slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol

WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose

The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[ Cellphone pics are hugely impersonal. Plus he always messes them up. ]

Go ahead. I know some basic battlefield medicine from the war, but I doubt it'll come in handy here.

[she launches into essentially the same big speech she gave felicity. she might have put some thought into it before getting on the plane, ok.] So the first thing we have to do is ask other people about his medical history, like we're trying to confirm that it's actually a heart attack, and take his vitals. Pulse, blood pressure. And we're going to do an ECG — don't worry, I'm doing that — to check on his heart. I don't know if whoever is actually giving him a heart attack or if he's just going to think he's having a heart attack, so we might have to fudge it, but we'll figure it out. After we confirm that he's having a heart attack, we give him medicine. Aspirin and clopidogrel. We'll probably put him on oxygen and morphine, too, since we want to spin it as severe enough for him to need a hospital. At that point, after we've done all the immediate treatment stuff, we can cart him onto a stretcher and say that we're taking him to the hospital's primary angioplasty coordinator. I'll do most of the hard stuff, I just need you guys to like, be my professional assistants.

I'll do my best.

[ That's all he can say. It's not like Steve's got much medical knowledge. So he just sorta nods. ]

How long have you been a doctor?

Um ... a few years? I'm field-trained, not degree-carrying, though. Yet.

Hey. Field trained is what matters if you ask me. Half the doctors I knew back in my time were completely degree carrying, but I don't think a single one could have handled being in the field.

It's not exactly what I had in mind when I decided I wanted to be a doctor, but I've seen enough gross cool injuries that it's always exciting.

I never imagined the words gross and cool would go together like that. Ever.

[ He smiles. ]

Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's always going to be exciting working with the Knights. That's in the job requirements.

Not gonna lie, I kind of wanted to be a doctor because I'm really into stuff like that. The human body is like a puzzle, there's so many different parts that all come together and work together to make you you. Maybe it's how guys feel when they work on cars.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Discovering new things isn't something I'd ever disagree with. Technically the experiments performed on me back in my team were pretty radical. All figuring out how to make it work.

[ He shrugs. ]

I didn't work on cars.

Yeah. No one told you? [ Because a lot of people knew before the blind dates. He figured it just got passed right along. ] I wasn't always like this. I was barely a hundred pounds soaking wet. I had more ailments than a normal guy should have. They experimented on me back in my time to make the perfect soldier.

Yeah. I guess. [ He smiles. ] It was a serum. I came out like this. And much healed. Peak human condition.

Is that how you beheaded the colossus with a frisbee? [some details might've got lost in translation going down the rumor mill....]

[ Steve looks at her like she's just grown a second head because who said he used a frisbee? ]

That's not how it happened. I used my shield. [ Then he reaches down to knock his fist against since it's leaning his seat. ] Who said I used a frisbee?

You mean Nathan? The kid who almost blew himself up?

[ Of course he told people that. ]

It wasn't a frisbee. I think he's still mad I told him he could only have one rocket launcher that day.

Exactly! He's barely a hundred pounds. I'm not sure how he thought two was a good plan. They're heavy too.
