No. [ but she seems to catch the implication, looking a little... not embarrassed, but bashful. ] I'm a genetically engineered feline moreau, I grew up in a lab. I didn't... get out much.

Sure. [ she babbles about the intake manifold??? for a second. car stuff. idk. but as she does this, she pops the hood so the engine is exposed. more car stuff. ]

[alex knows car stuff ... so he's all like /helps where applicable. this was such a good tag. america.]

[ much repair. very greasemonkey. she has no problem wiping grease all over herself and doesn't seem bothered by the scrapes and cuts she gets on her arms when she's reaching into tiny little places filled with jagged metal. ]

Yeah, it was. [he feels very dirty and accomplished.] You learn all that in the lab, or is this a hobby for you?

Not really. We had basic training -- how to change a tire, what to do if the car overheats, et cetera. I read a car repair manual.

Sure! [ oh exciting! ADVENTURE! she wipes her hands on her jeans again so she won't get his precious car dirty. ] Where are you going?

Just out into London. Hadn't really solidified any plans yet.

[ YES. ] When I was small they thought I might have some shark DNA because I didn't sleep a lot, but then I discovered naps.

[he kind of stares at her like wtf child for a moment before unlocking his car and climbing in.] You ever seen Jaws?

[ she clambers in after him, buckling up securely because safety first. ] No. It's a movie?

Yeah, it's about a shark and it's amazing. [wheeeee starting to drive.]
