It's fine. I don't...really remember her, considering how young I was. It was harder on my brother. And like I said, the rest is fuzzy.

[Involving him and whatever had been 'in store' for him. Considering the differences, he's not sure that the plan was the same from his world to this one, even if everything else lined up.]

I'm just trying to get a handle on whatever this is.

[He taps his right temple once.]

I wish I had answers for you. I'm worried that the only real answers are going to come from a source you don't really want to hear from.

From whoever did this to me in the first place.

I don't need answers. I just need control. [A beat.] Though I guess that's hard to get when there's no way to tell what I'm even capable of.

You can at least learn what triggers it by trial and error.

I think I've figured out telekinesis for the most part. I just remember what some of the other kids could do, how it started developing in them. I don't want to start electrocuting people on accident or something. Or dominating their minds.

Are those powers that the others manifested?

Yeah. Mental domination, electrokinesis, mental projection, clairsentience. One of them could even stop a person's heart just by touching them.

And from what you know, these powers started happening based on -- their emotional reactions? Or something else?

[He shakes his head.]

I'm not sure. But they all kicked in at about the same time, accompanied by some pretty intense headaches.

Have you had the headaches since you came here?

[He shakes his head.]

It only happened with the visions for me.

I guess it's too much hope it's something you've just left behind. But even if it isn't... no powers themselves are inherently good or bad, Sam.

No, I know that. But no one's going to care about that if I someday touch someone and it sends them into cardiac arrest because I didn't get this crap under control.

[His hands curl into fists before his fingers stretch out again.]

I'm just trying to figure out what my options are.

[Though going to the source is pretty low on the list of options he wants to pursue.]

Well, there are options that you might not enjoy, but might make some progress at least.

You can try to force them to manifest. In a controlled environment.

I'll enjoy pretty much anything more than hurting someone on accident.

[Priorities. He has them. Yay.]

Is that dangerous?

[Controlled environment doesn't necessarily mean safe for him, but he doesn't particularly care. He'd just rather know ahead of time.]

I'm not sure there's a 'non-dangerous' option for exploring unknown powers, Sam.

[The corner of his mouth twitches up at that.]

That's kind of what I figured.

Just as long as you know that going into this.
