[  Jaina Solo has been searching for more information about the Jedi Order and the Force for years now, certain that she and her family can't be the only ones who fell through from a galaxy far, far away.  It would seem that her search has finally paid off:  a Jedi Master may have been recently seen in Malaysia, taking a boat to the island of Luzon, where she was discovered dead on the slopes of a volcano.

With the fallen Jedi's lightsaber in hand, Jaina has asked her friends and family to help her investigate, and try to recover the lost item that the Jedi was carrying on her person - one that was not left with the body.    They've decided to head to the port first, to see what rumors may be left in her wake.  The beautiful Malaysia port of Kudat looks out over inviting blue waters, a number of ships lined up here of all shapes and sizes.  ]

[ while she is up to that, jaina notices... ] ... Where's my Dad?

I haven't seen him since we split up.

Did he say where he was going?

I have an idea. [ THERE'S A BAR OVER THERE ]

[Miles glances over, eyebrows lifting.]

Well, if he's not actually there, maybe someone saw him.

[newgenwraith]

I'll go see if he's there. Bee-Bee Ate, stay with the group.

[the droid whistles an affirmative and moves next to Miles. Poe will then head off towards the bar and slide in, looking around specifically for the remaining member of their group (spot 17)]

[It's... really not hard to find him. A loud chorus of groans and cheers comes from a table and Han smirks as he sweeps his earnings towards him. He glances up as he does so and catches Poe in his peripheral vision (spot 21).

.......oh right, he was here with a mission, and he sure slacked on it.]

Well, fellas, it's been fun, but looks like you'll have to lose all your money to someone else now.

[He stands up, stuffing bills into his pockets, and waves at Poe.]

[and he will wave back and wait for Han to join him before leading him back to the rest of the group]

Rey has found a lead for us and we're about to leave.

[swordofthejedi]

[ yeah jaina is gonna meet them with an amused expression. REALLY DAD ] Enjoying yourself?

[parsecs]

[Han smirks back because hey, if he's gonna screw up at least he's gonna act like it was all according to plan (bluff 29).]

You'll be happy to know I got us a boat. I figure we'll need one sooner or later.

Looks like the answer is "sooner".

So how different is piloting a boat from a ship?

[parsecs]

Depends on the boat, kid. But I've done it. Had a boating operation of my own before I joined up with the Knights.

[A boating smuggling operation. Of course.]

Then what are we waiting for?

[forcevisions]

Did you say you got us a boat? [ Rey approaches with little luck talking to the locals about heading over there—which, go figure, dude disappears heading to Luzon with strangers, it's gonna be hard to talk them into ferrying others—and notices Han is back on board. ] Then I see no reason to wait. I think we've found everything we need on this shore.

[cuivre]

Agreed. Don't want the trail to go cold if we can help it.

[newgenwraith]

Then we should be off.

[a beat]

Can I drive this boat?

[you all knew it was coming]

[forcevisions]

[ in the gently discouraging tone of someone anticipating a big, fat 'no' from Han: ] Poe ...

[ And tbh she's not going to be the one to tell Han to stop hogging the yoke on whatever they get around in because ALL THINGS CONSIDERED she wants him having the time of his life here and getting the chance to do everything he couldn't do back home. ]

What? You telling me you ain't curious on if you can drive this boat thing?

Of course I'd like to try. But Han has more experience than all of us: you heard him. And we have a mission to complete. The faster we get to Luzon, the better.

[flyingsolo]

It might be faster to swim, otherwise.

[cuivre]

[Miles chuckles and walks over to his squire, throwing his arm around his shoulders.]

I'll take you on a boat ride when we get back, alright? And you can totally drive then. But I'm thinking sea legs are a little different than space legs.

[parsecs]

After the mission, we can all take turns doing loop de loops or whatever, all right? For now, let's get going. [And he strikes off towards the dock.] Kids.

[BB-8 looks up at Poe, whistling a word of condolence before going off to follow Han beeping because WHAT IS A BOAT I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!!

Poe sighed and looked at Miles as they followed] All I need to do is look at the controls and I'm usually good to go. I don't remember a lot of things, but I remember that I'm a damn good pilot.

[forcevisions]

The best in the Resistance. I know. [ She rushes the words out as they move to board Han's new boat. ] But Han Solo made the kessel run in a freighter that was veritably limping along in just 12 parsecs. I think, given that he's the one with boating experience, he can get us to Luzon quickly. [ Which is really just polite dressing for 'this is about the mission, not ego.' Luckily, it seems well-settled. ] We can have him teach us on the way back, once we've found the Jedi-killer.
