[ Gold's been gone now for long enough to leave most people assuming that he isn't going to come back. Driven off by confirmation that he was, in fact, the Dark One from the Enchanted Forest by Gaston and Emma, the only indication that he's even alive came in a dream delivered to Belle, where he admitted that he was looking to understand more about this Dark One, perhaps seeking a way to refute the claims of the others. Plenty of people are worried, however, about what direction his search might take him. Others, however, are just plain pissed that he would abandon them without a word - and it's that anger that drove Faye to ally with GLADOS to discover that he was in Glastonbury, and with Lila's help enlist Zero to pinpoint his exact last known whereabouts, at a shitty motel. Together, the girls take a car and head out, hoping to find him once and for all.

There's only one car in the lot when they pull in, the VACANCY sign flashing forlornly above the office door. No lights are visible in any of the rooms, but a COKE machine provides some illumination, along with the lone pair of streetlamps that dully lighten the parking lot. ]

Hey you. [ she pats the bed next to her like come on down! ]

[watchmaker]

[he takes a seat next to her on the bed, and then ... attempts levity.] If you wanted a divorce already, you didn't have to set yourself on fire to get away.

[bittersweeter]

Um, no, I'd like to keep you forever actually. [ she shifts to curl against him instantly and is profoundly irritated by the way her voice cracks and tears well up in her eyes. ] Scale of one to ten, how mad are you?

[watchmaker]

[he curls his arm around her, trying to be comforting.] Well ... not one. I'm kinda mad. But not ... that mad. I guess ... four?

[bittersweeter]

I think four is fair. [ go figure, of course she's going to fall apart with sylar, but she tries to fight it back. ] I'm sorry.

[watchmaker]

Don't do it again.

[bittersweeter]

Babe, it's my job. [ this was not her job, she's just clarifying. ]

[watchmaker]

Oh yeah? Did Wynn sanction this?

[bittersweeter]

Okay, fine. No more missions Wynn doesn't clear. Is that fair?

[watchmaker]

Yeah. That's fair.

[bittersweeter]

[ she sniffles, chin wobbling as she leans against him. suck it up, lillian, jfc. ] Now we're even on near death experiences.

[watchmaker]

I didn't realize you were keeping count.

[bittersweeter]

It's impossible to forget. [ he fell of a roof.

(also this is a lie because she was poisoned that one time in paris, but she's ignoring that. he literally died. she didn't.) ]

[watchmaker]

Okay, but, I wasn't actually putting myself in danger. I was pretending to fall off the roof ... and then actually fell off the roof. [he takes a moment to reflect on this.] I'm an idiot. Why do you love me, again?

[bittersweeter]

[ probably because he just made her bleat out a tired laugh when they're talking about dying. might have something to do with it. ]

'cause you're an idiot. [ she tips her chin to look up at him, a complete sap from pain. and because she's a complete sap. ] My idiot.

[watchmaker]

Oh, well, in that case. [he cranes his neck to kiss her. so smooth. aw yeah.]

[bittersweeter]

[ she hums happily, finally letting herself relax. pain she can live with, she'll get over that. sylar being upset with her... less so. ]

Regretting marrying me, yet?

[watchmaker]

No. I knew this was part of the package.

[bittersweeter]

Good. [ she's pretty sure it's the only right thing she's done in her entire life, so she's looking to make sure it's regret free for both of them. ] Feel like hanging out here with me until I can go home?

[watchmaker]

I can do that.

[bittersweeter]

Thanks. [ she leans more of her weight against him, trembling a little now that the adrenaline is fading, reaching to take his free hand. ]

[watchmaker]

Uh-huh. [he takes her hand in his, looking down at both their hands thoughtfully.]

[ after a long silence, lila looks up at him, crease sprouting between her eyebrows. (sense motive 46) ] What's up?

[watchmaker]

[his manly eyebrows quirk up like werwatey???] Nothing's up. I was just worried about you.

[bittersweeter]

You're worrying loudly. It's worrying me.
