The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[Myri shifts her hand to accommodate, offering a small, grateful smile.]

I keep thinking its a trick. That he'll surely come back.

[The truth of the matter is that sometimes the dead, don't always stay that way. A reality that Rose knows better than most but sometimes complete honesty, isn't what's needed.]

Trust me. [Rose, earnest.] He's dead. You saw Hasmed burn his body and from what I heard? He has nobody left who would bring him back, even if they could.

[It's all things that Myri knows herself but maybe, just having it reiterated, will help it to feel real.]

[She nods, quiet and thoughtful for a long moment.]

You were very brave, to step in like you did.

[A dismissive hum passes her lips, Rose shaking her head.]

Or, stupid depending on how you look at it. [A ghost of a smile touching her lips.] Right place, right time. That's all. T

hanks, by the way. I assume you're the reason I'm all healed up.

Of course. It's my job, after all. But even if it wasn't- I would always do everything I can to help you.

[Job or not, it's the latter that Rose is thanking her for.]

I know. [Giving her hand a squeeze as she silently hopes it's clear, the sentiment goes both ways.] Though I swear, i really am working on giving you less reasons to need to.

[Despite all evidence to the contrary.]

I know you don't do it on purpose. You're always going to be right in the midst of the danger. It's just your way. But I'll always be there to try to keep you up and fighting.

Thank you. [There's a sincerity behind those words that suggests Rose may be more grateful to Myri than she can comprehend and it takes a moment where Rose just looks at their hands together, before she tries to explain it.]

For trusting me... [Her nose wrinkles, like she's frustrated at it not coming out right.] I guess I was worried that.. after. [You died, Rose. You can say it.] I wasn't sure if people thought I'd be able to get the job done, if that makes sense?

Rose... [Myri shakes her head.] No one doubts your ability to do your job. No one blames you for what happened to you before. We blame him.

Not... like that. [Not exactly, though it's clear perhaps that Myri isn't wrong in thinking that was part of the worry.] I didn't want people thinking I was fragile now I guess. Like I might, freeze up or something.

[Which was why she'd been pissed at Des when he tried to take over from her when she was holding the Police off from the others. Like he didn't trust her to do the job.]

I can describe you in a thousand ways, Rose. And not one of them would be 'fragile.' [She means that in the best way.]

[D'awww. And with a Nat 20 Sense Motive? Rose takes in the best possible way. This makes up for that one time she crit failed and totally misread how Myri felt about her okay ;;

A smile pulls at the corners of her mouth, part gratitude, part cheek as she comes back with;]

You mean like; Reckless? Wild? Disrespectful? [Mostly joking.] Cause I've heard them all.

[But at least her eyes acknowledge that she's not disregarding Myri's words. Despite what her flippancy might suggest.]

Brave. Strong. Beautiful. Determined. [She raises an eyebrow.] I could go on.

[Yeah she, might be beaming more than a little at that because she's learned when it comes from Myri, she means it.]

I mean I'm not stopping you. [A real grin now pulling at the corners of her mouth as she gives Myri's hand a squeeze.] Kidding cause, I think you would keep going.

[A more genuine smile drifts across Myri's face.]

I would and I could. You're one of the most amazing people I've ever met, Rose. And the fact that you've come back to the field after everything? It just shows me how dedicated you are to doing what's right.

[For somebody who oozes confidence like Rose does? You'd think she'd know how to take compliments in her stride but the truth is? Nobody has ever really praised her in this way. Not a lot anyway and she has to fight the natural instinct to come back with a flippant response and instead think about her words before she speaks again.]

I don't know who I'd be without all this. [Looking at her hand in Myri's.] Back home? The only choice I had wasn't much of one but here? I could be anyone or anything I want and choose this life because...

[She could say that it's the only thing she's good at. The only thing she knows and while she might believe both of those things to be true? It's not why she does it.]

I don't understand how people can sit back and do nothing when bad things happen, ya know? I feel more right out there doing what we do than I ever feel inside the castle and dying? If i let that change me then Sarandis and those guys, they win.

I know what you mean. That's part of why I know I have to stay with this team. I feel guilty leaving Shayla with Matt or one of the others. I worry that something could happen to me, and she'll have lost both of her parents before she ever got the chance to truly know us, but... I can't just stay behind. I can't.

You're there for all the times in between though. [Which as far as Rose is concerned, is what matters.] Besides. I won't let anything happen to you so you and Shayla have nothing to worry about.

Which is precisely why I'll do my part to make sure you're patched up after the fights are through.

[They make a good team tbh]

We make for a good balance. [Rose echoing that sentiment out aloud.

We do. [And she plans to keep that balance going for a long time. But she won't say that out loud because she doesn't want to jinx it.
