My whole family are clerics, so this is probably closer to what they had in mind than where they thought I was headed. [It's not her fault that it took her a long time to find her deity.]

Oh, I'm still the black sheep. [she looks away to pet Henley.] My family worships Lliira and I worship Milil. It helps that they're allied deities, but it's still a little tense when you don't serve the same god or goddess. At least in my family.

[ abigail is, well, an atheist. lapsed christian, but she sure doesn't believe in anything any longer. so she shifts uncomfortably. ]

What is Milil the... patron of?

[ actually that was pretty smooth since she doesn't know what gender her deity is. why do they even have genders??? ]

Song. [ARE YOU SURPRISED?] I'm in training to become a Tuneservant- they're the highest order of clerics that serve him. I thought being with the Knights would help me get the experience I need to reach that goal.

Oh. Well, the clerics here are really good. Solace and Risa especially. [ abigail isn't that bad either, but lmao she's not a cleric. she just knows who they all are. ]

I'm looking forward to working with them. [though she does... immediately assume abigail must be one too.] Are you in the Dragon's... Light, wasn't it? Yeah, Dragon's Light. I love the theme naming.

I'm just a squire, I'm not sure which sect I'll join.

I guess most people don't come into this knowing exactly where they're going to be. [She flushes slightly.] It probably takes the excitement out of the whole squiring process when you just know.

More like it takes the stress out of it. [ she wishes she knew where the hell she should end up. jail, probably. ]

It'll come to you. Like... what are you good at? What do you like doing when you're on missions? [She bites the inside of her cheek.] Have you been on a mission?

I went to Andres. I was a medic. [ non-magic cleric. oh well. her lips press together, but it's the only outward sign of how not great andres was for her. (bluff 32)

Wow, with that attitude there ought to be only one cleric in the whole place. What's one doctor gonna do in a-a pandemonium. Or a pandemic. Or some other pan- word.

Do you like ice cream? [NICE SEGUE, PAIGE. No, but Abigail is a strange child and she needs to help her.] Something about cold weather always makes me want ice cream. I thought I'd go inside and grab a bowl.

[ uhhhhh. abigail is momentarily caught off guard because it's technically on topic, but no where near what they were really talking about and she nods automatically, without thinking. ]

Yes, I like ice cream. [ a beat. ] It's not really that cold though.

Is Henley allowed to eat ice cream?

He probably shouldn't, but he can have a treat, if he wants. [Henley hears the word "treat" and barks.] Well, that's a "yes" if I ever heard one.

[ yeah abigail is all for treating puppies, okay. look at who she hangs with on the daily. ]

Did you give him obedience lessons?

[ like lulu probs needs because she thinks abigail's food is her food, heathen puppy, but abigail doesn't care. which is why the tiny fluffball will probably get ice cream too. ]

I kinda had to. Big dogs like this sort of... terrify people if they're even a little bit, um, quirky? [So poor Henley had a lot to prove. :(]
