Perched at the edge of any civilized lands, the small lumber town of Falcon's Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its  problems.  Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout the town.  The plague has come to the Hollow, and the town is ill equipped to stop it on its own, particularly given its resistance to magic.

That's where the Knights come in, sent to assist a local herbalist in putting together enough supplies to mass produce a cure.

Flight Threads

[ for any flight interactions, considering it's like a nine hour flight or sth... ]

[ like a loser, abigail spends the flight reading or napping. when she's awake, she's usually leafing through a book on plantlife that she bought. bought and paid for specifically so she can highlight it. :) sometimes she plays on her phone, slowly losing to stiles at trivia crack from across continent the ocean. she's pretty stoked to be heading, basically, home but in typical abigail fashion is just comes off like emotionless boredom. ]

Grimrot

[Predictably, Grimrot has her nose in a book, this time one on Shadow World plants and their uses. Though she has lots of reading stamina, eventually even she falls asleep, glasses still on and perilously crooked, book still perched on her lap.]

[ while she still awakes, logan speaks up from across the aisle ] Anything useful in there?

[grimrot]

So many things! [She gushes, looking up from the book with a huge smile that shows off her fangs a little too much.] Er, unless you meant specifically pertaining to the mission? [Research 13 so idk probably not....]

[adamantiumed]

[ the fangs don't bother him, aight. ] ... I meant that we could use.

[grimrot]

Oh. Well... no. [She glances back down at her book.] But I can keep reading. I'm certain something will turn out to be helpful.

[adamantiumed]

[ he eyes her for a little longer, before seeming to decide he doesn't care enough to ask more if that's all she's got to say ] You do that.

[She wilts a little.] I just got rather carried away... the properties found in some of these plants are simply fascinating.

[Nels spends his flight quietly working through Sudoku puzzles in impressively rapid succession. He occasionally takes breaks to meditate.]

[ quiet like a mouse, abigail creeps over on her way back from idk peeing or something. SOMETHING. ]

'cuse me, could I-- would you mind if I borrowed one of those? [ she points to the sudoku books, chewing on her lip anxiously. ]

[Nels smiles wide at the interruption.]

Borrowing would imply returning it... Puzzle books aren't so good the second time through... [He winks, and passes her a crisp new one from his pack.] But I do have plenty enough to go around. They're great for keeping the mind sharp.

I know. [ when you spend time in a psychiatric home, games like that are all you can play to keep from going insane.

I used to play it a lot. And thank you. [ she cradles it firmly to her chest and wavers on moving away after such a cursory conversation. he seems nice, if not super intimidating because while he only has half a foot on her, she's pretty sure he could crush her with his pinky finger.

Sure thing. [Nels considers her for a moment, totally not imposing with his metal prosthetic forearm.] Anything else on your mind?

[ she's seen captain america 2, don't front. she fidgets anxiously before abruptly dropping into the seat across from him, voice dropping in volume, but raising slightly in nervous pitch. ]

This is my first mission. [ she is not counting andres because she tries to block that out, frankly. she also doesn't qualify the statement with some sort of question, just expects him to read her nerves and reassure her. ]

Well, by all accounts that Logan character can hold his own in a fight. And I've seen a life of adventure. You're in good hands... Just check out this hardware;

[Nels tucks the blade back snugly in the messenger bag he totes them around in.]

I just wish you could carry them around more openly in this world. You would not believe the looks people give you when you've got blades strapped to your sides...

Well, you just need ones that are portable. [ she unzips her thin jacket and to display that she has two knives in the inside pockets. ]
