slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

Three, even. Though as terrible as they were, they're not the true threat. It's a step in the right direction, but that's all. Just a step.
[She takes a step back from them, starting to disengage.]
I don't know about you two, but carrying a nearly two hundred pound unconscious disgrace of a man for that long left me exhausted, so I think I'll just...
[And then she gestures with a gentle tilt of her head towards the plane before she starts to break off from them completely.]

Don't beat yourself up. [ she knows buffy will, but she says it anyway. vi's guilt complex almost got her killed, did see to the end of her husband, she's not about to let buffy wallow in it when she could lend her a piece of rope to pull herself out. even if it's a very small piece of rope. ] Come on, let's go home.
[ maybe say goodbye to mark and alainn first but that's still the direction of home. ]

It is unfortunately rather lost on Rose that she looks like Carrie after the Prom, the Dhampir more concerned with checking on Alainn now that she trusts herself enough to keep it together. (WS 22). She hangs back a little all the same, allowing others their moment to speak with her and Mark as Rose's gaze rakes over the other woman, making sure that she hadn't been hurt. Only then will she allow herself to smile, weak and weary though it may be and wait for her chance to speak with her before they have to part ways.]

All right yeah we've still got work to do, but we won today. That's worth something, right?

Best idea I've heard all day. [ And she walks arm-in-arm with Vi back towards Mark and Alainn, smile staying firmly in place, albeit reserved with the appropriate somberness. ]

... But he didn't get his hands on Amanda. I'll take it.

I don't know if I ever really expected to have closure.

[ Steve spares a quick glance out to where the fight took place. ]
With monsters like that it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You get shrouded in so much of their darkness.

But I'm glad that son of a bitch is gone. And maybe that's enough.

Maybe it'll just provide some peace. [ He shrugs. ] Make it a bit easier to sleep at night.

Call me.

As Dimitris' body finally falls for the last time, as Mark's arm tightens around her and says the words she knows mean so much more to the both of them now that at least this nightmare was finally gone, she nods, kissing him gently once more.
As the crowd approaches to say their goodbyes, Alainn heads immediately for Rose, the gratitude in her eyes palpable as she throws her arms around the other woman, regardless of how much like Carrie at the prom she currently looks. She is, however, careful of the new stab-wound, not squeezing too tight.]
Oh my gods Rose, I... I don't know how to begin to thank ye.
no subject
You don't. [Breathing in her scent and allowing Alainn's presence to steady her. A lot had happened since they'd last been together and it was making letting go of her friend, easier said than done.] We have each others backs, right?
no subject
Always, Rose, always. I've missed ye so much. [She'd been focusing so much of her time on Andres, on Mark, and on the rebuilding of the Island and on continuing the relations with the Knights, that she hadn't taken the time to go back to HQ. Having Rose here and being able to talk to her again, see her and hug her, brought into sharp perspective just how much the other woman was missed.]
How're ye doing? What's new?
no subject
Forcing herself to pull back just enough to look at her, Rose offers up a weak, apologetic smile. At least it wasn't Alainn's blood smeared across her clothes now, which was a whole lot better than what it almost was.]
I'm... [There's a slight tightening of her features, Rose sucking in a quick breath of air as she nods her head.] Getting there. [Not about to lie to Alainn and say that everything was sunshine and puppies. She was pretty sure the other woman would see right through that.]
Physically better than I have been in a... long time. [As for Rose trying to hold back?] I've really missed you too. [It didn't last.]
no subject
I'm so happy yer feeling better, luv. [The heaviness in her tone speaks more than her simple words. "I'm happy you're recovering well, but I'm still worried about you and what's happened since we've last spoken, and I want to know it all, when you're ready."]
And I can't thank ye enough for what you've done.
no subject
Rose does hear the underlying concern in Alainn's tone, the words that aren't being said (SM 24) and she pulls back just enough to meet her gaze, wanting her to see what she might be unwilling to say out loud. Yes. It's been hard but she's not at breaking point and there's an honesty on what she says next.]
I'm okay. [And then, to offer a little more reassurance.] Dean makes sure of it, promise.
[There's another shake of her head, Rose quick to dismiss any need for gratitude.] I was just in the right place at the right time. Anyone here would have done the same. I'm just glad you're alright. Both of you.
[Which was probably why Rose might never tell Alainn everything that's happened since they last spoke. Not for lack of trust or desire but because she wants more than anything for her and Mark to be happy and she'll be damned if she drags either of them into her shit and risk that in the process.]
no subject
I know Alainn would love it.
no subject
Still she manages a smile that's not entirely forced. Bobbing her head.]
Might have to take you up on that one. Can't let you have Alainn's cooking all to yourself.
no subject
Aye Rose, please come back to Andres. Bring Dean, we'd love to have the both of you there. Nothing formal, and I promise to do all the cooking myself. [The hope in her voice is palpable, eyes bright as she gives Rose her best pretty pretty please look]
no subject
Andres is kind of a special place for us anyway. [To Mark.] It's where we got together. [And for Rose at least, it's where her life started to turn around. It's where she and Alainn became friends. Where her relationships with people like Myri and Helen strengthened. It was a place that probably held more happy memories for her than the Castle actually did.]
So, we'll come, I promise. [Well Rose would come and she'd drag Dean but she figured, the promise of food, no formalities and sleeping in a bed in the Palace? Hard for him to knock back.]

Soon, you got it? [Rose already hoping that the next time they catch. It won't be surrounded by quite so much death.
With reluctance, Rose lets go of Alainn. Leaving them both to depart but.... not before she stops at Liam, the easy smile that had sat upon her lips a second ago vanishing.]
If anything happens to her? [Eyebrows raising.] Pretty sure you can, fill in the blanks.
