Malina? [ God, all these people she doesn't know. ] I don't think I've met her.

I don't think she's new, she's like a super veteran.

Ooooh. God, I feel like I'm never going to catch up. New people, old people.

[ caroline feels a pang of sympathy, she squirts a little more pledge on her cloth, scrubbing harder. ]

Yeah, it pretty much sucks.

[ She gives a vague shrug. ]

It's how it's supposed to be, right? I mean, what we're doing, it's dangerous, it's tiring. It can't really be done with just a few people.

Yeah, but like. Compared to the world, we're definitely only a few people.

So are most organizations? In a world of, like, seven billion people, any group is dwarfed by the sheer size of the population.

Except for douchey frat boys. They outnumber us all.

Oh, god, yes. They are a plague, and they must be stopped.

Solidarity sister. [ she holds out a fist for dawn to bump. ]

[ And there's a bump, complete with explosion as she pulls back. ] I can't decide if it's more insidious or less on this side of the pond. At least in the US, douche-y frat boys are easy to spot. And smell.

Just follow the pink pants and topsiders, [ caroline adds with a nose wrinkle. ugh boys. ]

See, for me, it's the popped collars, multiple popped collars, and wearing their folded sunglasses on the back of their shirt.

[ WITH AN APPROPRIATELY HORRIFIED EXPRESSION: ] Multiple popped collars.

My hand to god. [ She even holds up her hand in seriousness. ] I think I saw a guy wearing... four? Polo shirts. All popped.

They must smell horrible. Eau de Axe... [ gross, men are gross. ]

Yeeeeah, if you're ever invited to a frat party, do not go upstairs. The smell just gets worse.

[ she mock gags and then sniffs her rag. ] Lemon scented pledge will fix that.

Good luck trying to get them to clean. Even with the pledges as their minions, I don't think cleaning is high on their priority list.

But a pledge with pledge... so many missed opportunities. [ she sighs melodramatically. ] I should be the head of the Greek system.

Pledges with Pledge, pledging their lives to cleanliness. Has a certain ring to it. And yeah, I agree, you should be in charge there.

One day -- [ she squares her shoulders. ] -- President of the United States probably has some kind of pull over that. Eighteen more years and I'll change everything.

If you get frat houses to smell better and frat boys to be better, you've got my vote.

[ cheerfully: ] Every vote counts!

[ Laughs. ] Okay, so, is this bookcase done? Or does it need further dusting?
