I'm glad you think it's entertaining. [ SOME OF US ALSO ACCIDENTALLY WORKED FOR BAD GUYS

AND NEVER FOUND IT A LAUGHING MATTER ]
certainproclivity: (Wanna copy me and do what I did?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-07 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like to dwell on my mistakes. [it would be like admitting he makes them.] We've all done things we're not exceptionally proud of.

[He has way less than he should have, but that's neither here nor there.]
superswank: (| i don't think that's really a word.)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-07 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If we don't learn from our mistakes, we'll just keep making them.
certainproclivity: (See they can trigger me)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-09 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
At least you don't have to worry about Wynn turning out to be another Sloane.

[oh yeah, Sark just fucking come out and say it, why don't you.]
superswank: (| English DO YOU SPEAK IT?)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-10 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ 8|||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ]

That's the last thing I'm worried about.
certainproclivity: (Wanna copy me and do what I did?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-15 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we've confirmed that's one thing that hasn't slipped your mind.

[what a terrible thing to remember.] I'm not interested in working for another Arvin Sloane, myself.

[especially since, last he knew, Sloane decided to take his endgame to the next stage and left him rotting in CIA prison.] Though I imagine that was what drew me to St. Andrew- a disquieting familiarity. I suppose those of us who find ourselves here would rather stick to the familiar, rather than start anew.

[he glances her way.] As I've said, that hasn't worked out thus far for me.
superswank: (i think you & i should get an apartment)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-15 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
How much do you know? About Sloane, and SD-6.
certainproclivity: (But they can never figure me out.)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-15 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That SD-6 and its related cells operated as a terrorist branch using unwitting agents to do its bidding, including you, until you defected to the CIA. For the most part, Sloane used his to collect artifacts.

[he looks positively coolly annoyed by that. or maybe it's the fact that he actually remembers less about all this than he says. it's not his fault the world revolves around Sydney Bristow.]
superswank: (| did the cia mandate stupid pills now?)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-15 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
And you. Were you an unwitting agent, or was this a St. Andrew situation too?
certainproclivity: (Have you ever been hated?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-15 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I thwarted an assassination attempt on Sloane's life strictly to gain access to SD-6's resources and his cooperation.

[so basically.] I'm never unwitting. Perhaps cautiously optimistic that my employers aren't world-dominating sociopaths, rather than warlords and leaders of criminal syndicates, but never unwitting.
superswank: (| you don't talk about fight club.)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
You should have let it succeed.

His cooperation for what?
certainproclivity: (Wanna copy me and do what I did?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-17 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That wouldn't have been provident.

[he focuses on the road, going quiet, and just when it seems like he's just gonna leave her in suspense, he asks:] I don't suppose you remember much about Rambaldi, do you?
superswank: (| it's like kanye west said...)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-18 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Am I supposed to?
certainproclivity: (He took ten paces- I took eight.)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-22 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't imagine why you'd choose to, if you had a choice. I'm certain not remembering makes your life inherently less complicated.

[he halfway grimaces.]

He was a 15th century philosopher, though some believed him to be more of a prophet. Sloane and my former employer were two such people, and due to Sloane amassing such a collection of Rambaldi artifacts as to rival anyone else's, it was practical that we combined our resources.
superswank: (| did the cia mandate stupid pills now?)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-24 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
What about you? Did you believe it?
certainproclivity: (Wanna copy me and do what I did?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-24 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that a man who can create a neutron bomb centuries ahead of its time is certainly far more than a simple genius, and there are more than a few coincidences that have occurred between what Rambaldi has written and what has transpired or so Sloane believes, anyway. I don't remember much about it.

[he's quiet for a moment.] But Sloane is obsessive to the point of it being religious fervor and religion can make any man see truth in alleged prophecies. I prefer to believe in something that's a bit less open to interpretation.
superswank: (| um no that is -not- okay)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-24 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have pegged Sloane as a lot of things, but 'religious zealot' was never one of them.
certainproclivity: (But they can never figure me out.)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-25 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's a very different sort of religion, I suppose. Sloane was- and presumably still is- devoted to Rambaldi's endgame to the point of little else mattering. [he grimaces.] Occasionally, it bordered on inefficient.

[one time he wasted a fucking bomb to randomly kill tons of innocent people just for the sake of murdering ONE WOMAN so the guy who hired him would give him a fucking piece of pottery.

like jesus, talk about tacky.]
...You know, it actually feels rather pleasant to get that off my chest after all these years.

[because you know talking shit to Sloane usually ended badly for him.]
superswank: (| English DO YOU SPEAK IT?)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-25 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ completely flat: ] That must be nice for you.
certainproclivity: (May I have the attention of the class)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-25 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not stopping you from airing your personal grievances with Sloane.

[smooth as fuck. tell him how you feel about what you remember sydney. or just tell him what you remember.]
superswank: (| it's like kanye west said...)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-25 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not here to discuss my personal feelings about anything.
certainproclivity: (Wanna copy me and do what I did?)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-29 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Then why, exactly, did you agree to come? Just for curiosity's sake?
superswank: (| that is the sound of inevitability.)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-29 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Because whether I like it or not, you know things about my past that I don't.
certainproclivity: (He took ten paces- I took eight.)

[personal profile] certainproclivity 2016-03-30 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Which, judging from what you've said so far, doesn't seem to be much.

[just because she doesn't remember you, sark...

or rambaldi.

him too.]
superswank: (| stop trying to make 'fetch' happen.)

[personal profile] superswank 2016-03-31 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I remember plenty. [ it's all but snapped, the need to contradict him all but instinctual ] Until you showed up, I thought I might not have forgotten anything at all.
