slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol

WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose

The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[She nods in agreement.]

That is a check on creepy mind-rape-y powers. Not my favorite thing to hear.

It seems to be something of a theme. But that seems to be an important part of what Draken Crombe's church is doing - attempting to use the powers of Blade and his kind to implant some sort of messages in the greater populace.

Dimitris Sarandis is a member of that Church. He's been instrumental in helping them track down the Nightmare Lord's descendants and recruit them to their cause.

[She makes a face at that because brainwashing? Not good.]

Is there a "whether they want to or not" attached to that?

Actually, they seem to enlist their aid willingly, if what one of them - Nadia - told us is true. Although 'willingly' ignores the element of psychological manipulation they use to make them feel like it's the best option - and ignores how much they tend to not tell them about what it will cost them.

[She grimaces.]

A choice that's not really a choice. Always fond of those.

It's hard to say how much pushing was necessary for all of them. All we really know is what Nadia's story was... and a bit of Jade's.

[She nods in agreement.]

Some might not have cared about Blade's endgame so long as they got what they wanted.

If it's even Blade's endgame at play. There's still an unfortunate amount that's unclear, and for all intents and purposes, Crombe is still the one running the Church putting all of this together.

[She pauses then frowns.]

Is this like a legit church or like ... Westboro Baptist Church, Gonna Destroy the World edition?

It's a real church, alright - prominent enough to have branches around the world. It goes by different names in some places - we ran across one group called the Brotherhood of the Enlightenment who were a splinter of the same, for example. But the Church of the Lord's Humanity has drawn in quite a few conservative Christians, who use it to justify mistreatment of non-humans. The religion likens them to the beasts of the Earth, which they believe were put here to be used for labor, to serve the needs of humankind.

That's why Sarandis was doing the experiments we saw on Andres. He was working on a way to chip non-humans into submission. As a standing member of the Church, he supported the notion of enslaving Shadowkind to humanity.

It's unfortunate that because there are similar churches that think Shadowkind are a blight to be eliminated and cry for nothing less than mass genocide, that the slavers come off looking like the saner extremists.

[Felicity makes a face for a moment, before shaking her head.]

And just when I thought I couldn't like Sarandis less, he finds something more disgusting. Good to know there is no bottom.

It's why he has to be stopped. Why they all have to be.

That I definitely agree on.

[She takes a breath before starting to get up.]

I'm going to go check on Vi. See you on the ground?

No problem.

[And with that, she will head back to sit with Vi. /scene]
