The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

You know, when I tried to help, this wasn't the gratitude I imagined. [ She turns to look at Elena, softening somewhat. ] How's your ankle? Try not to put weight on it until I get a chance to make sure it isn't broken. [ By which, judging by the genuine look in her eyes, really means that she's sorry and is going to try not to fuck things up further before they get a minute alone. ]

[ the guards shove lance forward into a large coat room, and decker comes in last, closing the door, and then reaching under his own suit jacket to pull out... a gun. yippee. he's just gonna... take the safety off that, and then look at buffy. ] I think you're gonna drop the act and start talking. Now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Holy shit! That's a little overboard, don't you think?

[They're gonna have to kill all five of these people aren't they? Why this?

She just keeps playing along for now, though, because they have to let the others get out of here first. It shouldn't take them that long.]

[ with a bluff of 19 23, buffy holds up her hands in a move that seems like surrender—though there's no visible fear in her eyes—but is really ... readying an action to disarm this fuck the moment their comms give the all-clear for the ambulance. or, you know, if she gets the sense he's gonna pull the trigger. ]

I don't know what you're talking about. [ She maneuvers herself at least a half step in front of Elena such that she'll keep the position as target, though she's reluctantly doing mental math on how they could take down all five of these people fastest too. Guards first, then Decker she figures. He seems too big to go down easy, and it couldn't be a mistake that Sarandis kept him close to his side through all this. ]

Yeah, about that. [ he lowers the muzzle right at buffy's face ] I don't think I believe a word coming out of your mouth.

[With a nat 20 will save, Elena holds her ground, readying her own action to quick draw and open fire on this guy the second she thinks he's about to switch from wanting info to wanting them dead, instead of just...drawing the weapon right now.]

I'm not kidding. Put the gun away, or you'll be dealing with me.

[As she five foot steps to the side, getting out from behind Buffy. She looks like the more intimidating figure at the moment, okay? (intimidate 38).]

[ The moment the muzzle levels in front of her and she's left to stare into the barrel, Buffy wavers slightly, for all that plays through her mind is the E! highlight reel of Rafael's bullet ripping through Jade like papier maché. ]

I don't care what you believe: it's the truth. [ There's a lot a Slayer can fight against: bullets to the head aren't on that list. Her mind summons up the memory of her conversation with Myri, her uncertainty about wanting to be rezzed, knows that Myri would still try. ] Waving a gun around isn't going to change that.

[ decker glares back at "lance" for a long moment, before he waves the gun towards one of the guards ] Take him out of here. He's just a bystander.

[ the guard moves to herd elena towards the door, but gives her a wide berth, his own hand moving to the weapon holstered at his hip. decker then fixes his attention on buffy, but does lower the weapon. ] Who are you?

[Elena gives the guard an incredulous look.]

You're not taking me anywhere. Like hell I'm leaving you in the room with this lady and a gun.

[Not budging tbh. Hurry up, guys. Anytime.]

[ With the weapon down, Buffy lets out a sigh of relief. That at the very least buys them some time. ]

Look, I'm sorry if I did something wrong by trying to help, but I— [ And then in comes the noise of Dimitris' horror and Gar's panic to leave. Her eyes briefly choke wide and cut to Lance. She's just going to bank on the assumption that Elena p regularly reads their minds honestly, which isn't a judgment thing, just a pragmatic thing. Get doppelganged once, shame on you, and so forth; if you're a telepath, you're probably keeping tabs. So she is sending out some uM TIME TO FIGHT OUR WAY OUT? Waves rn. Because four guards and Decker is one thing. But when the rest of Sarandis' posse gets on the move and figures out what's happening, it's going to get a lot harder. ]

[Elena is definitely not reading Buffy's mind, but her sense motive is high enough to get that vibe I would say, especially considering she's thinking the same exact thing as she glances over at the blonde before looking back at Decker.

Their cover is already blown, but Sarandis is in the ambulance. Time to try and get out of this situation.]

You guys are about to have a very bad day.

[Stated as simple fact, which might be a bit boastful considering they're very outnumbered, but what they're about to do is what her friend excels in, and she's confident in her own abilities enough to stand beside her and fight.

She jerks her head towards the guards, indicating that Buffy should take them first, since she can probably take them down quickly and even out their numbers, while Elena focuses on Decker himself.

Then she takes a five foot step away from the guard that I assume is still close to her as levels the gun at Decker, firing off a full attack, followed by a third shot fueled by heroic surge, bullets splitting into multiple projectiles as they emerge from the barrel (atk 24/33/31crit/30/28/20, dmg 6/10/28/16/15/6 Also making Decker her target for dodge and unbalance opponent).]

[ ♬ hit and run - lolo

every single bullet tears into him, ripping holes in his suit, blood blossoming across the wide expanse of his chest. he lets out a pained noise, his body slumping back against the door for a moment, but as buffy moves forward to try to grab his gun, he lifts his head, a baleful look in his eyes as he fires it at her (atk 22), but she manages to avoid the shot and goes to grab the gun. she gets a successful grip on it, ripping the gun out of his hand (with her atk 47) ]

[ Buffy ducks the bullet with the bend of a knee, anticipating the startled response, then wrenches the gun from his hands while she twists, using the momentum to carry her up into the nearest guard (purple) with a kick in the gut (heroic surge 1/5, atk 45 dmg 15). She keeps a hold on the gun with her off-hand, fingers clenched around the barrel to keep her ready to swing it as a bludgeoning weapon if need be. ]

[ the guard takes the foot in his gut with an oof, and then swings back at buffy with his bare knuckles (atk 15/23), fists whiffing over her head both times. green does the same, flanking her with decker (atk 18/annnd a crit), managing to land one blow on the back of her head (16 lethal dmg). yellow and red stay back, drawing out their guns and leveling them at elena.

decker, in the meantime, gives buffy a grim, disturbing smile when she takes his gun away, straightening up despite his multiple bullet wounds, and swings at her as well, but as she ducks out of the way of purple, decker slugs them instead (dmg 11). enraged, he comes a lot closer with his second swing (atk 26) and then manages to punch green too over buffy's shoulder with a second crit fail (dmg 18). it's clear that he packs one helluva wallop at least... ]

[Well, if Decker is going to ignore her and go for Buffy, Elena is just going to unload into him again (atk 30/33/27/30/30/32, dmg 8/4/7/22/7/14, heroic surge 2/5).

Guards, she's coming for you later. She does not seem at all disturbed by the fact that they're...pointing guns at her.]

[ That's fine, because Buffy will handle those who have guns trained on her. She turns her attention away from Decker, full on ignoring this asshole who keeps crit failing and missing her in the ultimate insult as she turns to decimate his guards. In fact … ]

Hey, big guy. Not that I don't appreciate you doing my job for me here, but think you could leave some of your lackeys for the rest of us?

[ Banter earns her a +3 def vs melee, bringing her melee AC to 31. Purple and Green block her way to where Yellow and Red stand with guns raised at Elena, so she starts with Purple, cracking her fists against him (atk 38 dmg 16; atk 40 dmg 13; atk 43 which is in her crit range so dmg 36; atk 26 dmg 18). As he falls, she rounds to take her last attack at green by driving her elbow up into their chin (atk 31 dmg 19). ]

[ green grunts, thrown off by that and missing entirely both times (atk 19 and 27). as yellow yanks his weapon out of his suit, he apparently does so TOO fast, because he crit failed and dropped it and now it's on the floor, amazing. WHATEVER, he will five foot step in and just try to hit her then!!!1 but his 13 isn't doing anyone any favors.

there's the crack of bullets as red fires, shooting the wall beside her (atk 16 and then landing a shot (atk 26, dmg 10).

decker looks enraged by buffy's comment, and despite suffering a barrage of more bullet wounds, he keeps going like some unstoppable truck, slamming a fist into the back of her head (atk 31, dmg 11) and then his second takes her right in the side with a critical blow (30 dmg), although she manages to avoid his third (atk 13) ]

[Elena barely even acknowledges that she's been shot, making only a soft noise as she speaks over the comms:]

We'll be there as soon as we can.

[The front needs as many people as they can get, so she's hoping to avoid them sending the two of them backup when they will hopefully not need it.

That done, she fires two more shots at Decker before firing her heroic surge shot at red for making her bleed her own blood (atk nat20/26/29/23, dmg 30/10/8/10 & atk 30/36crit, dmg 12/22, heroic surge 3/5).]

[ The punishment Decker deals does a good job of staggering Buffy, dazing her for a moment before she rallies to throw an elbow back at him like gET OFF, following it with a slam of his own gun against his head (two-weapon fighting atk 35/41, dmg 13/15). ]

Didn't anyone ever teach you when to quit?!

[ The rest of her attacks are dealt to Green in a flurry of punches aimed mostly at the abdomen, nonlethal in contrast to the way she didn't hold back against Decker himself (atk 39/29/24, dmg 20/18/19). Anything in excess of Green's hit points will be redirected at Yellow, but I doubt that'll take him down entirely ... ]

[ buffy's blows to decker actually send him slamming backwards through the door, the door crashing open into the lobby as he slams to the ground, amid screams from the four civilians out there. he goes limp on the ground, apparently out for the count.

speaking of out for the count, buffy's final blow takes down green, just as elena's bullets are peppering red over there. seeing their boss go down, yellow tucks and rolls on the ground around buffy (tumble 21), turning to fire back at her when he gets out the door, likely more to discourage her from following, than actually trying to hit her (atk 15). red is literally backed into a corner, and keeps shooting at elena (atk 21/atk 9), increasing frazzled as he watches these two down so many of the others. ]

[Drawn in by the sound of fighting, Rose turns towards the shots just as the hulking figure of Decker comes crashing through the door, the brunette momentarily startled as she watches him fall in a heavy heap on the floor.

Before she can so much as check on the occupants of the room, she hears Gar over the comms just as Yellow fires off a wayward shot during his escape. Withdrawing her stake, Rose steps towards him and strikes out with a flurry of deadly slashes, not about to let some idiot with a gun, loose on a room full of civilians.

Atk 40/33/30/33 (Crit on 18). Dmg 26(Pen)/22(Pen)/18/63.... Yeah. Probably a whole lot of overkill right there folks.

It's only then that she seems to consider the poor group of guests who just... had to see Rose go murderface on somebody.] You lot need to get to the back of the chapel. Now.

[Elena literally ignores poor red over here, because he can't seem to hit her anyway, and leaves Buffy to clean up the mess. She five-foot steps into the door way as her left hand reaches for her ear piece, her other hand lifting her gun and leveling it at Decker's head.]

Gar, Decker is down.

[That announcement is immediately followed by the sound of a gunshot as she coup's him (auto crit, dmg 52(trip pen)/22 (single pen)). If he wasn't dead before, he sure is now.

Her eyes then briefly lift to Rose's as she sees her, Elena's own stone cold as she resumes speaking very quickly.]

I'm capable of flight. Do I need to lift Sarandis out of here or do you have it covered?

[ Buffy glances back at the frazzled Red, softening at the sight of his face now that she has the luxury of not sweating Decker. She holds up a hand. ]

If you stay here, you won't get hurt. [ And then she's off, converging with Rose and Elena outside the doorway and stopping dead at the sound of Elena's gun, staring down at the bullet hole she leaves in Decker's head. She swallows, pushes it down, looking towards Rose and catching a glimpse of the police chaos outside. She makes a run for roughly Steve's position where he seems to be back-up-less. ] How did the police wind up involved?

[ rose brutally murders yellow in his attempt to flee, and the people in the lobby scream in absolute horror, fleeing back into the chapel instantly and passing by elena blowing decker's head off, which just makes them all the more panicked.

for his part, red doesn't emerge from the coat closet. ]
