The kitchen really outdid themselves.

Des, please. [ she sets her hands down on the table on either side of her volcano of crepes. it has raspberry lava. she is five. ] You can buy White Castle in the freezer section, at least give them a challenge. Like a Double Double.

Not so hasty. I mean, how sure can we be that they did the full imitation. Has anyone seen the butterscotch syrup?

[ Buffy's leaning over the table, wrestling dolloping fruit compote and whipped cream onto her plate. ]

I'd say sorry for hoarding it, but I'm not.

[As she pushes the mentioned container of syrup over to Buffy.]

I held them to very high standards. Especially about the butterscotch syrup. [his pancakes were already covered in it ok.]

Touche, Buttercup. [He waves his fork, indicating what he's eating BESIDES the pancakes.] But seriously, my omelette even has the grilled pepper on the side.

Who'd have thought the true test of a fancy royal chef's skill is if he can make pancakes that taste like they come from a cheap chain?

[Despite the snark, Spike's digging into his french toast with gusto and drizzling way too much syrup onto it. He's not really complaining.]

[ francesca smirks at spike's sarcasm, picking at something simple on her plate. while she doesn't share their enthusiasm for the food, she's certainly glad to see all of them in one piece, and one place. well, except dumage ;; ]

Am I the only one with a strong sense of déjà vu right now?

[Francesca's comment is about all she can stand, the words trying to burst from her long before now. She takes Finnick's hand, already grinning.]

We have some news for you all and it just seemed right to do it like this...

I'm pregnant.

You're— [ Buffy's eyes shoot wide, shock game too strong to make way for happiness yet. ] You—? [ Her gaze darts to Finnick. Between them. Fixes back on Myri. ] ... With a baby?!

Oh my gosh, a minnow!! [ she squeals happily, reaching over to squeeze myri's hand. YOU SECRET KEEPER. :| ]

[Elena will hide her own surprise behind Buffy's always hilarious reaction.]

As opposed to what? A toaster? A goldfish? [She snickers, shoving another bite of pancake into her mouth.] I'm pretty sure she means a baby.

[Des is just sitting here with a forkful of fiesta omelette halfway to his mouth like whaaaat.]

[ francesca is also lost in a stunned silence, but the corners of her lips twitch as her gaze drifts from myri to finnick, and back again ]

[Spike had been taking a sip from his drink (which is not blood, thank god) and starts to cough when Myri breaks that bit of news. When he finally gets ahold of himself and remembers he doesn't really need those pipes for much he says:]

Bloody hell. When's that happen?

Wait. Really? [ despite herself, kat is grinning like an idiot, looking between them like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ]

That's-- that's amazing! Congratulations!! [ he goes to raise his cup of oj ]

Oh my. [ yeah that's it, that's gar's reaction, but she's also beaming like an idiot ]

[finnick's expression reads as a mixture of "What do you think we do when we're alone???" and also "yep. it was me. my magic dick broke the condom." hashtag victor sperm. so i guess it's a relatively pleased expression???]

I had my suspicions during all the wedding planning. It's not anything I ever expected. Witchwomen don't typically actually have children, but... I confirmed with a doctor here on Andres and its really truly happening.

[She gives Vi's hand a squeeze back, grinning at her before sweeping her gaze across the table at all of her closest friends, her family.]

Well, congratulations. Myri, that's amazing. Both of you. [ Looking between the two of them, Buffy nods vigorously like YES GOOD HAPPY NEWS MORE OF THIS. ]

[ vi leeeeeeans in, locking eyes with myri. ] You're having a boy, right?

[ the moment vi and myri are ann and leslie. ]

We don't know what it is we're having- other than a baby. [To clarify, since that was apparently something that was not a given in this crowd.]

The doctors told me we can find out in a few months, which is just...Well, I'm not quite used to that.
