Metropolis is a bustling city even during these cold winter months, but they have no trouble finding the Luthorcorp building - because it literally towers over the skyline, dwarfing the Daily Planet nearby. It's still daytime when they arrive, working hours, and employees in well tailored suits hustle in and out towards elevator banks, past the front desk.

[ Glancing up at Clark in the rear view mirror, Emma seems to consider something. ]

For now, I think it best that you only think of us as the Karthur Institute. We're a global institution of protection. One I have a feeling your friend here might have great interest in joining, as well.

[Felicity glances to see if anyone else is bleeding profusely from a brand new hole in their body, but it seems everyone is fine. She'll glance to Clakr, because - oh right, there's someone else that's new in this car/van. She waves. It's only 48% awkward.]

[Don't worry, Felicity. Clark has the other 52% in the way his face pales at Emma's comment. He's really really worried that someone is going to drop some knowledge about his powers in front of Lois.]

[ and lois looks between them before... barking out a laugh. ] Who, Clark? [ incredulity drips from her tone as she struggles to keep it in check ] I mean, sure, I've seen Smallville flex those farmboy muscles of his a time or two, but I don't think corporate espionage is really his cup of tea.

[ Emma smiles like 8 ) because her wisdom check was high enough to glean from that fact that Lois is not in on the superpowers here (wis 20 total). ]

Sometimes, people can surprise you. I'd like to give Clark that opportunity. It's up to you, of course. [ She turned to look back at him. ] But you'd make quiet the liaison for Lois, if you were to assent.

Maybe we can talk about it after we're done with the getaway car and all of that? [And once Lois is heading in to pitch her story or something. So she's not... right here.

But the idea of getting away from this place- Metropolis and Smallville and... crazy idea here, but maybe getting out of Kansas entirely- it doesn't sound so bad.

He's running from the pain of Lana's death, but who needs to cope anyway? Running and getting involved with weird secretive organizations sounds much better and could in no way backfire.]

It doesn't take much longer for them to pull up out front of the Daily Planet. Emma leans to the side, peering up out the window at the globe atop it. ]

[Clark gives a small snort of a laugh at the prospect of Lois needing help getting her way. He's still not at all pleased about her pushing this story forward but since he's the only one who sees a problem with it, he'll just have to watch her like a hawk to make sure Lex doesn't try to retaliate.]

Believe me. You'll see my name on tomorrow's Planet if it's the last thing I do. [ with that, she shoots clark a wink like I'LL BE RIGHT BACK TRY NOT TO GET KIDNAPPED BY THIS CAR FULL OF DANGEROUS PEOPLE and then off she goes ]

[ Stepping out of the car alongside her, Emma scans the plaza in front of the planet and spots a shopping bag. She reaches in and grabs a horribly tacky and oversized but light jean jacket and pulls it around her shoulders to hide the gunshot wound. To her teammates it would look appallingly unstealthy, but to the person who she's stealing from, they get a telepathic projection of one of those costumed street performers handing them a balloon.

Meanwhile, Emma picks up the shopping bag and confirms there are other jackets in there because I guess this person ?? prepares for summer with jacket shopping ? ? ? Sales, yo. These rolls are working out well for Team Bleeding Out. Anyway, she passes the bag off to Bo who is obviously also injured and needs it. God only knows if People Person Ollie will stay with the car or not, but if he doesn't, there are 2 super out of style, XL ladies' jackets in there. I think that's everyone sporting a gunshot wound.

As Lois enters the Planet, employees bustle around everywhere, but the distraction is not enough to stop the desk attendant from recognizing Lois as someone who Does Not Work Here. She raises a hand to flag her down and calls, "Visitors badges over here!" ]

[theterminator]

[Yeah, no, Ollie is not putting on a woman's coat ... I guess he stays in the van lmfao.]

[She'll put one on, buttoning it up. She's still got killer leather pants and heels okay. If anyone can pull of this travesty it's her.

She also stops the desk attendant.]

She's with me. I'll grab her badge for her and give it to her.

[ yeah lois is moving like a freight train to be honest. and she's rocking a 27 intimidate check against anyone who tries to get in the way of her and the elevator. ]

[ Better roll dat diplomacy, Bo. The secretary's eyes narrow, "I'm sorry, and you are?" ]

Terribly busy. [ Emma answers snidely. The secretary's temper shortens, "It doesn't matter. You'll all have to sign in. She can't just walk in there." ]

We're heading upstairs. We have an appointment. You don't need to worry about us.

[Diplomacy 39 or Bluff 41, take your pick. If that's not enough, she also reaches forward to brush her fingers against her wrist, using suggestion (will 21 to negate).]

She balks, opens her mouth, flusters a moment, then settles back into her seat and just dismissively waves them up after Lois. ]

[Felicity is good with sticking in the van too. No one needs her horrible foot in mouth disease in there.]

[Since Brantley isn't good with getaway cars or dexterity check, he guess he would be better going with the attack team rather staying in the van with a risk of having to drive the car. Not that he hopes the diplomatic mission would turn into another gunfight but anything's possible nowadays.]

lois tries to make herself look as presentable as she can in the metallic reflection inside the elevator (disguise 23) while they ascend and then turns to bo. ] How do I look?
