[ she's been to enough briefings that she knows to close her eyes, opening them again when he addresses her. ]

I was wondering if you had time to talk, sir. About Amara.

Of course. [ his expression shifts instantly and he gestures to the table, as he goes to close the doors to the round table room. ] Please. Have a seat.

[bittersweeter]

[ she sits on the table because she's a heathen, carefully studying her manicure. ]

Convincing her that she's actually cursed is off the table, she's too far gone and it's only liable to piss her off so I just decided to act like I'm on her side and that I don't think she's cursed. [ context needs to be applied to her eventual request, she feels. ]

Which is working. It's still like talking to a brick wall, but she listened to me, I got through to her. I may have mentioned that the best way for her to get people around here, mostly you, off her back about this curse thing is to prove she isn't cursed and that one way to do that is to break the curse on the rest of her people.

And she feels she knows a way we might do that?

[bittersweeter]

Well, it's not safe for her to return to Bermuda -- [ the "or whatever" is unspoken, but fairly obvious. ] -- since she betrayed her people to get your people out. But she thinks she found their ancestral homeland.

[ deep breath, she looks up and still does not look like she is willing to believe this shit exists. ] Atlantis.

And she's willing to lead us there?

[bittersweeter]

Yes. And apparently her magic will cover the fact that I wasn't born with gills. [ fifty shades of uncomfortable with drowning or having to take a boat, again she comes right out with what's on her mind. ] It's up to you to decide who goes, of course, if anyone, but my going is non-negotiable. I'm going if I have to take her alone.

That won't be necessary. This is the break we've been waiting for. I imagine this hasn't been easy for you, Sir Zacharov, but if this can lead to freeing Amara - and the entire race of Homo Magi - from their curse, I imagine it will be worth the cost.

[bittersweeter]

[ her lips press together, but she waves her hand dismissively. don't care about her, wynn, she's trying too hard to be clinical about this, bringing her own emotions into it is bound to mess it up. ] Its fine. How soon can we leave?

I'll speak to her about the location and we'll make preparations.

[bittersweeter]

Super. [ she slides neatly off the table and straightens her skirt. ] Anything else?

Okay. [ and off she trots to go be uncomfortable in private, leaving the doors open behind her. ]
