The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[Elena briefly looks like she bit into a lemon or something as she just watches Kat walk away before she...also leaves it at that. Time to track down Gar. I'm sure that will be just as fun.]

[ gar is unloading a big duffel bag when elena catches up to her ] Did you get a moment to speak with Dumage?

[She nods.]

I did. We chose my cover and she filled me in on what she expects. I'll be taking her cues, for the most part, since we'll be dealing with her family members.

[She tilts her head.]

I'd like to hear what you expect from me, as well.

[Dumage wants to deal with her sister on her own, after all, so that's not Elena's priority while she's inside.]

I probably don't need to say this but... [ she glances over her shoulder to make certain no one is listening ] I'd like you to keep an eye on Dumage, as well.

[There's no change in her expression, just a single nod and an acknowledgement in her eyes.

Stay close it is, then.]

[She's not going to make Gar elaborate further on that subject.]

If that's all, then, I was wondering if I could ask you something about what happened during the attack. We haven't exactly had much time to talk since then.

At the castle, you mean? Of course.

How much do you know about psionic abilities? Do you know what it is she did to turn Vi's attacks against us?

[She was there, after all, and if anyone had needed to do research to figure out what it was, she was the one to go to anyway.]

I can't say I'm very familiar with things on a psionic front, to be quite honest. My preliminary research hadn't turned up much of anything, I'm afraid.

Hopefully everyone was made aware of the possibility of it occurring again, then. I'd hate to see what happens if it's Buffy or Spike attacking her next time.

[Yet another reasons to only deal with Sarandis today if at all possible.]

We all learned, at least, what a terrible idea it is to take her head on. Hopefully, it was only because she was fully prepared for us.

[Elena nods in agreement.]

When we finally do take her on, we have to make sure it's on our terms. Not hers.

It might not be entirely possible, but we can at least hope for her not to take us by surprise.

That's all I'm asking for. We've never been in a situation where we've been the least bit prepared to deal with her.

That needs to change before we can handle what she's capable of.

Personally, I wish we could have better luck in terms of trying to find out where she came from, or... anything about her beyond the little we know.

Even in my close encounter with her, she hasn't given much away. But, whatever she is, the human form we see isn't her natural state. She told me as much back on Andres Isle.

I don't think it's just an illusion, either. But whatever it is, it might be the reason - along with her pseudonym - that we're not able to dredge anything up on her.

I don't think it is, either.

[A beat.]

It's possible even she's not sure, if she came through the Veil. It wouldn't be the first time someone had to come up with a pseudonym because they lost their entire identity.

I wonder if Draken Crombe knows. I feel like he has to know something.

A shame we can't just call him up and ask him.

[Not that he would answer or tell them if he knew anything anyway, but you know.]

No, but... I feel like we have a better chance of finding out from him than her.

It's not impossible that we'll get a chance at some point.

[A beat.]

Maybe Sarandis thought to invite him today.

I find it hard to believe he wouldn't invite anyone from the Church. Perhaps if we're lucky, we can get something more than stopping Sarandis out of this.

I'm hesitant to try and scan the mind of anyone that close to the Mind Master...

[She doesn't think she really needs to explain why.]

...but if he is here today, I'll see what I can manage without attracting any attention.

Just promise me that you'll err on the side of caution.
