3 years if she does, as she literally feels it suck some of the life out of her.

dean fails his wisdom check to remember they're trying to be fucking quiet and: ] Rose! [ falls from his lips, even as he lowers the gun and yanks out a machete from his belt.

[WERWATEY????????? will nat 20'd his arcane lore check so he is legit ghostbusters over here. good thing he already had his excalibur out and ready for action bc it is the only thing he has that will help him in this situation.]

[A scream becomes trapped in Rose's throat (WS 24), eyes wide with shock and her features twist in agony as the stake in her hand threatens to fall to the floor.

It's Dean's voice that breaks through the pain, prompting her to breathe again, ,to steady herself (Fort Save 25 - So. 14dmg + 3yrs) and she looks back over her shoulder at the other two and readjusts her grip on her stake, readying to attack.]

[ the ghost stops to face them and throws its head back, unleashing a frightful moan. everyone must make a will save dc 18 or become panicked for 7 rounds. dean barely making his save slips the gun into a holster as he leaps forward between rose and the ghost, swinging the blade through it (power atk 20, dmg 14). the ghost touch weapon tears right through the spectre, clearly harming it. ]

[Three action points later... (WS 19) Dean if you think she's going to be smart enough to sit this one out, you're underestimating the stupidity of Rose, the Dhampir moving around Dean to attempt to slash the spirit with her stake. (Atk 31: DMG 18. Atk 26: DMG 18. +3 DMG if either hits land.).]

[will makin you all look bad with his nerves of steel over here (will save 29) maybe faye isn't the only one with a cyborg nervous system. or maybe he just dreams of fucked up shit like this all the time ... the world will never know.

anyway, he tries to take a shot at the ghost while avoiding his teammates in melee ... imagine how that goes. (atk 15; 15 dmg if that hits somehow....) and also he will tell them (or more specifically, rose with her stake wtf)] It's only hurt by magic weapons!

[ rose's first attack actually connects, although her second wisps through the thing, just as will's bullet does. the ghost reaches out for rose again (atk 8), but apparently dean interferes with his machete ... crit fail. when he accidentally stabs rose as she tries moving around him b/c he made the rookie mistake of thinking she'd cower behind him or something. sorry about the... 14 damage. he grimaces and takes a five foot step around the thing so that he won't do that again, slicing at it twice more, but too mindful now of where his weapon is falling to really catch the thing (atk 15, atk 10). ]

[Accidentally my ass I mean, Rose lets out a little yelp of surprise, shooting daggers at Dean - only with her eyes because, she doesn't stab people she's slept with. Except for that one time.]

Shit! [Surprisingly, more for Will than Boozy McStabby (old habits, sorry) because Wis 20 total suggests...] We're gonna have company. [Cause guns are loud mmKay.

And Rose moves in to try and slash again at the ghost. Once (Atk 34 Dmg 15) Twice (Atk 22 Dmg 16. +4Dmg if either hit.)]

Would you rather I pistol whip it? [that's honestly probably the better idea here but whatever he's going to shoot at it again. for a 6 atk. y e p. gonna pistol whip it next time.]

[ it dusts through rose's first hit but manifests just in time to get struck with her second attack. the ghost goes for her again because dean is essentially useless in its eyes, but she easily dips away from its touch (atk 18). dean tries to pull his shit together, lashing out furiously with the blade (atk 20, 27, and... 9), two of which hit (total 34 dmg). the final strike prompts a wail from the ghost - as it disperses with a sudden cold burst of wind. /init

dean looks to rose, shoulders heaving. ] ... You ok?

[Rose is still staring at the place the ghost had just been, tension easing at it seems to evaporate before her eyes and a hand goes to her shoulder, the material of her shirt damp with blood that she hastily wipes off on her pants. She spares a glance at the pouch on her hip but doesn't do anything and despite the fact that she nods at Dean's question, there's a hint of frustration in her eyes as they meet his. (WS 11).]

I'm fine. [Convincing at least (Bluff Nat 20) as she catches her breath, a shiver running down her spine at the memory of the ghost going through her.] But we won't be if we don't move. [(Wis 20 Tot. again & Lis. 27)]

My thoughts exactly. [come on y'all let's move. he's just ... not even gonna think about the ghost. that is trauma for later] Which way?

[ dean hesitates a moment, but then nods at the door the ghost came out of originally. ] Don't think we wanna head back into the main hall after-- [ he looks at will's gun, even though his shouting and the ghost's wailing were probably also... bad. in fact, rose definitely hears footsteps hurrying that way from the main hall. ]

They're coming. [Without hesitation she heads through the door that had been less than kind to her a short while ago, immediately looking for alternatives exits and something to potentially brace against the door to slow them down. (Wis 17, Spot 34)]

[will ... crit failed his spot check for once so i guess he's distracted by re-holstering his gun and overhearing the oncoming guards.]

[ the room appears to be some kind of miniature library/reading room, also featuring a door into the main hallway. rose sees it at the same time dean does with his nat 20, and he looks at her and nods: ] Bookcase. [ there's one right next to the door that they can probably move together, and dean reaches out to grab will by the collar and yank him inside and out of the way so that they can start pulling it. and dean is he-man apparently (str check 21). ]

[Aww, making up for stabbing her by doing the heavy lifting. Except not really because with her Str Check of 20 Total, this should be pretty easy I'm thinking. Hoping. Who knows.]

[ success! the door is blocked entirely, but as dean draws back, he glances at the others and mutters: ] We make a break for it, we'll probably run straight into more trouble. Otherwise, we hunker down here while they investigate and hope they leave.

[Rose doesn't exactly hide the fact that she's not happy about either option (WS 9) but at least she has enough sense to see Dean's point in all this. (Wis 19)]

Then we wait. [Not willing to stow her stake just yet, she moves away from the blocked door and gives the room another look over, (Spot 31) as if something might magically present itself as an alternative to their current plan while trying to hear what's going on in the other room. (Lis 21).]
