slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[ The reminder of the Grammy's brings back a cringe to her expression. There are a fair number of telling scars along her abdomen that remember that night quite well, thank you. Alexander Anderson makes an impression. ]
But I'm glad to hear it. You and Myri both have this self-sacrifice thing, but you're the ones who have the most important reasons to come home at the end of the day. I don't think any one of us would want to be the reason you didn't.

[ she pulls the ice pack away and sets it on the tray table, tracing the edges of it, expression turning thoughtful, darkening with winter's depression. it's not hard to see the guilt that turns her mouth down. ]
Even if it's a fight I can't win, I'm not going to stop fighting. I don't want her to ever think injustice can stand or that I just stood aside and let it.

I know. And I know I'm not always the most... [ the words seem stuck or unknown so she tries again. ] I don't want to be a martyr and I know I probably worry you because I act like I do. [ her long exhale seems to settle her, reaching over to take one of buffy's hands with her own ice cold one. they weren't friends at the beginning of this, vi would take every opportunity to point out buffy's flaws (behind closed doors), but she was really only pointing out her own flaws, hypocritically finding things to dislike in buffy because she hated them in herself. but she's grown to love buffy, leaning on her for support that was freely and gladly given when vi needed it, and all the things she didn't like softened into things she learned to appreciate, in both of them. ] I'm sorry.

You don't have anything to apologize for. [ Buffy turns her hand over and closes it around Vi's, squeezing tight and offering her a supportive smile. It's not that she blames Vi for it, but rather, she cares too much to want to see her go the same route of Jade. They hadn't been able to do anything for her, and the fear that she wouldn't be able to do anything for Rose either had nearly killed Myri. Buffy doesn't want to see anyone go through that again.
But Vi has lost the most, really, her husband and her best friend and her sister (give or take), and she can see too easily how it might come to her that she should be the one to take on the dangers because she doesn't see how much she still has left, or worse, because she wants to be with them. Vi's big heart has always been the kind for self-sacrifice, and Buffy recognizes it too easily because she throws it around too. ] But I'm glad to hear that's not what you want. [ The softness of her tone impresses that she was ready to understand, if it were. ]

And I am. I would follow Luthir anywhere, but I'm not ready for my fight to be over. My husband died to protect his daughter. I'm going to make damn sure the world she lives in is protected, too.
And I'm sure not gonna get myself killed before Finnick comes home. His life was hell, I'm not letting him come back to more.

[ whomp there it is. ]

I think you're right. And I think secrets are going to fuck us all over like they always do. [ she shrugs helplessly, knowing her answer isn't exactly helpful. ] Maybe she thinks it doesn't matter to the mission or that she's protecting us, but I also think she's not going to tell us until she's good and ready. Especially with how quick to the defensive she is. Even if she doesn't trust us, we're just going to have to trust her.

I don't know if I can just accept that—that there's no way to hold onto the relationship I have with her and protect her from whatever she's been dragged into.

I'll head back over in a little while. [ She props her hand on the chair in front of her and stands. ] Let me know if there's anything I can get you for the arm.

I'll keep it in mind.
[ And slips her hand free, turning to make her way up to where Wynn sits ... ]
