[She can't help but let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. His teasing makes her feel playful so she asks:] How long do you think you could survive alone in the wilderness? With only the tools you carry on you.

Is that a subtle warning?

The resourceful man you are, I just want to make sure you're prepared for anything.

[everyredcent]

Of course I am. I'd find my way out within a week.

[socialgraces]

[Why is his manly arrogance so endlessly charming? She gives him an impressed eyebrow raise, her smirk becoming more defined.] Of course you would.

I just wouldn't stop moving for fear I'd end up resting somewhere full of insects or rodents. [She makes a disgusted face.] The wilderness is terrible. [No camping trips for this guy.]

I'm glad that's your concern, rather than natural predators.

[socialgraces]

Oh, that too, I guess... [And she trails off. She could honestly see herself killing a bear or whatever other wild animal she might come across, and taking out a whole swarm of bugs seemed much more challenging. And gross.] Of course I can run very fast if need be. And climb... things.

Valuable skills. I'll keep that in mind if I need to choose one of you to be trapped on an island with. [Yes, he heard all of it. Every bit. :| ]

[socialgraces]

[She regrets nothing, although she does look at little shy at his mention of it.] Well, if we're petitioning for the spot, I feel I should remind you that I've recently discovered my talent for cooking. And I think I could pull off the desert island attire better than anyone else on this plane.

I think you'd have Bancroft beat, at any rate.

[socialgraces]

Well, I don't know if that's saying much. [She leans back, crossing her arms.] After all, Arthur was the only one I viewed as an actual opponent. In the swimsuit competition that is.

So? [She raises an eyebrow in his direction.] You already know my choice, don't I get to hear yours?

[He snorts at the idea of Arthur in a swimsuit, but then gives her the slightest of mini-double takes when he realizes he's backed himself into a corner]

I wasn't playing the game.

[socialgraces]

Well, that didn't stop you from eavesdropping. [She accuses, playfully.] Besides, I was just curious, and no one else knows what we're talking about anyway. It won't hurt my feelings if you pick Thomas. Or Arthur, I guess, although that might sting a little bit. [She gives him teasing smile to match her tone.]

Thomas enjoys the sound of his own voice far too much.

[socialgraces]

Maybe the opposite would work better for you. No one has ever accused Luthir of talking too much.

[Muttered:] Or of having a personality, for that matter.

[socialgraces]

[She'll just... ignore that for the moment, to keep the ball rolling.] So someone with a charming, yet reserved disposition then. Someone perhaps like Arthur, who can still carry his own weight?

I hardly think he could carry the weight of his head around, as large as it is.

I believe Ethan has been trained in the discipline of humility, being a soldier and all. They're usually forced to know their rank.

Not to mention completely unable to improvise without orders.

How about a sorcerer like Merlin? He must be skilled in improvisation, given his chosen magical focus. For all we know he might have written the very first spell book.

And he looks as if he's barely taken his very first steps. He might be the greatest wizard some day, but that day and that beard are long off.

[socialgraces]

What about Katniss then? Or is she too young to be a reasonable choice of survival companion as well? Her social skills may need work, but I must admit I find that kind of endearing. Best not to tell her that though. [She tags on conspiratorially.]

[His wit falters on him, which says a lot, because he's usually quick to insult ... everyone on the sun] I wouldn't call her too young to survive. But she's still too fresh to this world, and her lost memories may be a burden at this stage.

[socialgraces]

[His sudden serious response throws her off a bit, but she quickly realizes there's only one person left to choose. She can't tell if he's picked up on this fact yet or not. She just looks at him innocently, as if waiting for him to say something.]
