The streets of Bern swell with the myriad sights and scents of its industry: the wood and polish of carpenters' shops, tantalizing aromas wafting from dozens of bakeries, and the heavy oil scent of artists.  Meanwhile, hundreds of rich colors give the district an appearance of a holiday festival.  The townhouse of Asheron Coyl comes into view, perched on a small rise that overlooks the street.  A low fence covered in vines abuts the street.  A gate opens onto a flagstone path that wends past frozen flower beds, fountains, and sculpted shrubs to the front doors.  A bell hangs next to the gate, reading "Please ring bell" in several languages.  With an 11 disguise check, Nyna didn't really bother to dress all fancy, opting instead for her paladin armor, sorry guys.   She can be the sexy bodyguard.

[Stiles hisses as the blow strikes him. He should probably back the fuck up and let the professionals handle this part, but he's going to keep swinging. (attack 25, damage 2...)]

[ alongside Stiles, Alanna continues to rail on Blue with her crystal sword (atk 16/27 (crit), dmg 11/18). ]

[ everybody manages to hit, actually, and alanna's blows actually crack the (blue) suit open, causing it to stop moving entirely. purple attacks gus again (atk 21, dmg 6), while pink misses him from the ground again. red keeps on felicity (atk 18, dmg 5), and green whiffs at cara (atk 4). ]

[Cara is going to keep at it, ducking out of the way of that attempted attack from Green. She strikes back (atk 11 | atk 18 | dmg 4) clearly not putting her full effort in at the moment.]

[ gonna call another bolt down at purple (dmg 10 wtf, ref 24 for half). what a shitty lightning. ]

[Felicity easily dodges Red again, and shoots him again as a result (attack 31, damage 8).]

[With Blue down, Stiles takes a breath and then turns to help Cara out with Green. (attack 22, damage 2)]

[ Alanna steps in to get at Green and join in the volley (atk 31/10, dmg 11/8). ]

[ gus' weak lightning bolt is still enough to shatter purple entirely. the others chink away a bit at green, but it's still standing. pink tries to hit gus again ineffectively from the end (atk 14), as red continues to fail hitting felicity (atk 10). green stays on cara (atk 11), far too slow to present a challenge. ]

[Cara continues her attacks, trying each time to ensure that both of them are going to count for something. (atk 17 | dmg 6, atk 19 | dmg 3) ]

[And Felicity is just going to keep shooting at Red and staying far away from his ability to hit her. Not that he seems to have much (attack 20 total, damage 6 if that hits).]

[Cara watches as her enemy falls to the ground. She then turns to see who else needs assistance and upon seeing that Felicity is still dealing with hers, she'll move to strike at Red. (atk 12, atk 11) Clearly she's too slow at the moment.]

Outta the way! [ GUESS WHAT IT'S MORE LIGHTnING BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING. (dmg 24, ref 24 for half) ]

[And that thing is probably dead now, but if not she's going to still shoot it one more time (attack nat 20, 32 total, damage 8). She's just really annoyed by this thing that can't seem to touch her and wants it to die already.]

[Felicity huffs as she steps back, before glancing towards the direction they were heading in. If there are traps planted, they're probably heading in the right direction.]

[ She points at one of the stone slabs, the one in the direction they'd been trying to go. ]

That's not the sort of magic you can just dispel.

Which means there is a trigger to activate it. [ cue gus looking around for one. (spot 28)

mellie, meanwhile, is still pawing at the other side. /muffled bear noises ]

[Felicity will also do the same, scanning the room for what triggered the doors in the first place (spot 31).]

[ annnd they find a secret button on the wall behind one of the felled suits of armor, both slabs rumbling back up into the ceiling.

the far door reveals an irregularly shaped chamber beyond, where paintings of all sizes, styles, and subject matters cover the walls. a beautiful scene of an otherworldly sunset hangs next to a portrait of a red-scaled humanoid with silver eyes and massive horns protruding from its head. across the room, a scene of a group of human explorers standing before a colossal tree of fire hangs next to a serene still life of a ship at anchor with a rising sun in the background.

small one-foot-square etchings and woodblocks give way to massive four foot-by-eight-foot oil-on-wood paintings fit for a royal court. ]
